Title: Bug or 'really cool feature' (fridge restocking problem)
Post by: tIIsuggas on 2006 July 09, 10:51:40
Shopping in the same neighbourhood community lots is a pain in the ass.  The meter doesn't even recognise that I have some shopping left.  Its ok if I order over the phone or computer, it knows how much to top up.

I was told on another forum that this is a really cool feature.

Is there a fix for this problem, if so, could I be pointed in the right direction please.

Retry

Before I installed OFB, I used to send sims to community lots to socialise, and top up their groceries. Everything was fine, the buy meter that pops up when buying groceries would account for what was already in the sims fridge.

Since installing OFB, when I visit community lots in the sims same neighbourhood ( haven't even tried subhoods).  The meter that pops up now does not recognise that there is still food left in the fridge, in other words it needs topping up completely, totalling $600 a time.

How many fridges do you have in your sim's house?

There is only one fridge.

I very rarely have more than one.

Oh, I only ask because sometimes I keep a cheap fridge in the nursery to easily get baby bottles etc. I would just buy online or over the phone then. Sorry I couldn't be more help. :)

Known bug, not fixed in the latest patch or by any hacks I'm aware of.  I just use Moniques computer from MTS2 now to express buy groceries, and only send my sims to community lots when I want them to meet some new folks.

It can be a good bug...I send sims to buy groceries at a store and they're able to purchase as many baskets as they want.  When they get home don't allow them to put away the groceries.  Once they set them on the ground just stuff the baskets in inventory and take them out as needed.

Hey, that's a great idea.  I'll have to remember that one.  I never buy groceries on community lots, but I will have to do that now when my sims are there.  I usually get the delivery guy, but sometimes I let the fridge get empty at the most inconvenient times, like when my sims are in hunger desperation.  I hate to buy new fridges, so this would be a better option to stock up on groceries.

I have Monique's auto delivery now, but before that I used to just buy a new fridge whenever the old fridge ran out.

ElfPuddle, where are you?

Sleeping. Sorry. (Yes, sleeping is for wusses. I know.)

Thanks, suggas, for fixing/translating your post. We do try to help, but we have to understand the problem first. Good job, people. Carry on!
