THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I gave them both a makeover and a backstory. So Coral is the old-money dame who was wooed over by young hotshot Herb, and despite Herb's wandering eyes and their occasional spats, they've managed to reach their golden yrs still together. True love in the unlikeliest of couples. Cheesy And Mary Sue is their adopted daughter whom they fell in love with on one of their many world travels.

Of course I cheated them a ton of dough, but I figure it's Coral's inheritance. So they live in a charming little colonial that's very blue-blood (heck, even the shingles are blue), and the decor is very country-cottage, but w/ worldly accents (stuff from their travels). Since Coral was getting on in yrs she decided to open up a flower shop. Very quaint, but with an adorable backyard that's right in the Park.

I'll come back later w/ some pictures. But they're both much more playable post-makeover. I've even held off on letting them die, cuz they're actually kinda fun now.

I always figured that the Oldies were to illustrate Elder WooHoo. In my game Herb and Coral usually interact up to 100/100 the first day and she then spawns virtually permanent "woohoo in bed" wants--as soon as it's met it regenerates at the rollover. Herb (like most of my romance sims) stays plat-happy alternating between bed and hot tub, fantasizing about multiple partners while never actually doing anything toward realizing that ambition.

As a soon-to-be elder myself (if not one already) I find her passion and his continued interest quite comforting!  Grin

Herb makes cute looking kids so he's been "sharing the love."  Wink

So is the lifetime high enough to help it otherwise?

meh... yeah, I like giving my families a bunch of kids because I enjoy the chaos and the challenge. So having the oldies adopt to add the additional difficulty of the time limit and the limited budget just made it a lot more interesting.
And additionally, if they both die before the adoptee goes to university, he/she gets a little more in scholarships.
