Shocked I did not know that!! Thanks for that info, definitely very interesting!!  Grin
52  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / New Elder faceplates? on: 2007 March 24, 19:05:46
I was just curious about the three elders that came with Seasons.  I noticed their faces are more graphicly enhanced than the elders who are aged in game by the players. Kinda reminds me of the Nightlife Mrs. Crumplebottom.  Cheesy

My question is, is this elder faceplate just for those three elders, or will they apply to elders that age from adults in the game?

Thank you sooo much everyone for your suggestions, I don't know what I'd do without your awesome help!  I will be getting my own tech person to put together a system for me, not a local store as I can't trust their prices and over exuberent sales pitches!

Okay so here's what I've gathered from your notes, the Intel 965 Motherboard (Integrated Video/Sound/NIC) part is okay?

The 3.2 GHz Celeron D/533 Mhz is not as good as the Celeron single core, but the duo core Celeron could be the way to go, or go with a single core Duron or AMD equivalent.

In reference to the 1 GB DDR2 533 MHz RAM, thank you jsalemi for the info, and I would definitely be adding another 1 gb of Memory to that!  Cheesy

The 250 GB S-ATA II WD 7200 RPM 16 MB HD, seems like a good size hard drive and I can always add another later on, if or when we get close to the 8th? expansion pack for the Sims2!!  Roll Eyes

As for the Antec 640TX 400W case, I figured this would not be sufficient especially for upgrading the graphic card, which would most likely be the Sapphire X1650 XT (or PRO) 256 MB, at a much more reasonable price of course!

So the Antec 480W PurePower 2.0  or higher would be a good choice?

I just really want to make sure I get the right stuff the first time, especially with the ever increasing graphics of the upcoming expansion packs.  I'd like to at least make it compatible for 3 to 4 years!  Grin

Its tax time again, and I am going try to have a new computer built for me.  At a local "Computer Solutions" store, I received the following quote and would sure appreciate an opinion on it.  Smiley

Intel 965 Motherboard (Integrated Video/Sound/NIC) . . .( NIC Huh )
3.2 GHz Celeron D/533 Mhz
1 GB DDR2 533 MHz RAM . . . (does this mean 1 gb of memory or 533?? soo confusing  Roll Eyes)
250 GB S-ATA II WD 7200 RPM 16 MB HD . . . (does this mean 250 gb of hard drive space, if so, what does the 16 MB for?)
16x Dual Layer DVD Burner w/ software
Windows XP Home
Microsoft Keyboard and mouse
Antec 640TX 400W case . . . (is this the power supply?)

Price ..........................$799.00 plus tax Canadian

Of course they advised adding the following:

CPU . . .  2.13 GHz Core 2 Duo / 2 MB . . . . $266.00
RAM . . . 2 GB KVR . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .$99.00
Graphic Card . . . Sapphire X1650 XT 256 MB . . . $204.00

all plus taxes

Subtotal of $1,368.00 plus taxes of course

With the 3.2 GHz Celeron D, I assume that is single core and they want me to upgrade to a duo-core?

Thanks so much!  Cheesy

Cheesy thank you soooo much for sharing, these are lovely, and nicely packaged too!
57  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Life Stories - Get the Stuffeths here! on: 2007 February 25, 09:05:29
Thank you guys soooo much for providing the life stories objects and floors too! I love new objects, especially maxis originals!  Grin

I was just wondering if anyone has used the dining tables in University yet? I have noticed that the dorm cook will not clear the dishes off these tables.  Not a really big problem as I don't mind having my Sims do some cleaning themselves, but just thought I would mention this in case there was a code that could be added or adjusted.

Thanks again for your awesomeness!!  Grin
58  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Beckoning Cat Decoration?? on: 2007 February 17, 15:14:17
Meh, I was afraid of that! Oh well, thanks for clearing it up JP!  Wink
59  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / The Beckoning Cat Decoration?? on: 2007 February 15, 11:39:14
Does this ornament do anything, just curious as it has a fun rating of 4.  I realize it has the same view option as the paintings and other statues and they do raise fun, but they don't specify a fun rating at all.  Shocked  Cheesy

Like I said, just curious and would love some opinions please!  Grin

60  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets patch released on: 2007 February 14, 12:51:47
As per usual, I am taking the great advise of this site and not installing this patch and will wait for the patch for the patch!  Roll Eyes

However I would like to mention that after breeding Regan and Cornwall Capp, I was surprised at the result, although they do not conform to the "beautiful sims category", I am sure they will breed some unique and more humanly normal features.

61  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: AwesomeSpec v5: House Building In ZOMGPETZ!!!111oneoneone on: 2007 February 12, 14:16:05
This is absolutely awesome!!

I've always wondered what a real playable house could or should look like, layout and all.  This has definitely helped my decision on what kind of houses I either want to download or build myself.  Since the contest of awesomeness, a while back, I actually used a couple of the houses from that contest and what a difference it has made.

The baby stations/nursery idea is definitely a great idea and I now use it all the time!!

Thanks!  Grin

64  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Radio Controlled toy car, still hazardous to game? on: 2007 January 24, 13:58:41
I haven't seen or heard anything about this in any forum dicussions or complaints lately.  I was just wonder if the problem was ever resolved or patched or whatever?

