C'mon people, pony up!

$50 from me.

Yeah, this has nothing to do with CAS being fucked up.  It's your computer.  With those specs, the mystery isn't why you're having trouble now, but why you were able to play on that machine in the past.
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE MUNICIPALITY NEEDS YOU! SUPPORT THE MUNICIPALITY! on: 2011 June 25, 19:47:43
Can't stand Sims 3, but donated $25 in gratitude for all the Sims 2 help I've gotten here in the past, and continue to get even now.

Weird.  Unfortunately, we're at the end of my limited troubleshooting skills.  Good luck.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Please help me fix this BS on: 2011 April 15, 19:39:40
My problem with Microsoft OS's is the ever increasing bloatware each new one comes with.  Even if easy to use, I resent having a bunch of shit I didn't ask for and can't easily remove being part of the install.
6  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Issues with Maxis clothing on: 2011 April 15, 03:02:01
My current theory is that something stuck around after I uninstalled that is still causing problems even with the new install.

If you didn't do a manual uninstall, which is necessary to ensure that all game file bits are removed, that's probably the next thing to try.

Meh.  I couldn't care less about the Apple/Microsloth debate.  They BOTH suck for various reasons, so it's just a matter of choosing your poison.  What chaps my ass is when Sims 2/3 fans whine about the computer they just bought not running the game well because they neglected to do their homework about specs first.   Tongue
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Please help me fix this BS on: 2011 April 13, 17:58:57
Bare minimum specs provide mediocre performance on lowest settings.  Try playing with anything on high, and performance will suffer.  The best answer you'll ever get is to upgrade your machine or put up with crappy game performance.  Simple as that.

As a long time reader, you seriously expected a welcoming attitude here at MATY   Huh
10  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean Uberhood (Merged EAxis neighbourhoods) - NOT the same as HP's/Mixreality's on: 2010 March 21, 16:53:44
"Baaaa" to you, Tarlia!

I've always loved the idea of a merged 'hood and was ecstatic when HP made hers.  I'm glad, now, that I've never actually gotten around to playing it since it's known now to be a bad option.  I switched to Mixreality's, but then saw where she declared that she'll use yours over her own which convinced me that yours is the one to go with.  (I swear, I spend far more time running down information on this game than I do playing it!  Cheesy)

Anyway, I haven't done anything more than install it yet, but wanted to let you know I appreciate you for sharing!
11  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2009 May 03, 00:36:50
Oh duh.  I use nannies so rarely, I forgot.   Tongue
12  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2009 May 02, 17:41:11
A nanny on the lot suppresses the SS from ever coming, yes. If you lock a nanny into a bed, the nanny can never leave since control is never returned to the nanny until it can leave the bed, so the SS will never come. The presence of enough mixed snapdragons will keep the nanny from ever desiring to even LEAVE the bed, as an "Evil" snapdragon will periodically deplete its energy while the "good" ones refill all the other motives lost to decay and the evil snapdragons, creating a permanent Sleeping Beauty nanny.

That is quite the brilliant and chuckle-inducing idea!   Cheesy  What happens to the nanny's van, though?  Any borkage potential here?
13  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Hot tub animations missing on: 2009 April 30, 22:20:45
Well, hmmm.  It's possible I've never had an affair couple making out in the hot tub either (my game is too tame!) so I can't speak to that either way.  But now I'm very interested to know just how many hot tub make-out animations there are.

Attraction (boltage), which is all "the hotter they have it for one another" could mean for purposes of objective game functioning, as opposed to subjective sense of how "hot" a sim couple CAN have it for each other, doesn't seem to be a determining factor, though.  My three-bolt YA/adult couples - married or not (to rule that out) - don't use the "hotter" animations the one-bolt teen couple I saw the other night did.  So I'm still thinking it's age-related, although now I've got to try an affair to if I'll see what you've seen.

Your "They were going at it for hours." makes me wonder about that, because I can't imagine one couple's make-outs being longer than another's, aside from difference in length between different animations.  I could certainly be wrong, but I'm pretty sure make-outs are preprogrammed to be a set length.  I figure "going at it for hours" is either a figure of speech on your part, or they were stacking up several make-outs that looked like one long one.

