When you imported the textures, did you use "import" or "build DXT" in SimPE? If you use import and then click build to get the smaller mipmap sizes you often get a gap at the edge of images.

Ok, so that's 12 files so far.  Is there any more to come? Smiley

A zip in the first post would be good.
And some of these files have 600+ downloads!
Looks like a "Taster's Choice" to me.

There were a couple of items I had issues with but I have pretty much given up on those for now, so hopefully not any more. Or were you thinking of anything I have overlooked?

Yeah, collecting them in an archive is probably a good idea now. Will do.

You don't have to open the files at all, just save them and copy to your downlods folder.
79  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2008 December 09, 17:58:27
But is it updated for the M&G recolors? I love the shades of wood you can pick now. Also, can you make other shops, like grocery stores or game stores?
Edit: Oh, and Goggalor, I am sorry if it sounded like I was giving all the credit to Emma. You were helpful as well.
Edit of the Edit: Can you safely move mailboxes, because Goggalor's beautiful apartment's mailbox is closer to the trash can than normal.

Haven't had any problems with the mailbox there in my limited playtesting, but I forgot to test the schoolbus and it turns out that the middle streetlight is right in the way  Tongue. So that needs to be moved.

I had some luck making a small convenience store in a building, wrote about it here.

Thanks Tingeling.

Parrot:

There's also a mod to make the stuff buyable on residential lots. I got it from MTS2.

There are some quirks with restaurants in apartments though. You can't have counter islands in the apartments, or the hostess will seat people there. Regular tables seem to work fine. Also, if you have a dishwasher in the restaurant kitchen you need it for the playables as well, otherwise they will ignore their sinks and use that. And sometimes it spawns two waiters when there should just be one.

It's great for romance sims who date a lot to be able to fill the dine out want without going anywhere Smiley.
81  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2008 December 07, 06:06:26
Goggalor, that is really clever.

What eps/sps does it require?

EDIT: Forgot to say I have all EPs and SPs installed but out of the stuff packs I think I only used K&B and M&G. At least that's what I tried.

I loved your museum btw. I find it very difficult to make clean modern buildings like that, and still have them look interesting and not just weird.
82  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2008 December 07, 04:53:01
Really great lots everyone!

I have an apartment building this month. Four apartments, all in different sizes, and a communal area that is a book cafe/hangout. Also has a small playground.
It's meant to go on a street corner.

Front:

Back:

Cafe, where sims can have a cup of coffee, play som chess, or arrange an open-mic night.
I used the cafe as a restaurant, however this can slow the game down quite a bit, so I packaged it with a regular kitchen and without the podium.

Overview:

Rents range from 1507 - 8831 (unwanded). I sort of got tired of furnishing, so while all rooms are furnished there's no deco stuff in the bed/bathrooms.

All pics with some interior shots

83  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Saluting plague on: 2008 December 07, 01:52:18
Well that's good news I suppose, but yeah, it's horrible. No reinstall at least  Grin. Thanks.
84  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Saluting plague - SOLVED on: 2008 December 07, 01:36:58
I was playtesting the apartment house I built for this months House of Fail, and moved in the Picasos in one of the apartments. They are both in the military career. Suddenly everyone one the lot walks around saluting left and right. Other tenants, the landlord, the mailman, etc.
So I left that house and plopped down a copy and moved in a new CAS family. Well, they were still saluting.
I backed up the EA games folder, deleted it and let the game create a fresh one. Just moved over the old LotCatalog and started a new neighborhood. No Luck. Serves me right for forgetting to put in the empty freetime template after last game install and then using a maxian family I guess.

I tried to do a search for this but turned up nothing. So has anyone else run in to this? And more importantly, can this type of behavior spread through the lot so that I can't share it use it after a reinstall if it comes to that? I had no hacks or CC whatsoever in the game when I made the lot btw.

85  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Shiftable signs, paintings and photos (AL) UPDATED 2008-11-26 Now with mirrors. on: 2008 December 03, 03:35:18
When positioning wall lights lower on a wall, do they light up properly with this mod? It irks me that I can't have lights that stair-step up with staircases since the ones that are lower are basically just dark blobs. Tongue
´
No, sorry, this doesn't do anything to the lights. Some of the items here have that problem of going dark when moved as well. I wouldn't know how to fix it either or if it's even possible.
86  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of FAIL: December on: 2008 December 02, 15:36:03
So, how do I install it? CleanInstaller doesn't open the package.

You can put it in the LotCatalog folder and rename it to for example cx_00000500.package or whatever number sequence not already present in that folder.

Ah, of course, the drawing. I wonder how many more things I've forgotten about  Smiley
88  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Shiftable signs, paintings and photos (AL) UPDATED 2008-11-21 on: 2008 November 21, 21:37:25
Well, here's the mirror hack.

I decided to enable shifting for all wallmirrors through a semi-global, and then disable it for the ones that didn't work as they should.

This means that most CC mirrors will be shiftable as well. However this also means that if there are custom mirrors cloned from the problematic ones they might jump and snap into a locked position when you try to shift them. In that case just rebuy it.

