Title: Tracking Down Bugs
Post by: leiela on 2008 February 06, 22:31:02

During the last few days my neighbourhood has gotten buggy. I haven't downloaded anything new and it's been running fine for months before that which leads me to belive its not a "hack or object" causing the problem.

At first i noticed a few of my sims jumping occasionally, then today when i rang a taxi it arrived and the wrong sim got into it ... even though i said on the phone that just 1 sim was leaving the lot.

Then the school bus arrived and my teen refused to get on it saying she had responsibilty's to the little ones dispite there bieng 3 other adult sims on the lot at the time.

Then lastly which playing a business i found i couldn't interact with some of the customers i would que a sales interaction and it would just drop off straight away, and then when i tried to leave the lot 2 customers refused to leave and appeared "stuck".

Any suggestions on how to locate and fix the problem???

Run with boolprop and create a error log and attach it to a post here.

Also, did you recently get a new Stuff Pack or EP and failed to update your hacks accordingly?

Did you delete the groups.cache file? (It seems obvious, but I often forget to try that.)

If only there were a FAQ that had "how to get an error log" in it...  (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,7437.msg208014.html#msg208014)

Have you ever moved an occupied lot from one 'hood to your current 'hood?

This might not be your problem but a similar thing happened to me, and it was because my neighborhood hit a population mark that my computer had problems dealing with. My neighborhood was 1.5 gigs and my downloads were 8.5 gigs.  I got rid of a gig of downloads and put all my specs to low and it became playable again.  I't could of been something in the downloads that I ,by chance, eliminated, but I was like you, nothing had changed except there was a birth.  Your problem seems a little more extensive so I hope your neighborhood isn't corrupted because that sucks.  Hope you find a solution.

Even though you state that you have not added anything new and that it is not a hack or object causing the issue, did you try taking them out anyway?

Erm there seem to be alot of files i hope these are the right logs ...

ive added two different ones

The first error was when dealing with som leftovers ... my sim couldn't seem to get to them and it kept causing it to throw an error.. moving the food seemed to work i just placed it on the floor ad the sim retrived the leftovers and put them in the fridge

The second error that popped up was when my sim tried to use the "basic" sell interaction of a playable shopper called Annabella, the error just canceled the sell interaction, i tried it a few times and each time it drops out of the que.

This seems to be my most frequent error at the moment, its not too back when its just one shoper like in this occasion but when it happens to alot its a pain.

The first error seems to be a corrupt attraction token. Nuke them with the Lot Debugger. The next error is some kind of evil CC glitch. Remove non-Awesome objects.

Does that mean that the sim was trying to sell a CC object and couldn't?
