1  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean and fixed Uber-Megahood! FINISHED! on: 2010 February 07, 17:56:43
I can't download the part 2 rar for some reason. It keeps saying this:

"NOTICE: No servers are currently available with the requested data on them. Please retry your request in a moment"
2  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Wants & Fears Sanity "Death To All Nesses" Public Beta Edition on: 2010 February 05, 21:25:23
Excuse me for going off topic.
Possibly related info: The blank wants/fears searches made me start looking at dangling SWAFs and whatnot in SimPE. Ummm, my neighborhood seems to have 832 SDSCs, and 1256 SWAFs. The neighborhood in question is Belladonna Cove and I'm not sure why that number seems to be so high O.o I haven't been playing it all that much and I'm 99% sure I haven't done anything dumb like anything involving an occupied lot/delete a sim in the sim bin/etc.

Let me confirm for you that it's not your fault. Your post inspired me to go through the EAxis 'hoods looking for dangling SWAFs. I opened up a totally untouched Belladonna Cove and it had around 200 sims but nearly four times that many SWAFs. All the other EAxis 'hoods I've inspected so far are full of dangling SWAFs, but none to this degree.
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Quick business-related question on: 2010 January 18, 17:22:45
AFAIK, vacation locals and tourists are more like special types of townie. I recall hiring an island local  and a tourist as employees at a business once without wrecking my game.

Don't know about hobby mavens, though - I'd be more cautious about hiring them.
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Crafting station usage on: 2010 January 10, 16:14:18
Yes, it was Paladin that fixed this.
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Delete All Characters booboo redux on: 2010 January 09, 04:22:53
Since you're talking about an EAxis neighborhood, if you want it again you can retrieve it from the Program Files folder.

The directory to copy is Program Files\The Sims 2 Apartment Life\TSData\res\UserData\Neighborhoods\E001. Copy that to your Neighborhoods folder.
6  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / I keep getting errors with the counter controller in my apartment. on: 2009 December 16, 02:03:46
I keep getting "Too many iterations" errors for the "Counter - Controller" in my apartment.  The apartment is one that I converted from a residential lot and includes a cafeteria stove (I have SimWardrobe's cafeteria worker on apartment lots hack). I was afraid that it had to do with Targa's SupaFridge, but the errors persisted after I got the updated version.

I'm always forced to delete the counter controller, which actually doesn't seem to do any harm worthy of note. It's just really annoying and I want to know what's causing the errors.

Two error logs are attached.
7  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Continuous loops while on vacation. on: 2009 November 23, 00:14:28
I recall recently having a similar issue to your Witch Doctor tub-fixing problem. I ended up forcing an error on the tub and deleting it, and I had no problems with the witch doctor afterward. This did not happen at the secret lot that shipped with BV, however; this happened at a downloaded lot I converted into a secret lot (and likely happened because of that fact). Are you playing in Twikkii Island or a custom-made vacation sub-hood?

I've never had the problem with massages.

When in doubt, assume the problem is tight pants. Use the Hack Conflict Detection Utility to check to see if you have any hack conflicts.

I am assuming this issue has nothing to do with Windows 7, which I am completely ignorant of since I do not use it.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hack Conflicts on: 2009 November 20, 15:01:27
You want a "sleep on community lots" hack that works with Smart Beds? There is a "sleep on community lots" plugin for the Smart Beds hack, and it is supposed to be up-to-date for Apartment Life (assuming that either AL or M&G is your highest expansion pack).  Check Simbology again: http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=15.0

Otherwise, as far as I know (and I don't know very much), you're out of luck.
9  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Bodyshop fails to start on: 2009 October 01, 22:33:16
Delete your cigen.package and remove any recent additions to your SavedSims folder. That always worked for me.
10  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Vacation NPC? on: 2009 July 22, 04:04:51
I've never seen an Unsavory Charlatan show up on residential lots, but he shows up on community lots in my base 'hood and ALL of its sub-hoods if given enough time. It's always been that way for me, and I'm pretty sure it's a feature, not a bug.

Also, isn't he actually an object, like Mrs. CrumpleBottom? If so, Sims really shouldn't be able to have a social relationship with him.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hours of load time. on: 2009 July 09, 13:07:17
Have you defragmented your hard drive lately? Fragmented hard drives can cause long load times and slowdowns in game play.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: AL money exploit - anyone ever noticed this? on: 2009 July 02, 12:04:16
I'll buy a table for the birthday cake, then when I sell it back, profit!

