1  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Factoids and Statistics on Skill Gaining on: 2007 April 03, 21:44:15
Had a smart kid skill with the bookcase in fall and it seems like by the time I clicked to close the window, a new window would appear announcing a new skill point.  It was the fastest I've ever seen a skill bar increase.  I give it 2 thumbs up.  I should have him at max skills in less than 3 Sim days.
2  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Chance Cards: A Quick Gambler's Guide on: 2007 April 03, 21:38:05
hey JMP, any chance of getting the odds for the new seasons chance cards?
3  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Indoor Plant Fixes on: 2007 March 22, 13:17:03
Hey Hook, I thought using the TC would wipe out the stuck smart milk switch.  Are you saying it doesn't?
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Glitch Uni/Seasons ? on: 2007 March 07, 13:58:05
Playing a YA through Uni and come across the following problem.  My status bar is not reflecting that I've opened the entire bar by having the Skill requirements fulfilled.  It limits the progress to 1/3 bar.  HOWEVER, it does keep the correct amount internally as I have made the Deans list the last 2 semesters even though the status bar will not go higher than 1/3.   Has anyone seen this before?  Anyone have a solution?

Currently the only CC I have is recolors, clothing, genetics, walls and floor.  I don't have any other hacks at this time(waiting until everything gets ironed out).

TIA
5  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Pinstar's new Apocalypse challenge on: 2006 November 06, 13:12:17
My founder knows the Count.  I haven't decided if I want to make her a vampire or not but it's a definate possibility before she graduates.

What is the best way to determine which of the townies are near or at the top of their career track?  I want to pick out my spouse before I leave uni.  I know you can ask them what field they are in, but I want them near the top of it.
6  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Pinstar's new Apocalypse challenge on: 2006 November 06, 03:26:24
Thanks for all the responses.

To me, the obstacle course is the best skill builder bar none.  Since I can't find a way to put the course and a car beneath the house, i'm going to have to play around with them switching them back and forth.  The car(as I understand it) is basically so you don't miss a day of work by being late.

I have a female founder and my plan for her is to unlock the natural scientist, and have her spouse unlock business.  The next 2 I plan on unlocking are science and military in that order.  I plan on getting thinking caps when I unlock the science restriction unless I get abducted first.

I'm trying to figure out what 2 items I should bring back from college.  I am thinking about 2 snapdragons or 2 smart milks or 1 of each.  I need to unlock science and military as quick as I can so should trying for the stuck smart milk emitter be my main goal?  I usually have great luck in getting it.  Only 1 or 2 babies that my sims have had, have not had it.  What do you think?
7  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Pinstar's new Apocalypse challenge on: 2006 November 05, 03:39:04
A couple questions for you apocalypse players.

1. There is no restriction on the orb while the founder is still at Uni, is there?

2. Is there any way to get a car and the obstacle course(military career reward) placed at the same time?  You can't place either one of them anywhere but the ground floor because of the 8x8 rule until politics is lifted.  Do you have to make a choice of one over the other?  Do you just keep the course in someone's inventory until you need to get a sim up to 10 body?

3. When using the crafting tables after business is lifted, do you have to stick max 3 items in inventory?
8  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Chance Cards: A Quick Gambler's Guide on: 2006 October 26, 11:25:31
Hey JMP, can you find out the odds for the new pets chance cards?
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Werewolf & energy strategy on: 2006 October 22, 05:09:50
When I saw that Pets was going to be the new EP, I wasn't too excited.  I didn't really care for Unleashed and Pets looked like more of the same.  However, the werewolf has caught my interest.

Reason being is that i've heard the energy need gets maxed after change over at night.  The hunger need drops but it's a lot easier to fill the hunger need than the energy need.  Has someone verified this?  Does the energy need stay maxed or does it decay normally?  Decay or not, it still provides a way to to maximize your day by staying awake longer without using the energizer or cheats.  A werewolf combined with a couple snapdragons and maybe a cup of expresso or 2 would not need to sleep at all.

