76  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Face Templates - 3 Complete Templates uploaded [28 Jan 2007] on: 2007 March 09, 15:01:29
TXSundown - I have already done this on page 8 of this thread. I'm afraid I'm not sure how much clearer I can make it but as your post undoubtedly took you a decent amount of time to type, I'll have another go.

Included in these zip files are ALL of the templates that Nailati has released so far. These are still in the beta stage so expect some changes at some point. Also not all of the toddler/child/teen templates have been released - only those for 02, 24 & 27 - so if your children are drawing from other templates they will still retain their maxis look.

There are two options for downloading as some people have problems with one or more of the download sites so download either from Rapidshare or Mediafire. The files once they are unzipped go into your /downloads folder. Note I have chosen to zip the files rather than rar them as some people are unable to use rar. (The links are in the 'quoted' section below).

How can you tell they are Nailati's? Well why not create a new sub folder (within the /downloads), call it Nailati's face templates and put all of the files in there? Each of the individual file names have Nailati's name included e.g. BETAFace-01AF-Nailati.package or Nailati_face-test_24-em.package.

Given the fact that you seem to want beauty rather than realism, I suggest you do not use these templates but rather go to MTS2 and download terrakosmos' face templates http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=135121 as they have made the differences between all of the templates less - so they will breed more 'beautifully'. Terrakosmos' templates are finished so they include toddler/children/teen/adult (young adult is the same as adult).

Giving sims surgery will change their look but it will not change their genes. This means that when they breed, the traits that you tried to get rid of may be passed on. If you want to ensure that does not happen, you will need to read this tutorial at MTS2 http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=56241 and follow the steps. Now this tutorial was written for SimPe 0.48C so it is a little old and the pictures have gone but it is very easy to understand.

You need to do is download the files and then extract them using winzip, 7zip etc. You need to put them into your downloads folder \My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads. As there are rather a few files, you might want to put them in a sub-folder and call it Beta Face Templates or something similar. If there is now Downloads folder within \My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\ it means that you have not installed any custom content and therefore must create one. If you have already downloaded face templates from elsewhere then you need to temporarily remove them from the Downloads folder or just delete them as Nailati's are bound to be nicer.

If you want to try out all of the beta face templates including the latest that Nailati posted, then download them here:

- Rapidshare.com
- Mediafire.com

Once you have put these files into your downloads folder, you need to delete the thumbnails so the game will regenerate with the new faces and not the old maxis ones, so go to \My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Thumbnails and delete CASThumbnails.package.

If the non-plant sim partner tries for baby & they are successful, the baby will be 'normal'. The only way to get a plant sim baby is to have a plant sim spawn one.

The plant sim babies work like alien babies in that they are a mix of the plant sim & a default npc something or other.

Nope, Monique uploaded a new one today: MQ_No_Autonomous_Play_Water_Balloon_Fight_SEASONS.zip

Ok I looked at MTS2 and even Insim where she is also putting her mods and I am not finding it. Could I get an exact link from someone please?

It is under Monique > No Autonomous Hacks linky

Until someone makes such a hack, why don't you lock the external doors for everyone?
82  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Are sims supposed to get a memory of being struck by lightning? on: 2007 March 04, 21:17:11
Eh? I though SimPe wasn't compatible with Seasons  Huh
83  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Odd things I noticed about Seasons on: 2007 March 02, 16:41:57
I noticed a very odd problem with the Ottomas family (from the bin).  The mother Samantha was already pregnant and gave birth to twins.  They're not related to their father.  Their "father" is Patricia Wan (O'Mackey -- she married Gabe), who Samantha has not even met.  Shocked   While amusing, it seems to be a serious glitch, possibly a VBT.

On the BBS people have been posting that the 'father' of Sam's babies have been Ariel - a dog!
84  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Odd things I noticed about Seasons on: 2007 March 01, 21:44:31
Not a negative but just wondering, why does McGreggor (single guy) have a barn on his lot that is made for animals with holding spots and everything? Did they plan to include animals in this pack or will this be coming later?