Pardon me, but I have to say this -
1. Buy table for birthday cake.
2. Sell the table back.
3. Huh
4. Profit!
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: AL money exploit - anyone ever noticed this? on: 2009 July 01, 14:35:39
don't see why anyone would bother.  Much quicker just to motherlode if you want to cheat.

The reason I'm bothering is because I'm playing a legacy challenge, and since I'm not allowed to use motherlode and this isn't technically using a cheat code (and there are no official legacy challenge rules for AL yet).
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: AL money exploit - anyone ever noticed this? on: 2009 June 25, 23:59:58
It's not just that item. I used that as an example because of its price.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / AL money exploit - anyone ever noticed this? on: 2009 June 25, 18:24:56

Has anyone noticed this before? In Apartment Life, if your sim receives the secret networking benefit that gives them a discount on Buy Mode objects, they buy items at a discount but sell them back at full price, which in effect lets you get infinite money.

Here is my proof:
Price of the Chalice of Days with the discount
Selling the Chalice of Days back for full price
16  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / What is this error? on: 2009 June 25, 18:12:40
I got this weird error after my warlock cast a spell to make the spectral assistant attack a customer at my business. It popped up at the end of the fight. Canceling it did nothing, so I had to reset.
I have all EPs and SPs, and HCDU isn't showing any hack conflicts. Does this error have anything to do with thefightclub? (The version of thefightclub that i have is dated Feb. 14, 2009.)
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No, the wolf is NOT stinky! on: 2009 May 21, 22:59:45
Maybe the chick is reacting to the mess the dog is making by shaking off water.
No, she's a werewolf and has zero neat points. Also, I've seen walkbys making the 'smells bad' gesture.

I've had the 'stuck smelly dog' glitch for a very long time, before AL and not only with wolves. (I don't think the non-pack-leader wolves are any different from dogs anyway.) The smelly just... won't go away. I never did find out how to fix it.
Finally, someone who actually knows what I'm going through!
Actually wolves are treated differently than dogs ingame. I found out by poking around in SimPE that wolves have an NPC type of 0x002B whereas regular pets (as well as playable sims and townies) have an NPC type of 0x0000.

Which leads me to my real question: Is stuck wolf stinkiness something hard-coded in Pets and/or borked by a later EP, or is it caused by 'tight pants'?
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No, the wolf is NOT stinky! on: 2009 May 21, 13:23:36
I do play with controlpets on, but I haven't tried using the 'nuke stuck SFX' from the batbox yet.
Also, yes, they are seriously doing a 'smells bad' action, i see it in their queue and it says 'smells bad' when moused over.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / No, the wolf is NOT stinky! on: 2009 May 20, 22:11:52

For some reason, ever since I've installed AL, I've had this issue with adopted wolves staying 'stinky' even after being washed. That is, even if was JUST WASHED, sims will make the 'smells bad' gesture: popping up thought balloons with the critter's picture and then going "Ew!" and waving their hands, holding their nose, making barf gesture or etc. It doesn't happen with regular dogs, only adopted wolves.

I'm using MaryLou's wash-tub for dogs, but that doesn't seem to have anything to do with it; bathing the wolf in a regular bathtub doesn't make the sims stop doing the 'smells bad' gesture.

I'm running all EPs and SPs, and HCDU isn't showing any conflicts. I have one hack that alters pet aging, but I don't think I have anything affecting pet motives.
20  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Vacated Houses and Pink icons on: 2009 May 05, 21:03:18
The Couples Counseling icon's background (and only the couples counseling icon's background) is pink for me too. I think it's an issue with AL, not my computer (or eloquay's). I haven't seen it in association with the jaggy lines, though.
21  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Deleted Sim on Business Lot on: 2009 April 27, 20:32:53

Lol...if this happens again, make a video of it and put it on youtube...call it something like Being John Simovitch.
22  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Their heads are melting. on: 2009 April 23, 13:09:43
I may be wrong, but this looks like something that happened to me before. That had to do with the hair alpha transparency making my sim's head transparent. The FFS debugger can fix that. Click on your FFS debugger (I assume you have one) and go to the Fix... menu. Does the option "Invisible Sims" appear under the Fix... menu? If so click on it and that should fix it.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets won't get promoted on: 2009 April 10, 14:51:35
That seems to be a problem in Apartment Life patch 2, downloading the latest version of alfixes should fix that.
