I will say, though, that to the extent I can be aroused by a group of pixels, I can just as easily be aroused by TS3 teens I create as TS3 YA's I create, and anyone who claims they are aroused by some TS3 adults but never by TS3 teens, I don't believe. I'd believe someone who said they weren't ever at all aroused by a TS3 character as they're cartoons, but not by someone who said they were aroused by TS3 YA's but not TS3 teens.
I think that it's time for AwesomeMod to give Anonym the pedobear trait.

Sim-socializing in TS2 is far more dull-looking than it was in TS2
I assume that you mean "Sim-socializing in TS3 is far more dull-looking than it was in TS2". Anyway, this is one of my main problems with TS3... I enjoyed watching families in TS2, but I find TS3 really boring.

I love all of these rowhouses. Damn, ninja'd again. :p Ah well my idea wasn't so creative anyway and Bliss' came out better than mine was going. Can I break rule and use custom content instead of being un-lazy trying to create a different floor plan? I don't care about "winning," but I'd like to participate with a lot that people won't have seen for the third time Please don't use custom content.

Not quite the same, since most of Sleepycat's sims were made with all EPs; they're not likely to be compatible with the EP that they shipped with.
Does anyone know of a cleaned version of these sims which is actually compatible with the EP?

How would you remove the foundation?
Move the ground level back up to the road level (so that the house is 3 stories instead of 2), replace the foundation walls with normal walls, and put the front door on the previous foundation level?
Or, were you thinking about just rebuilding the house from scratch without the foundation?
Either way, I'd say that it's OK to remove (or add) a foundation level, if you feel that it's necessary for your vision.

This month's lot is the European Townhouse from the base-game lot bin. Amazingly, the lot edges are already flat. I've packaged the lot and attached it here, for anyone who's lost their copy. Rules, cut and pasted from last month: 1. No CC. Please indicate expansion and stuff packs so people who wish to download your lot know what to expect. Pictures are required, either available for download, on a slideshow, or posted in this thread. 2. By entering this challenge, you agree to take constructive criticism. If you wish to judge someone else's entry, you should be respectful but honest. 3. Your lot does not have to be Awesomespec, although it is encouraged. 4. You may move internal walls and add external walls but you may NOT move original external walls. 5. Lots may be furnished, unfurnished, or partially furnished. You can even upload both furnished and unfurnished versions. Monthly rules: 6. Bonus points if you can keep the upstairs balcony intact. I'm open to suggestions for other bonus rules.

If you're going to remake a TS3 house in TS2, you should try to make it base-game compatible (ie, no EPs or SPs using the AnyGameStarter), so that everyone can participate.
I'm afraid that I have problems convincing myself to play TS3, so I have no ideas about which houses would fail the most.
Threads for previous months have several lists of possible TS2 houses; does anyone see one that looks interesting to them?

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / NoPedoStalkers gives error

I have all EPs, up to and including OFB, and all SPs. No CC except for nopedostalkers. Completely fresh game. I enter the Goth house in Pleasantview, select Cassandra and click on Don to have her interact with him, then get an error. Error log attached.

Some browsers will (incorrectly) add a .xml or .txt file extension to AweConf.package. If you remove the extraneous extension, the game should be able to read the configuration file.
Wich files are you talking about?? In the folder there are just two files: the AM file and the file generated by the Tool. What do I have to remove?? That's correct, there are only two files: awesome.package and aweconf.package. However, you said that awesome.package is working and aweconf.package is not. This can only happen if something has gone wrong. For example, your download may be corrupt, in which case downloading it again should fix it. However, it sounds like you are having this problem consistently, so I was looking for another explanation for your problem. One thing that people have reported is that their browser adds either .xml or .txt to the downloaded configuration file, so that it is named aweconf.package.xml or aweconf.package.txt. The game will not read these files; it will only load files with the .package file extension. The operating system can exacerbate this problem by hiding the file extension from you, so that the file appears to be named aweconf.package, even though it isn't. If this is your problem, then removing the extraneous .xml or .txt file extension should solve your problem. I would also recommend changing your system so that file extensions are never hidden. On Windows XP, you can change this option by running the Windows Explorer and choosing Folder Options from the Tools menu. Go to the View tab and uncheck the option named "Hide extensions for known file types".

Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: About the online AwesomeMod Configuration Tool
|
on: 2009 September 20, 21:37:45

Hey I'm trying to configure the Awesome mod but I think that the file that the Tool generates doesn't work I had configured something like TS2 aging, or the anti-censors, but none of this is present in the game! I don't know why...is there an other way to change the configuration of the mod?? The configuration tool works fine for many people. Did you try typing in the showconfig cheat to see the options in-game? If showconfig doesn't reflect the options which you chose, then make sure that your configuration file is named "AweConf.package" (not AweConf.package.txt or AweConf.package.xml). Be aware that your operating system may be hiding the real file extension from you, but the game will refuse to read any package which does not have the .package file extension. If your file is not named AweConf.package, then that is not a bug in the configuration tool, but in your internet browser. The other alternative is to create an XML file which contains your selected options, then package that XML. If you aren't sure of the format, you could extract the XML from the AweConf.package which you downloaded, make changes to that XML, then repackage it into the original AweConf.package. Of course, this won't help you if your configuration file does not have the correct file name.

I have put the aweconf.package.xml in the same folder as my mod (C:\Games\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages).
This is your problem. The file is named aweconf.package not aweconf.package.xml. If you really have the package file, then just rename it. If, on the other hand, you actually have an XML file, then you need to package it correctly, or else download the correct aweconf.package from the configuration web page.

Because of the octagonal shape, roofing would be next to impossible in a Base Game setup.
It's possible, however, it would look weird. ETA: Rebuilding in progress. Since Liveangel is already rebuilding this lot for the base game (and with flattened lot edges, I hope), I vote that we do this lot this month and a more traditional lot next month.