What are some of your plans on playing with werewolf sims?
10  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Chance Cards: A Quick Gambler's Guide on: 2006 June 01, 11:45:27
I tried to to the best I could with what I knew at the time.  If you can list what you think may be wrong, i'll see what I can do to correct it.

When in doubt, go Pescado.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Jitters on: 2006 May 24, 21:40:30
The graphics card should have nothing to do with jitters.  It's not a graphic problem.

It's a reaction from drinking coffee or expresso.  I seem to be able to get them at home and on community lots.  Usually when i'm red on energy.  It happens only after a couple cups for me.

I was wanting to know if there is a greater likelihood of getting jitters with a lower energy bar than with a higher energy bar.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Jitters on: 2006 May 23, 21:40:21
Can one of you code guru's tell me exactly what triggers jitters?

I know you have to drink coffee or expresso to get it, but what triggers it?  drinking coffee at a red energy state?  if you drink coffee with a green energy bar, do you still get jitters?

Inquiring minds an all of that.

I know somewhere I read a little about business oppurtunies YA's had at Uni and some things different people had tried.

I've searched but I can't find it.

So I'm starting this post.

What businesses have you started in Uni?
Have you put the crafting tables at a dorm or greek house?
Does Servo help clean up?

I know the feeling.  Last year we had to put down my wife's Rottweiler.  She was an inside dog and I got closer to her than any other pet i have ever had.  She had cancer and we had her on steroids for a while but it got to where we had to make a choice.  Was having her with us worth all the pain she was going through.

Remember all the good times and the pain will pass.

Thanks for the help
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Neighborhood phonebook on: 2005 November 01, 17:03:45
I think I read somewhere(I can't remember where or even when exactly) that in the University EP, you were given the option of calling anyone at the University through the Uni phonebook.  Wether it be trying to get into a greekhouse or a professor to up your gradepoints.  You didn't have to meet them, you just had to know their name.

I was wondering if someone had come up with a way to do that with the base neighborhood.  If someone already has, could you tell me where I can get it.  If no one has, how hard would it be to get the phone book to pull a list of all living sims attached to your neighborhood(universities and downtowns).

Thanks

This has nothing to do with romance or lovers, but personally I love the ecological guru career. A pregant female can make 70K a week with perfectly timed pregancies. She still racks up a load of vacation and makes a fortune.

How do you do that?Huh

22  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Chance Cards: A Quick Gambler's Guide on: 2005 October 17, 13:27:17
JMP is correct in that area.  The list was created based solely on the odds and doesn't really take into account gain/loss if it's not 50/50.  He's also correct that the demotion is probably the least damaging thing to happen.  I will take that into account and see how many keywords it would change the next time I look at it.

Looking back at it, "Meet" for medical 10 is not the best choice.  It's a 50/50 card but if you did do it, "Send Away" would be better.  You would probably already have 3 cooking for Medical.

The only way you are guarenteed not to lose anything is to ignore every chance card.  Otherwise, it's a gamble either way.  I have all the information in an excel sheet for the base careers.  If you want, I could let people have the excel sheet and then they could know exactly what the risk vs reward is.

There are 5 chance cards for each Uni career but I was not sure of the accuracy of the list I saw so I did not include them.
23  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Chance Cards: A Quick Gambler's Guide on: 2005 October 14, 16:50:03
I used JMP's table and created this list.

I will list them from job level 1 to 10.

The keywords will take the highest odds of working(84-85%), or if 50/50 odds, will take the outcome that is least damaging(loss of money before loss of skillpoints before demotion before loss of job).

***--Keywords in which the choice has good odds(84-85%) but in which the bad outcome is "Fired" will have ***'s around them to warn you of a "possible" loss of job.
#----Keywords in which the chance is 50/50 will have #'s in front of them.

I'll have to admit, MTS2 is a lot better now.

I use Firefox and the screen was giving me a lot of problems.
I also did not like the requests being in the same area as the mod threads.
Thanks for moving those out of there.

Nectere is right, I want the link to go to the last post in the thread back.  It's a pain the way it is.
