Title: Romancemod query
Post by: witch on 2005 August 10, 10:06:29
Tonight Jennifer (romance) had a woohoo with Spock. Winona (popularity) arrived at the bedside and slapped Jennifer silly. Winona and Jennifer had a woohoo yesterday but were not going steady or engaged. I thought the romancemod meant the sims did not get jealous if they were not in a committed relationship. Have I misunderstood?

"Romance Mod (v1.3b) for TS2 v1.0p2 & TS2U v1.0
Made by: Flying Fish Systems (J. M. Pescado & Doctor Boris)

Special Thanks To:
Quaxi, for writing SimPE

Congratulations to: Draklixa!

INSTRUCTIONS:
Place in your MYDOCU~1\EAGAME~1\THESIM~1\DOWNLO~1 directory.

CHANGES:
Significant alterations to the way romance and jealousy works: Sims can now
exhibit loyalty to existing relationships and will not simply fall in love
with random people who flirt with them. Sexual orientation of a sim now
actually matters! A very straight sim will decline homosexual interactions
and vice-versa. Finally, sim-jealousy will make more sense: Romance sims,
depending on personality(Nc+Pl+Ou >= 15), are more likely to have "open"
relationships, and will not become jealous (although some are simply hypocrites
who think the rules apply to everyone but them), and sims will no longer spaz
at random people for no discernably sensible reason. Romance sims should never
spaz. It is no longer defined as "cheating" if you are not in an actual
committed relationship, and you will not have knives-memories or "caught
cheating" fears satisfied unless you are actually caught by a partner in a
committed relationship (steady/engaged/married).

COMPATIBILITY:
This hack is fully compatible with all FFS hacks.
Tested for TS2 v1.0p2 & TS2U v1.0.
Not compatible with other mods made by random peoples which affect the romance
and jealousy code, such as any No-Jealousy mods.

SIDE EFFECTS:
May cause computer damage, incontinence, explosion of user's head, coma, death,
and/or halitosis."

As it seems - the jelousy was legal, because they had love sign. "unless you are actually caught by a partner in a committed relationship (steady/engaged/married).".

OK. I did RTFM the RTFM but misunderstood. So the sims might still get jealous if they're in love, but they just don't get cheating memories unless they are in a relationship. That makes sense. Thanks Gali.  :-X

I might try for the open relationship by getting them all to fall in love with each other, when none of the others are around to start with of course. It'll be interesting to see which sims can handle that, there're 3 romance sims and they're all quite outgoing etc.

I have that in my neighborhood. I have 3 romance sims living together, all three are 'in love' with each other, and they display no jealousy at all. One of them has a child by one of the other ones, and all three are doting over the baby.

I am still confused by this mod. The men in my game don't seem to ever get jealous; the women on the other hand are bitch slap crazy. Last night my daughter wanted me to break up a couple who were engaged, no amount of cajoling with others would illicit a response. The only solution was to use macro to socialize unfriendly until they could break up and then socialize friendly to repair the relationship. (Don't ask why, it's just what she wanted). They weren't living together and one was a townie so I couldn't switch the scenario without moving it in. Anyway, the guys don't seem to care in my game, this isn't the first relationship I have tried to tweak or breakup for whatever reason. None of them have been romance sims.

does this work with pets? i downloaded it in moreawesomethanyou-pet rar file, but when i took my sim out for a date in bluewater village, the interactions when they sit on the table is disabled. they can only sit and order food, but cannot do any sit-interactions. but there is no error messages. anyone encounter the same thing with me? i use romancemod, noinstantloves and gosteady for the relationship hacks..

There's no gender checks like that in the game. Maybe the guys are just very inattentive.

I am still confused by this mod...

Me too. I've had some very bizarre stuff happen including sims with absolutely no chemistry and a strong hetero preference fall in love! It was interesting, to say the least, but caused more than one or two bitch fights. Since that neighbourhood went splodie and Pets came along things seem to be going rather differently with my marrieds at it like rabbits. Come to that the non-marrieds are at it like rabbits... ;D I actually had a pair (my Pescado and Gali sim who are totally in love and currently pregnant) woohoo on the sofa? When did nookie-ing on the sofa become part of the game?

That sounds like ACR by TJ not the romancemod.  Definitely keeps things interesting!

Now you can woohoo in the car, on the sofa, in the hot tub, and in the bed before your studmuffin passes out for the night...

Hm, does ACR do cars?

Just confused, generally. One of those senior moments when life starts to have a lovely haze.  ;D