Seems such a shame to have in the game and can't use it!  Sad

Whew!! that worked, thanks Gill for all your help, no more bloating my download file!  Grin
66  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anyone got unlocked/categorized maxis athletic wear? on: 2007 January 08, 21:09:51
okay, so I've tried finding the property set for afbodydressflapper in names maps, but there are no property sets in any of the files that came up.  So I changed it to Find in Property Sets (don't know what property value is so I leave it blank).  When I search thru the property sets, it takes like 20 minutes to pull up any matches.  It shows the file is located in an "objects.pkg" is that right?

At that point I right click on the property set "afbodydressflapper_whiteflapper", click on "Extract to" and it asks me to save it to a folder.  However, as I am saving it, the name is totally changed to a set of numbers and stuff I don't recognize!  Is that the right way to do it?

so basically at this point, I am lost!  Cry
67  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anyone got unlocked/categorized maxis athletic wear? on: 2007 January 03, 03:03:42
thank you Gwill, I do appreciate your help, however, that procedure is for custom clothing only.  I am looking for the procedure for changing Maxis clothing categories without going thru bodyshop as that is very, very bad!!  Shocked

68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anyone got unlocked/categorized maxis athletic wear? on: 2007 January 03, 01:17:34
Those packages are totally awesome Morague!!!  Thank you so very much!  Cheesy

Is this procedure fairly easy to do?  I would love to be able to do it myself instead of bothering everyone for changing Maxis clothes to different categories!  I do know how to look up the names of the outfits in SIMpe, but beyond that, I don't have a clue! Roll Eyes

The ones I would like to change are the boys boxers/tanktops to wear as pajamas and the three flapper dresses to be included in everyday as well.

Thanks

70  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Building/Upgrading a PC for TS2 - Update, 08 September 2006 on: 2006 December 09, 18:14:21
Shocked well um *cough* guess I won't be buying that one!!!  Cheesy  I know I was being a silly twit even thinking about it but I was just hoping for a quick fix, and I did have a feeling it would be a dud, to good to be true type of thing!!  Roll Eyes

I know I can get a custom-made tower for at least $600.00 + tax Canadian with specs for gaming purposes, as indicated in these posts, but I will have to wait and save up the money for that  Roll Eyes Now with Christmas coming up, no chance in hell with that.

My game is just soo slow loading up played lots and going to community lots, and I can't play any lot larger than the 3 x 3.  I know I shouldn't complain, but seems like such a shame to play like that with a game which has soo much potential.

Oh well, hopefully in the new year!  Thank you for your opinions, I do appreciate them.  I knew you guys would tell me the harsh honest truth!  Cheesy

Hi, my telephone company is offering this Dell desktop computer for 36  monthly payments.  I would so value your opinions on the specs for this machine!  Grin

DELLTM DIMENSIONTM C521 desktop computer

-Processor:AMD Sempron¿ 3400+
-Memory:512MB, DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz
-Hard Drive:80GB Serial ATA
-Monitor:17 inch E773
-16X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW)
-Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE Integrated Graphics GPU
-Dell A225 Speakers
-56K PCI Data Fax Modem
-Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio
-Integrated 10/100 Ethernet
-Dell USB Keyboard & Optical Mouse
-Genuine Windows¿ XP Home Edition
-Microsoft¿ Works 8 (does NOT include MS Word)

I do realize the Nvidia cards are not recommended for good Sims2 play, but I would replace that with an ATI Radeon Card 850PRO or 1600PRO I believe it is.

Thank you.
72  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Looking for tutorial on making combined clothing packages? on: 2006 November 26, 23:54:19
thank you so much Gwiil, exactly what I was looking for!! and yes JMP, I know, copying bodyshop bad, that's why I wanted to know how Simbaby was doing the combo package thingy!!  Cheesy

omg, I'm looking for the property set names for the other jogging suits, and the colors are named like this . . .

mintwalk
lavenderjog
redrun

walk, jog, run bahahahaha and redrun is almost murder backwords too!! LMFAO!!
73  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Looking for tutorial on making combined clothing packages? on: 2006 November 25, 21:02:03
thanks JMP, but I'm just trying to find a way to keep my downloads, specially clothes, down to a minimum.  I just figured if Simbaby did it, perhaps I could too?!  Smiley
74  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Looking for tutorial on making combined clothing packages? on: 2006 November 24, 22:16:32
Actually that's exactly what I would like to do.  I changed the male teens undies, (tank tops + boxers) into pajamas, so I have 6 duplicate files for those ones.  Also did the same thing for the other adult and elder jogging suits, made duplicates to show up in athletic.

So I would need to just change the material definitions of these Maxis outfits?  So how would I go about doing this?
75  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Looking for tutorial on making combined clothing packages? on: 2006 November 23, 21:40:24
I did search, but I couldn't seem to find anything related to a tutorial.  I am looking for a tutorial on how to combine two or more outfits, from the same mesh, into one small package.

I have seen that the GLS female formals were extracted, catergorized to casual, and then made as a single package by Simscorner called "_GLSFemaleEveryday" and is only 20 kb which is awesome!  That's what I was wondering if there is a tutorial for that?

Or if it is too complicated a procedure?

Thank you
