RANDOM OCCURRENCE SCENARIOS (ROS) This is a fun tool to spice up your game play. Below are ten categories full of unexpected scenarios that you can play out with your Sim! Full and grateful credit goes to Staysee, who originally thought of this idea and posted her list here: http://www.geocities.com/staysee_00/ChanceList.txt. Read on to find out how to use the ROS. Parentheses (d) represent the sides of the dice: 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20 and 100. For dice use http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20040517a. (You can use the Dice Roller online or download it to your computer. There is also one important line on the Dice Roller, the "custom" or enter whatever number you wish - the last line. To roll a dice with a custom number, use the last line in the list on the dice roller. In the first box, enter the number you wish to roll. Ignore the second box, it designates how many # of dice you wish to roll. Then hit "Roll". Example: There are 10 categories below, so click "Roll" on the (d10) line. I got a 1. That is the first section, Financial. There are 16 items in the Financial section. So enter 16 in the first box on the bottom line of the Dice Roller. Click "Roll". I got 8. So my ROS would be: "String of Burglaries". I would then follow the directions to play out that scenario. Another example: I clicked "Roll" on the (d10) line. I got 9 - the Miscellaneous section. There are 13 entries in the Miscellaneous section. So I enter 13 in the first box on the bottom line of the Dice Roller and get 7. That ROS is "Inner Peace", so I would act that out with my the Sim of my choice on the lot I am currently playing. How to add/subtract funds: Use the familyfunds cheat, there are directions in the Note section below. If the payout listed is (d100) x 10, then you roll (d100) and get say, 89. Then multiply that number by 10 = 890. So you would use the familyfunds cheat to add 890 Simoleans to your Sim's family funds. You can choose any relevant Sim in the household on which to apply the ROS. Please see Notes section below for more information on where to find mods and how to enter cheats to create the scenarios. Warning: The ROS may require you to use the Boolprop cheat or third-party programs such as The Inseminator, TS2 Enhancer and/or SimPE to alter the Sim (such as adding ASP points) or create the scenario (such as the death scenarios). For links to obtain these programs, see the notes section below. Also, I designed this list to be used with University, Nightlife, Open for Business expansions packs. If you roll something that requires a pack you do not have, just roll again. Regarding the death scenarios, if you really can't stand the thought of losing your Sim, then just reroll. But the best game play comes out of the unexpected…and you can always have a Sim plead with Death or resurrect them! EXTRA CREDIT: Playing out these scenarios is fun, but the real fun comes in thinking of a story to explain WHY your Sim is suddenly taking that path. So make sure to make up a good story to flesh out your game play! If you have any questions, thought of a cool scenario to suggest I add, or just want to tell me what a rock star I am for doing all this crap, then drop a comment over here: http://isleofthyme.squarespace.com/...narios-ros.html Happy Simming!