I have no idea but I was wondering the purpose of it too. I thought maybe I could chuck all my reward objects/ffs debugger/lot sync timer/macrotastics etc etc stuff in the stalls.

Re the Greenman household - I found that the wife wanted to be cured of Plantism but the hubby wanted to become a Plantsim.

Re the skilling - sims learn faster in Autumn so perhaps the other seasons were tweaked to accommodate that.

Re the skating - sims can get too hot from any form of exercise. One of my adult sims had to cool down *in winter* after exercising outside.

Not that I've noticed. I just tend & spray whenever possible and only apply for garden society membership in winter when the trees are dormant.
87  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons: What mods are you already begging for? on: 2007 February 28, 17:08:53
I would love to see a hack to adjust the days left per season (on a per-household basis if possible)...I would really prefer to have different houses on different seasons, if that's possible.

I thought you could buy the weather machine to change the season  Huh

Ah, I thought the nick sounded vaguely familiar.
90  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Someone have Seasons Bonus? on: 2007 February 27, 20:33:33
Eh, so screw 'em. Cancel the order, download the ARRficial version instead.

Does this mean you now have a copy of Seasons?  Tongue
91  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Someone have Seasons Bonus? on: 2007 February 27, 13:27:57
My EB Games store (Brisbane, Oz) said they didn't have the bonus as it was only an American thing so I am unfortunately bonus-less.  Angry We still got pre-order bonuses for all of the other EPs.
92  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets patch released on: 2007 February 25, 11:03:31
Well with Seasons starting to be released around the world it looks as if EA has missed an opportunity to surprise us all and fix the Pets patch.
93  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets patch released on: 2007 February 13, 00:27:24
I agree about it probably being fixed in the next expansion but the way things stand at the moment, many people are still unaware of the issue and happily downloading the patch. It would be nice if they either removed the Pets patch from general distribution or put some sort of caveat notice next to the patch so more people don't unwittingly get affected.
94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets patch released on: 2007 February 12, 22:53:56
Just in case you might have missed it, Maxoid Sam has posted on the BBS that EA is aware of the hair issue and they are looking into it now. Admitting you have a problem is the first step on the road to recovery so I for one am proud of EA's management team  Tongue

You can read it here but it is just a one liner.
95  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets patch released on: 2007 February 10, 14:56:57
EA is having a chat session on the 15th re Seasons. Given the time difference I probably won't be able to make it but it would be great if some people posted questions regarding the Pets patch and if a new one will be released...hint hint
96  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets patch released on: 2007 February 06, 04:17:25
Eeew, gross. What's SimDNA say?

Hair according to SimPe should be brown with a recessive gene of black.

I had called her Molly but I'm tempted to rename her Elvira lol.
97  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets patch released on: 2007 February 06, 00:29:18
I have just become victim of the eyebrow/hair mess-up -  take a look at this poor tyke. Why doesn't EA think of the children when they release patches with problems??  Cry

98  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Unable to retire pet from job on: 2007 February 04, 20:57:42
It has been sorted - not at the time of me posting this thread but a few hours afterwards the updated pets jobs package was released.
99  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets patch released on: 2007 February 04, 05:14:07
Hi Jordi,

Yes I vamped/de-vamped Lucy (her hair turned red), made her selectable and gave her some eye shadow via a mirror. She left the lot early in the morning and when she came back for her daily shift, her hair had turned back to blonde again. I don't know if this helps but the eye shadow was still there when she came to work so at least part of it is working.

I have checked her dna and she is definitely still down as having red hair as her dominant and recessive genes.
100  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Unable to retire pet from job on: 2007 February 04, 00:07:49
Aha, hopefully that will do the trick. I checked the index of hacks earlier today and it hadn't been changed so it must only be a few hours old.

Thanks heaps  Grin