If that sounds snarky, I don't mean for it to.  It's just that I've got what I suspect is a tetch of the OCD, can be very literal, and am a stickler for specific, deliberate observation and testing before I can comfortably go with what someone else says is true when I haven't seen it for myself.   Wink

Risking cries of necromancy...

A few days ago, I had some teens making out in the hot tub, and I noticed the animations in the center of the tub that you referred to.  It's the first time I'd ever seen them.  It may also very well have been the first time I'd had teens making out in the hot tub, believe it or not.  Seems likely to me that teens have one set of animations and YAs/adults have another.  Now I'm curious about elder hot tub make outs.   Cheesy
15  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Can't place modular stairs on: 2009 April 30, 19:36:55
It is dumb that you can't run on the spiral stairs... Too bad no one could fix that.
It's confirmed that the no running things on the spiral stairs is unfixable?  Crap and double crap.  This thread reminded me that I've been meaning to ask here about that very thing, but I guess I've got my answer.  I know Pes hates slow sims and has his run everywhere, and figured if anyone had been able to fix it, he'd have done it by now.  Instead, here he is talking about spiral stair virtues, surprisingly.  I mean yeah, I love the look and small footprint, but the slowness of sims using them has me so "GAHHH!!!" frustrated I can't stand to use them anymore.  Grr.

Literally.
"Literally."  Seriously?  Gah, my headache just got worse.

Also, new OFBfixes, including fix for ghost haunting, now fixed.
"Baaa!" to you, I say.  "Baaa!"  I don't have an owned cemetary yet, but it's nice to know this problem is fixed before I even encounter it.   Cool

HOT DAMN, it worked!!! Thanks, Pes!    Grin Grin Grin

Edit:
Aaaaand... bored now.  There's only one "questionable" thread still posted, and it's locked.  Everything else is deadly dull if I can only look but can't answer questions.  *sigh*  Gotta get packing anyway.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: TSR Privacy Violation on: 2009 March 30, 23:18:59
Your first ban today?  SLACKER!
Cheesy

I have to admit, it sucks not being able to see what's going on now.  Probably just as well, though.  I was supposed be leaving on a road trip today, but I'm so behind on getting ready for it I'd be optimistic to think I'll be out of here before noon tomorrow.  So it's good thatl I don't have that distraction anymore.  Except wait... I'm HERE now instead.  Oy vey.   Undecided
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: TSR Privacy Violation on: 2009 March 30, 22:16:00
My new TSR password is FUCKYOUTSR.  That's not terribly original either, but I enjoyed making it anyway.

Also got my first BBS forum bannination today.  Yeah Yay me.   Grin

The winners are those of us who suck at building - each month we get a variety of well-built, interesting, mostly awesomespec, cc-free lots to download.
Delurking to say I whole-heartedly agree with this comment, and to express my appreciation to you all for the fabulous lots I now have to play with.  You guys rock!   Grin
21  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: First Cousins Once Removed and Second Cousins Treated as Family on: 2009 February 01, 17:16:34
Two cents incoming:

I hate how few generations it takes before sims cease to recognize certain relatives as family, but I wouldn't want a mod that would disallow marriage between second cousins.  I'm not currently involved in playing an entire neighborhood at the moment, but I plan to in the future, and having the occasional second cousin pairing will be helpful for population control.

I would, however, love to have a mod that would make the game recognize direct descendents better.  I think the game only goes as far as grandparent/grandchild, but doesn't recognize great grandparent/great grandchild, right?  Would be nice if it did.

(I'd also love a mod that would make enable the player to disable romantic wants and interactions between in-laws, on a case by case basis.  Family sims should not be wanting to flirt with their kids' spouses.   Tongue )

Just wanted to say that as wonderful as these glitches are in general, the textures bork is one of the most delightfully bizarre things I've seen in a long time.  Thank you! Cheesy

Yay!  4x4 is as big as I prefer go for a residential, so that and positive playtest results are good to hear.   Smiley

May I ask what size lot you used?

At any rate, it's absolutely fabulous - thank you!  *yoink*
25  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: I think my sim is corrupt on: 2008 December 01, 01:19:26
Eh, why not just focus on recreating family ties, if he has any family?  For non-family, link him back up with a handful of the most important friends and/or lovers and let him re-meet the rest.  Newly created, he'll be back at the beginning of his adult phase, I assume.  If so, there's plenty of time for rebuilding the rest in-game.   Smiley
