have you tried editing the road after making the lot an apartment?

Yes. Still doesn't work.

Shocked Up until now, I have had no problems changing the lot terrain of streets nd sidewalks by suing moveobjects on. My neighborhood is medieval, so I use the lush dirt road tile called Near Dirt that matches the neighborhood road retain. This still works for residential lots and community lots, and is working in University and on vacation lots but for some reason, after I save, switch the lot zoning to apartment base, save again and leave, once I put a resident in an apartment I get back modern paved roads...very strange looking to say the least. Is there some new special thing one must do in AL to get the road terrain to match with the neighborhood road terrain?
3  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Command Line Won't Appear on: 2008 October 31, 20:18:56
Do you have some other program that uses CTRL-SHIFT-C as a hotkey?  Do a search here, as I'm sure this problem been mentioned a couple of times recently.

Just found out this morning that a recent update from HP introduced the command line for HP Health, thus knocking out the Sims command line. For anyone who wants to know, the command line can be accessed by using Control+S+windows key+C. Another facroe that knocks out the command line, from others assisting in finding the answer to this, saay that CursorXP will do the same thing.
Thanks for replying.

Built a set of apartments (really more like hovels) for some specific Sims that need that kind of environment and went to change the lot zoning after saving it all....command line won't appear! Any thoughts (and yes, I did prtess the right buttons) as to why this should all of a sudden happen? The only thing I have in the cheats folder is testing cheats enabled true.  Huh javascript:void(0);

Fixed it, I think. Note: You must also remove the hilr ftom the Collections folder as well as the SEDD files!

Angry When I change the lot zoning from residential to apartment base, the mailbox is not switching over to the apartment mailbox. I did save and re-enter and I did remove the SEDD buyable boxes abd reashcans. My game is patched with the EA AL patch. On the off chance that I did something wrong, I DL'd an apartment building from MTS2 that definitely showed the proper mailbox in the pictures. It now has a residential mailbox. Everything else seems to be ok...the doors work, the lease agent appears, etc...Any suggestions?

What it sounds like is that boolProp snapobjectstogrid is set to false. You didn't screw with your userstartup.cheat, did you?

That's what it turned out to be though how is beyond my ken. I have never fiddled with that particular command. We are now snapping objects as snappy as can be. Thanks.

No...I don't use a file for those but enter individually when I want them...and have never used that particular one..I did remove my download folder and the problem still exists without it so it's not CC....I will go back in and set that to true and see if that works....

Have you tried without CC?

Duh...brain not working...should have done that but didn't. Will do so and reprt back findings.

I installed AL 3 days ago. I made one apartment, changed the zoning, moved in Sims and the lot played without any errors popping up. I needed to build a new house for a Sim so I laid down a lot and placed the foundation and walls. When I went to put in the wondows and doors though, the objects did not ahve the requisite green square but the red. And when laid up agaisnt the wall a message appeared saying that must be placed in center of box. So I turned on move objects on and could palce them that way...anywhere I wanted to! Straddling boes halfway...straddling 3/4's...overlapping....but the objects were only visible from one side of the wall, even when carefully maneuvered. v ery ugly. Also, placing furniture is the same. Cna put it anyplace you want with moveobjects on turned on. When it isn't, the objects are squishy and do not snap onto place. (that's about as clear as I can eplain that..gues you ahve to be there...) This is a global problem. I tired placeing things on several different lots, new and used. Happens everywhere.

Any ideas for a fix? This is more than annoying.
Thanks.

Thanks you so very much! That fixed it! I was beginning to be afraid I was going to lose my game!
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Borked Game or Borked simPE? on: 2008 March 16, 16:48:45
History:
All EP's plus 2 stuff packs
Backed up game prior ro installing FT plus backed up again prior to installing new alpha version of simPE
performed clean install of new simPE

Now that we're up-to-date on that...the problem.

I made a new family in CAS and decided that I wanted them to be very short, so opened simPE. Went to the Neighborhood browser and opened up the NOO4 hood where these characters were placed. Then opened the SIM browser. ALl the SIMS showed up as usual. I edited a few things I wanted to add to their personalities and then went to Other to look at the character files. Nothing there. So I committed my changes and went to Open>EAgames<blahblah>NOO4>characters to find my subjects and sue the stretch feature to alter them. Couldn't access. So went to the simPE system check and it said there was something borked in being able to access the files and to click here and all would be right. SO I did. I went back to the Open>blahblah feature and sure enough, everything came up in teh tree and plugin just like ti was supposed to so I altered the little boogers adndclosed down. Played the game awhile and decided to do something different with one fo the characters so opened simPE again>Neighborhood>Sim browser....the popup came up with the top bar details etc but no SIMS!
I once again did the simPE system check and all the check marks came up green. So I uninstalled simPE and did another clean install but still have the same results. I am receiving no error messages. My next course of action was, since simPE had been working before these new characters,w as to assume there was something wrong with them. SO I went to the last backup and installed that in the game, replacing all the files. Still no satisfactory results. Obviously there is some problem between the two, my game and simPE, where the files are not reading. simPE is reading, however, the object files from the game. And a further note: I tried opening the sims browser for the other neighborhoods...doesn't work for them either. ANy suggestions (other than throwing out my game and starting over?) Thank you for reading this long-winded explanation. Wanted to make sure everything was covered.
