1  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Apartment Hack: Now For Non-Fat Gwilly People! on: 2009 December 05, 09:13:20
My thread here http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,17446.0.html were locked, but it might be more appropiate to post here anyway.
I downloaded the fixes from the al hack index this time - these:
alfixes
creaturefixes
dramafix
ffsdebugger
fishandharvestfix
ftminifixes
nocorruptdeath
nolinkondelete
ofbfixes
orchardtreefix
snsnpcslotfix
stuckobjremover
vacationfixes
winterflowerfix
woohooltwfix

and the problem re-appear, so I have now tested it, by taking one fix out at the time. It seems that it is the alfixes that creates the problem. I have also tested with alfixes alone. Without alfixes the love letters goes to the inventory, with alfixes the love letters dissapear.

2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Loveletters dissapear on: 2009 December 05, 06:41:57
Well ... it was one of them hacks. Just tried without and the loveletter appear properly in the inventory. You know, I always tell others to remember to update their hacks and then I do something like this. I donīt know what to say, feeling pretty stupid right now.

Thank you for helping Smiley
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Loveletters dissapear on: 2009 December 03, 16:29:36
Thanks Tarlia, nice to know that Iīm not alone. Iīll go through the fixes and remove the unnedded ones Smiley and Iīll send my sim on a date in vanilla ... letīs see what happens then
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Loveletters dissapear on: 2009 December 02, 20:28:03
Do you need NL Anti-Crash Fix?

Honestly I have no idea. I just kept it because I didnīt know if that was fixed in a later EP, and I do not know where to go look for that kind of information. But I assume that I should remove it, right? Smiley Guess that I should also remove the Hygiene Bug Fix and Get In Car Fix.
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Loveletters dissapear on: 2009 December 02, 19:54:00
My sim had a date and recived a loveletter, but it never showed up in her inventory  Huh

6  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Graphics Problem and Crashing on: 2009 July 24, 15:27:09
I donīt know if this is your problem, but when my game start to act like that, removing the dust from the fans, videocard and CPU helps a lot ! I use a tiny soft brush and a ton of patience.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can't place empty lot on flat terrain. on: 2009 July 23, 17:15:27
It is not always obivious, some of those hood decorations leaves "invisible puddles" (I donīt know what else to call them) preventing you to place lots, even though you have deleted the decoration. I have recently been fighting with the train deco ... exiting the hood and go back, seems to clean up the terrain.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Apocalypse! How many are left? on: 2009 July 09, 14:21:46
I am staying with TS2.
I donīt know if I would have liked TS3 or not, but after Freetime I decided that I am not going to hand more money over to EA ... never. I bought IKEA, AL and M&G in a secondhand store ... and I donīt want to download the arrrīd version, because of principles Smiley
9  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Unofficial AL Patch - Assorted Fixes on: 2009 June 18, 09:39:19
Yes, that worked  Smiley bah

Quote from another player
Quote
I move the second family in and the first one came home from work before she should and showed a wall in the way bubble but then
she walked back to work when she came home later she was able to enter her unit on her own.

So as far as I can tell it works now with a few quirks but it works.
Donīt know if it is important
10  Awesomeware / The Armory / Problem with apartments and ALFixes, it seems. on: 2009 June 16, 10:28:10

The ALFixes dated April 26 seems to break "new" apartment lots.
The Landlord never tries to shake the potential tenant's hand with hack in.
The Check Out Apartment interaction isn't working correctly with the hack in.
The sim will perform the action but the door stays closed and never opens.
If you do manage to rent the apartment cause it wants to drop from queue,
the tenants the game spawns may complain about blocked apartments doors.
This breakage seems to happen mostly on fresh new lots without any tenants.

This has been tested in both vanilla and non vanilla games by a few different players with the same results.
The Hack dated March 28th works fine but April 24 and April 26 one does not.
All players tested had the latest AL patch and M&G installed.

In this case, vanilla means "with nothing but the ALFixes"  Smiley
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: no socials group hack/mod/thing ? on: 2009 May 23, 14:38:32
Thanks Kyna for taking the time to explain all this ... I have never used the printLotClass "cheat" ... never thought that I would need it ever *LOL*

I did a seach, have been reading and need to do a lot more reading, before Iīm ready to throw myself and my sims in to all this ... but now at least I have an idea of what I need to do.

aaah, I just so wished it would be as easy as the nodormierespawn thing ... guess you canīt have it all Smiley
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: no socials group hack/mod/thing ? on: 2009 May 20, 11:45:49
If the problem is that you don't want EAxis fuglies flooding your hood, then why not make your own social townies?

It will be either that solution or no apartments at all. The downside is that I will have the same socials, that will be neighbors to my sims, generation after generation, but maybe I can change their looks along the road and imagine that they are someone else. Maybe it will be fun to fool around with BS again Smiley

I will have to create 4x5 types of social groups, to be on the safe side, right ? And do I need to give them skills, jobs, badges and such first or will the game reset them, when I turn them into socials ?
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: no socials group hack/mod/thing ? on: 2009 May 19, 15:42:43
You have to occupy all the units, and you have to occupy them fast, before other sims are needed to stock them. Notownierespawn will halt the generation of unneeded inhabitants, but the game will still spawn the minimum number needed to fill out an apartment building.