List of the non-working ones (including the three full-wall mirrors):

Deceptico Plano Glass  -UNI
Modart Noudeco 1&3 tile  -NL
Bigger is Better  -NL
Functional Eloquence  -OFB
The Eleafquent Mirror  -AL
Charming Reflections -Glamour Life
Fancy Sycophancy -Glamour Life
KRABB Mirror (the small one) -IKEA

The taller mirrors from IKEA stuff pack only move slightly up and down.
89  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Shiftable signs, paintings and photos (AL) UPDATED 2008-11-21 on: 2008 November 21, 18:56:52
The only mirrors I would have a real interest in being movable would be the ones that clip into counters. Some of my favorite mirrors can't be placed over counters. Shame really.

I'm in the process of changing the properly functioning ones, it'll be done later today. Except if there's new ones in Mansion & Garden of course.

Think you'll be doing the other wall mounted TV? I noticed that can't move either.

Ah,  the swingarm one, forgot about that. Here it is.
90  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Shiftable signs, paintings and photos (AL) on: 2008 November 21, 17:40:23
Sorry about the long pause. Here are three more shiftables:

Alarms: burglar/fire
Speakers: All the wallspeakers. ( I don't think there's a problem with having these inits as one package even if one doesn't have the corresponding  EP's. If I'm wrong just tell me and I'll split them up.)
Wall vents: They were floor objects, besides the shifting I changed them to go on walls.
91  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Shiftable signs, paintings and photos (AL) on: 2008 September 15, 04:33:46
You could try to hang it and force error. (With boolprop testingcheatsenabled set to true; shiftclick plaque and force error. In the dialog that comes up, choose reset.) Then see if you can move it.
92  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Shiftable signs, paintings and photos (AL) on: 2008 September 15, 03:14:43
Another batch of shiftables:

Curtains
Wall TV
The wallmounted fish from seasons
Deed to business/vacation lot + BV maps (possibly this affects other items as well as it is a semi-global function, these are the ones I spotted though)
Craftable plate + potholder  (the plate only shifts upwards from it's original position)

Hopefully coming up later:
Fire/burglar alarm
bug collection box
craftable OFB kite

...
I also found that the Maxed enthusiasm plaque can't be shifted either.  Undecided
...

Are you sure? They move in my game without any hacks.

93  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Shiftable signs, paintings and photos (AL) on: 2008 September 14, 15:32:21
Hehe, of course there's more; there's always more with EAxis.
Good to know what though as it is so easy to forget what goes on the wall.

I've had no luck with the mirrors. I suppose I could change the ones that do work individually if there's interest for that.
Will check out the fish, plaque and TV.
94  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Shiftable signs, paintings and photos (AL) on: 2008 September 08, 21:35:22
Thanks, will the painting fix work properly with FT? Because they edited the paintings  to enable framing them.

Yes, works fine with or without framing.
95  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Shiftable signs, paintings and photos (AL) on: 2008 September 08, 19:58:02
New package for easel paintings in the first post that I hope work for both old and new paintings.
Old photos seem to work already in my tests, the signs may need to be replaced if they are on a lot that have been loaded and saved in AL without the hack. Old lots with signs that I just installed or placed picks up the change though.

Thank you for this. It's ridiculous how they missed these things out. It's nice to not have my signs clipping into roofs. I assume they haven't done mirrors and the TV because of animation problems. Still... it would be nice to be able to move them at least a little (to prevent clipping into fireplaces and such).

Yeah, when I tested the mirrors it did look pretty silly when they practiced romance in front of an empty wall with the mirror above their heads.
I'm still looking in too why some mirrors don't work as they should.
96  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Shiftable signs, paintings and photos (AL) on: 2008 September 08, 17:43:09
Only thing on your list I've tried this with is paintings done in game.  The new paintings --ones made after I installed the mod-- shift with no problems.  Paintings that were already hung don't.

Don't know whether this can be fixed, but I thought I'd mention it.

Ah, I never tried that, I'll check it out.
97  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Shiftable signs, paintings and photos (AL) on: 2008 September 07, 23:54:04
From limited testing these seem to work fine. Thank you!

Is there anywhere I can read up on how to modify the BHAVs myself? There are a few custom objects I've been itching to move up and down walls.

In this case I just compared the movable stuff to the unmovable to see what the difference was. Turned out to be a simple flag.

If you want to do it yourself, first you need the QA version of SimPE.

If it's just a single object you want to change you just set the flag at the end of the init (If you don't know how to do this I would think most basic bhav tutorials over at MTS2 cover it). These are the values:

In the case of the signs I didn't have to change them one by one as they shared a semi-global init.
For the photos I changed another function as I also had to clear the flag for when they change to table-placed objects.

I was wondering how long it would be before people started producing mods for the wall stuff Maxis missed.   Grin
These are great.   Would you consider or is it even possible to do this with the mirrors?  I was so looking forward to
be able to move the mirrors and for whatever reason they cannot be moved like paintings can.

I made an attempt to change the mirrors via semi-global, and it worked for some, while others snapped to one position and then wouldn't move. I haven't checked them out individually to see if I could find the problem yet.

98  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Shiftable signs, paintings and photos (AL) on: 2008 September 07, 18:32:47
Have you modified the originals or are these clones?

They're modifications, not clones.
99  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2008 September 07, 17:05:23
Thanks for the heads up about dead links Lerf, I hadn't checked that subfolder on box.net for quite some time and it turns out those files are gone.
There's no use in replacing them either since there are more updated downloads now.

Removed the links from my posts.
