101  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: I broke my university on: 2006 June 23, 07:15:31
I managed to accidently abandon my own thread but I appreciate the suggestions although I see it has now turned to townie talk hehe

That's really odd that I can't seem to be able to use the maxis made universities over and over again.  The option is not available to me at all.  When I went to create a new university I only had the option of creating a custom one...hmm

And I wish it were as easy as the tab key...I would have felt like an idiot but at least that would have been an easy issue to fix lol
102  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fulfiling Multiple LTWs/'Impossible' LTWs on: 2006 June 23, 07:06:50
JM noted the thing about the 5 top level businesses.  I have fulfilled it thanks to the little "glitch" that allows you to do so w/o owning 5 businesses.  My sim did however own 3 successful ones so I consider that quite an accomplishment Wink

20 lovers I managed one time only w/o the help of cheating (such as love beds, casual woohoo mods & the like)  I did it once and swore I was never going to do it again (w/o cheating anyways).  A lot of work IMO.

50 1st dates/ 50 dream dates will never happen with me.  I am definitely not that focused.  I try to choose aspirations randomly just for my own amusement but I usually try to avoid Pleasure sims at all costs unless they roll up a career related LTW.  And their regular wants suck.

103  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: I broke my university on: 2006 June 21, 11:00:43
Well I searched and searched and couldn't find any answers and anybody who had ever apparently experienced this strange circumstance so I tried another route and just moved them into a lot that was for rent.  I guess I should have just went ahead and tried that to begin with but I really wanted these sims in a dorm.  But that actually worked...so it seemed like it was something with the dorms.  I'm just going to delete that college neighborhood and try again next generation that comes around ready for college and see what happens, but it will be a while before I get to test it out again.  Unfortuantly all the Maxis made uni 'hoods are already associated with other  neighborhoods so I can't use them.  I have another custom 'hood or two where the custom uni 'hoods work fine, dorms and everything so I'm not sure what the heck happened.  Quite puzzling to me but at least my sims are safe.  I guess they don't have to be in a dorm if my game wants to be retarded and not allow them to be.
104  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / I broke my university on: 2006 June 21, 03:01:33
Okay this one is making me about to scream, I can't figure it out.

I have a new 'hood...just made it a couple of days ago so you would think it would be pretty error free but apparently not.
Last night I made a university for it... well actually the whole university 'hood right now only consists of one dorm that I built myself.  This is the very first dorm I have ever built.  I found instructions to make sure everything worked right...made sure my lot zoning was right blah blah all of that.

I moved my sims in.

They were not selectable...I had no panel that displayed their wants, needs, ect.  Their thumbnails were not made visible on the left hand side of the screen....no pause or play buttons, nothing.

I'm completely stumped.  I have moved them in and out..tweaked multiple things and nothing will work.

Then I decided to use a Maxis dorm, since maybe I have an inability to create a proper dorm or something.  I moved them in and waited...and waited.....the cab never arrived.  Arrive at college and age transition cued up multiple times in the top left hand corner but my sims never appeared anywhere on it.

Each time I've had to use my task manager to shut down the game b/c I've had no control panel.  So it's getting majorly frusturating trying to figure out what is wrong and having to restart the game 3-4x..and each time having to shut it down b/c I can't exit out of the situation.

Any help would be appreciated.  Maybe my college is just FUBAR.

I mean, I tried to delete a fence next to a gnome, and I got the message "wall too close to sim

That's because the gnomes are little sims. Read my legacy story, and you will see.

OT here but I started reading your legacy story...it's a fun read...I've been quite literally "LOL" hehe
106  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: An unused asperation? on: 2006 June 16, 05:41:32
I think you can influence to flirt with or kiss or whatever, or am I wrong?  I really don't use the influence stuff at all.

However..it doesn't matter b/c some of the more dramatic social influences are always denied if sims aren't really good friends.
107  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New Patches for OFB and FFS on: 2006 June 16, 05:38:33
Not that I know of or ever recall downloading unless something snuck in.

I lurked around a few other boards trying to see if anybody else had problems but eventually got fed up and just did the uninstall/reinstall.  After all I figured it would take a lot less time to just back up the game and do it that way then hunt around for what the problem is.  So I did that, put in the patch in (which worked fine!) and put my files back in.

That's really strange though.  I've never had problems with patches since the very beginning...well I think I did the very first patch b/c I had the blur remover that modified the exe or whatever...but not since then.  Makes me wonder if I have something I don't know about lurking somewhere.  Probably time to do a scan!
108  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New Patches for OFB and FFS on: 2006 June 16, 04:00:34
Soo...it keeps giving me an error and telling me uninstall/reinstall.

Yeah...I don't think so.

At first I was going to congratulate Maxis for finally getting off their asses and patching the game, now I'm pissed again =P
109  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: An unused asperation? on: 2006 June 16, 03:44:50
I always thought you should be able to choose a main aspiration and then like a sub one so you could create sims with combos, get a variety of wants and what not.  That's just me though.

I do wonder where they thought of going with the power aspiration though...doesn't seem like it would be far off from the fortune one, except maybe sims would have wants to boss people around more using influence points or something like that  Huh

I wonder if they are ever going to introduce anymore new aspirations into the game although I can't think of anymore really that would be in depth enough to be fun.  Stupid Pleasure aspiration is boring to me, wouldn't want to see anymore like that.
110  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bye Bye downloads. Hello Organization on: 2006 June 14, 20:19:37
Jade, your organization scares the bejesus out of me lol

I always thought about organizing my downloads, but then get to lazy and go to play the game instead  Grin

I have all my hacks in a sub folder called..well Hacks =P
111  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Family Relations on: 2006 June 14, 06:44:26
I have strangeness in what is considered family a lot in my game.