Undecided .... that was not the answer I was hoping for, oh sigh

and bribing or begging someone here, wonīt help at all ? When it comes to begging, I could sink really low

OMG, I canīt believe I actually wrote that
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / no socials group hack/mod/thing ? on: 2009 May 19, 13:13:38
There are notownieregen, nostrayrespawn, nodormieregen, antivacationactions and so on hacks ... why is there no nosocialgroupsrespawn hack ?
Or did I just fail completely when searching for one ?

I have spend so much time building up a hood, with as few EAxis sims as possible and I really want to keep it that way. It annoys me to no end, that I canīt move in one of my sims in to an apartment building, without having a bunch of ugly EAxis sims flooding my hood ... yes it is stubborn and stupid, but I really really really do not want those social groups.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Restoring the pre-Seasons sky (Help needed) on: 2009 April 19, 07:35:32
I'm thinking you are the only one obsessing about this, parrot.

No, we are at least two ... the sky after Seasons are plain boring.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: simcity questions on: 2009 February 20, 15:11:08
Having no knowledge of sim city I noticed that in videos on the simcity site there are sims present as part of the game, but I cannot find info as to if they are playable similarly to sims in the sims 2 or only act as active background figures.

According to the booklet that comes with SC4 you can import your TS1 sims to your SC4 hood. I have never tested it, but your sims should then report back to you about how their lives is going .....

Honestly, I'd be happy if I just didn't have to make all of them myself in CAS.

I have 72 sims that you can have. See them here http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v157/Mizz_Rose_Bud/RoseBrook/Sims/

These are old pics and they are using Lyrans skintones, but they do not look very different with the EAxis skintone. If you are interested, I will fire up BS. Smiley
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sharable Custom set of townies? on: 2009 January 21, 11:35:17
Well, if Pes says that, it might be a good idea to listen.

I can try to find a link, if you'd like to see the discussion.

If it is me you are asking, then donīt bother. I only play one hood and have no need for testing it out. Just repeted what others have said Smiley

19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sharable Custom set of townies? on: 2009 January 20, 07:59:57
There is one way to get your custom characters as townies forever: just set up a custom neighborhood as you want it, from SaraMK and Jordi's great guides (put clean templates in place etc), then make a backup of the neighborhood. If you want to revert to your original townies, just delete the old neighborhood from the Neighborhoods folder and replace it with your backup.

This only works if you're willing to trash the first 'hood you made.  However, the general idea does work well if you want to share the entire 'hood.

There is a program called PowerRen 2000. I know that other players have used it to rename the files in a Nxxx folder, if they want to run the same hood in different ways. Apparently it works fine for them, so with that and Terrain Surgery, it shouldnīt be impossible.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is anyone really good at making beach-friendly neighborhood terrains? on: 2008 December 10, 12:51:49
I have some "beach terrains" here http://home20.inet.tele.dk/rosebudsims/sc4.htm ... it is the first/upper six ones and they work okay for me. The rest were made before BV and I donīt think that they would be very good for beach lots.

I start with "a water hood" in SC4 and then raise a tiny bit of land, just so much that it shows through the water. Then I use the Plain tool (God mode) to raise the ground where I want land. Thatīs the easiest way to get a working coastline IMO.
21  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: SimSheet (a sim-tracking program) [Now with Aspiration and LTW tracking!] on: 2008 December 02, 04:49:53
hmmm ... when I come to think about it. I think that I might manually have set PSP to open all kind of image files ... it is under Perferences ... File Association or something like that, Iīm at work so I canīt check it right now.

Oh btw ... is it possible to get that QA version, to test this out. I were at the SimPE site, but as always, I couldnīt ffind what I was looking for. Iīm blind
22  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: SimSheet (a sim-tracking program) [Now with Aspiration and LTW tracking!] on: 2008 December 01, 18:36:12
SimSheet gives me a choice to look for .jpg or .gif, but the SimPE output is in .png files.  I can see these as thumbnails and using image preview when I'm browsing through the files on my computer, but opening them in Paint Shop Pro doesn't work, I merely get an error message.  Ordinarily with corrupt/incorrectly saved files, I have the opposite problem - Windows won't preview it but PSP will quite often manage to open it.

That said, I just remembered I've got The GIMP on this computer and, having tried it, that will open them.  So maybe it is just my copy of PSP, who knows, or a problem with PSP in general? 8/

That is odd. I have Paint Shop Pro 8 and I have no problems with opening, editing and saving png files, no problems at all.
23  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: SimSheet (a sim-tracking program) (work in progress) on: 2008 October 12, 13:24:16
Oh my ... well that explain a lot  Roll Eyes

It just sounded like you had it up and running, from the posts above ... guess that I need to have a bit more patience.

24  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: SimSheet (a sim-tracking program) (work in progress) on: 2008 October 10, 12:59:55
Have to ask ... how do you make SimSheets work ?

I downloaded the file from the first post, hoping that there were a explanation in the readme ... I canīt find anywhere in the thread that says anything about what to do after downloading and unzipping the pack ...

Am I completely blind ?

I assume that I need the csv file, and I know how to make one ... I just donīt know where to put it afterwards or how to import it to the program.

25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does anything like this already exist? Is this even possible? on: 2008 October 10, 12:13:09
I really liked the idea of a purchasable "potion" or something that reduced chances for a limited amount of time, much more than hacks that always reduce that chance.  I'm still hoping it's possible or doable.  Perfume has a duration and an effect.  Perhaps just designing a new effect and potion bottle?  It's way beyond my abilities, though.

I really like that idea too ... and Parsimonious already have the bottles, they just need to be "filled"
