Title: omega drivers? Post by: FourCats on 2008 March 27, 00:17:00 ever been to this site?
http://www.omegadrivers.net If so do or do you not like their stuff? And why or why not? Title: Re: omega drivers? Post by: Invisigoth on 2008 March 27, 01:27:06 Search is your friend. This has been discussed on MATY over (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,4046.msg114677.html#msg114677) and over (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,9897.0.html) and over (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,4240.0.html) again. There are tons of other threads that reference this topic that I didn't bother to link because well, why should I do all of the work for you? Seriously, all I did was type the words "omega driver" into the search box. You've been here for long enough to know better than to post a thread without searching first.
Title: Re: omega drivers? Post by: FourCats on 2008 March 27, 01:39:47 Looks like the ATI people like them.  I'm running Nvidia.  I guess I'll test them out to see if I like them for Nvidia.  If not I can always switch back.
Edit: I guess I could take them or leave them. Using their drivers didn't fix any thing, but didn't break anything either. Title: Re: omega drivers? Post by: jsalemi on 2008 March 27, 23:01:03 Back in the days of the 7.x ATI drivers, the Omega drivers were clearly better.  But with the 8.x series, AMD/ATI seems to have taken a page from them and added a lot of their enhancements back into the official drivers, so there doesn't seem to be as much of a difference anymore.
Title: Re: omega drivers? Post by: witch on 2008 March 27, 23:38:09 I had graphic issues and a video card crash last time I tried the Omega drivers. I have an ATI Radeon X850 with 256MB RAM, which really needs upgrading.  I didn't keep the Omega driver so I can't tell you what version it was, but I trialled it about 4 months ago.