The most common is the father/mother in law who have romantic interactions available for son/daughter in laws but son/daughter in law only has family interactions or vice versa.

I don't really care one way or another...I usually don't go that route when playing my families anyways...I try to keep the cheating outside of the family Wink

I've spoken about my Steven Parker incident before though..him being the apparent neighborhood perv he decided he was going to grab and make out with his niece by marriage in his sister in law's toy shop (I notice a lot of whore like behavior going on in that toy shop..hmmmm)  That has been the most surprising one...has neice/uncle/cousin/nephew/aunt blah blah blah is always clearly marked in my game.  They also have no family maker so i have no idea what is up with that but it's still creepy.
112  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: 'No Patch' Play - How do you feel about this? on: 2006 June 12, 23:23:48
Fireballs tend to build for a while before exploding.  Who knew TS2 in it's virgin state was a BFBVFS waiting to happen until people started playing it and then problems started popping up?  Besides, if the modders whose hacks you use have the patch, then it would be wise to have the patch as well because they've written their hacks assuming that certain aspects of the game code will behave in a certain way, and if yours is different, well, you shouldn't be surprised if you have problems.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
113  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Easier Breakup on: 2006 June 12, 23:20:10
Inteen is all that I know of at the moment.

However I suppose that's quite a hack to put in if all youw ant is easier break ups  Tongue
114  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Building Contest Of Awesomeness! on: 2006 June 02, 02:14:46
Sounds interesting but I think I am almost incapable of building anything without loads of CC
Could be an interesting challenge for me though...hmm  we'll see.
115  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Toddlers with 6 want slots on: 2006 May 31, 09:28:47
I had this problem too.

Seems to happen with DAC with OFB installed.  Never had the stupid issues with DAC before OFB.

I just nuked all the SWAF that didn't have owners.   It hasn't fubar'd anything yet...that is visible to me anyways....but I've also decided to stick out my 'hood until the bitter end.
116  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Your Favorite Default Replacement Skins? on: 2006 May 30, 19:39:31
Downloaded and at this point am totally liking the 1111 skins.  They don't have that creepy over realistic effect that some of her prior skins I have downloaded have.  Or the guys looking feminine as I have noticed that as well with some of her prior work.
117  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Your Favorite Default Replacement Skins? on: 2006 May 29, 22:50:10
Interesting thread...I've always wanted some default replacement ones but suck at picking out decent ones.
I think I might try the Helaene ones.... *trusts Bluesoup's raves for them and goes to try them out.*
118  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: For Those Interested: Soccer Sims Stuff@ TS2.com on: 2006 May 27, 03:17:47
What kind of shit is that?

That's like stuff you see on other download sites...and just think why the hell woud you even bother.
119  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Will you ever... on: 2006 May 19, 18:49:30
I seriously worry about any person that is playing incest stories in their game but as long as I don't know about it, I can pretend it doesn't exist.

Of course I do have creepy Steven Parker getting it on with his niece, but at least it's by marriage and I didn't initiate the nastyness.

Sure the Inteen has the feature to allow teens and adults/elders to have relationships but I never find myself letting that happen.  I guess those types of relationships aren't something I find interesting..err something.

There's plenty of other mods/hacks whatever that allow teen woohoo  out there besides Inteen...Lizzlove's beds will allow it just to name one.
120  Awesomeware / The Scrapyard / Re: No Townie/NPC Move-In Amnesia *EXPERIMENTAL* on: 2006 May 17, 15:37:40
I can see how that is a possibility, but I actually use aka move in/marry off townies a lot in my game so they aren't wandering around eternally
Although I do somewhat fear seeing the memory panels for any of my dormies if I ever decide to move them in with one of my sims

"Lost 10,000 fights to so & so" Heh.
121  Awesomeware / The Scrapyard / Re: No Townie/NPC Move-In Amnesia *EXPERIMENTAL* on: 2006 May 16, 23:20:11
I see JM has the file fixed now.  Yay.
I have finally gotten fed up of townies not remembering stuff that any normal creature should be remembering.
122  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Aspirations going screwy on: 2006 May 16, 17:45:39
Mine had a gap too.
I deleted them..I guess we'll see what happens.  I'm not quite sure if I made a mistake b/c I now have 181 SWAFs for 183 Sim Descriptions.  Opps perhaps...I'm not sure.  I guess I'll find out soon enough.
123  Awesomeware / The Scrapyard / Re: No Townie/NPC Move-In Amnesia *EXPERIMENTAL* on: 2006 May 16, 17:08:57
So I wanted to try this..but when I go to download I get a "no file on this server blah blah blah" message
124  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Aspirations going screwy on: 2006 May 16, 01:09:25
Meh.
I've got kids with LTWs now.
I just adopted a child....it came with a LTW and a locked want to get a job in the slacker career.
I'm holding on until the bitter end dammit.
125  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Aspirations going screwy on: 2006 May 15, 14:59:28
I got around to opening up the hood in SimPe & sure enough it looks like I have the same problem as Pegasys only it has manifested itself in a different way.  Eh..if I'm brave later I'll back up and try deleting the ones that appear to have no owners.

Dang it, this is my favorite hood...I don't want to see it go up in flames.

Have SWAFs always been an issue with DAC like this or is this also something new Maxis broke with OFB and DAC?
