1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Help transfering files on: 2009 July 08, 14:12:51
So, I am going to have spend my points from S3 site from my granddaughters computer so the I have the Launcher, her's has internet connection.....but what I need to know is, if the Launcher puts items directly into the game, can I simply transfer those files to a flash drive to put it in my game? Has anyone else done this? Can I just do that or is the Launcher doing anything else when it adds stuff to the game? "My" computer is partitioned. My gaming partition has no internet connections and just bear bones for gaming.....so I can't use my points as the EA site can't find the Launcher from the internet partition.

Thanks guys

I don't understand what is so hard about it all anyway.  I also have the sims on its own drive, with no internet connection, and I managed to get everything from the store, including Riverview, into my game- all by myself!  I also managed to get the arr version there too.  Download the things on your drive with internet connection(search here and ye shall find!) and then put them on the other drive.  Presto!

Thanks...that was straight and simple!

I cam here because I was looking for knowledgeable help...as for cross stitching? I haven't a clue, I don't sew.

Oh, for heaven's sake!  If you have a registered version, you just click on the "download new neighborhood" option on your registration confirmation email.  The download will use the launcher (yes, I know that's bad) and you can download and install Riverview that way.  I don't have the download manager installed either.

Why so nasty!?  It's not that easy for me. I have my Sims on it's own drive. No internet connection and nothing running but the essentials......I come here for help not snooty ass people that run others off with their superior little insecure attitudes! Not every is a tech know how...If I brought you into my expertise....could diagnose an ill pet, can clean and stitch properly....most likely not

I sent an e-mail of the following to EA tech. Anyone that may have answers? I would greatly appreciate your intelligence here as I am ignorant on the subjects as to how to fix it

*I still do not have the Sim points I was to get with the purchase of the game
*I can't get the download manager to even open
*My Sims are on their own drive, it has no Internet connection and all is shut down for better game performance...how does the download manager work with that, ONCE I GET IT TO OPEN?

Thank you for your time,
CloudDancer Mogle (LadyV)

The guide I got at Best Buy is a large one. It was $19.99, came with a mouse pad and huge town map of where to find all the gems, bugs etc....after your frequent user thing-a-jig...it was $18 something after taxes

I've been toying with the idea of getting that one, but I couldn't find out anything about the mouse pad.  It is one of those foam-ish ones or one that is friendly to wireless/laser mouses?

It's fairly thin, seems as if it would work fine. I have a roller ball so I haven't tried it...the map is just awesome!!! The book itself is large and hardback!

Ehya,

I'm LadyVatrovia's hubby, I do the grunt work for her to play.

I have a question about the launcher, please excuse if this is not the appropriate place to ask, I've never been here, but I see talk about the launcher in this thread.
If someone directs me out of this thread to one more appropriate, that will be fine

If this launcher is the protocol that will connect to the EA store and download stuff, what does one do when the Sims is installed to a platform of its own? No network, no connection, not even so much as a NIC installed.

Thanks,

D
