By DEFAULT, it's an AGONIZING 17(!!!) to bronze and an additional 33(!!!) to silver!, and an additional 66(!!!) to gold. My level 10 business has served 81 customers. You will never see a gold cashier badge like that. It just won't happen.

 Shocked   Roll Eyes

That is just...  MENTALLY RETARDED!

I like your version way better!

Gah... 17 transactions... no wonder people hated my shops before.
127  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Smarter Cashier on: 2006 March 12, 17:01:45
How many transactions should a Sim have to go through to hit Gold?  I pulled it off in my one-Sims home shop (Flower lady in Bluewater Village) in less than three Sim Days.  With hours of operation being 9am to 5pm or so.  And she was busy re-stocking (for the first two days, then she hired a peon townie teen) and doing Sales socials the entire itme.  Unless she started with an invisible head start, she flew through them.  The first badge only took between 3 to 7 transactions.  She got it her first afternoon of business.
128  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can anyone bring their sims back from break? on: 2006 March 09, 17:04:22
Are you telling them to "take a break" or "send home for the day"?  "Take a break" means they will go autonomous for one sim hour (according to what I read in the guide) or so and fill their needs up.  When that hour is up, all you need to do is interact with them to break them out of whatever autonomous thing they are doing and they should get back to work.   If you "Send them home" or they leave the lot, they cannot return for 8 sim hours.

You can also just assign them a new task by clicking on them and they should hop to it.
129  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Tricou Name Mystery on: 2005 November 13, 11:32:27
Interestingly enough (or not), the Tricou family always generates when you create a downtown, even if it's a custom downtown with no lots.  I discovered this when creating a blank neighborhood for myself.  It seems that they're a fixture in the character files for the downtown templates and will always be present.  Kinda annoying, actually, since it adds to your character file count without actually giving you any useful characters.
130  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: NL Cemetary Tombstone Problem (Possible Fix) on: 2005 October 04, 21:49:58
You all are making this way too complicated.  If you click on a tombstone at the community lot you can add it to your inventory.  You then click anywhere on the lot and "Place Tombstone Here".

I think you can then go into build mode and move it.
131  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Guess what happens when you deleteAllCharacters in downtown? on: 2005 October 02, 04:55:10
That would be nice... if the game actually indicated which sims were in which part of the neighborhood in any meaningful way.  Sadly, it doesn't.  There are three "families" of Townies.  One is the NPC townie pool, which includes ALL service NPCs from all portions of a neighborhood, one is the townies and dormies, and the third is more townies that were added with Nightlife, but not all of them as some wind up in your normal townie family and NPC pool.  Mr Big and Ms Diva wind up in the new famiily, but the Grand Vampires wind up in the normal Townie family, for example.  Well, correction, that's where they've wound up in all of my games so far.
132  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Oh this is so frustrating! (The way the game now generates Townies) on: 2005 September 29, 16:51:09
So... how do you get the game to stop generating townies at all? I thought the n'hood generation happened in one hit. I don't mean notownieregen, I have that, but I wouldn't mind generating SOME townies, just not a whole n'hood full. And like you, I think townie children are a waste of space (and rather spooky the way they hang round generation after generation).

You only want to do this on an empty neighborhood, but what you do is, while in the Neighborhood screen, open the cheat box and type "deleteallcharacters".

It will warn you that you're about to nuke your neighborhood into oblivion, but it will literally delete every single character.
133  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a hack in the plans for no random biting? on: 2005 September 27, 17:53:46
Thanks for making this!  Now I can let the residents of Pleasantview go out at night without fear of having to call the Gypsy for some anti-vampire-medication.

Of course, that couple who befriended all four of my Grand Vampires... they're stuck inside at sunrise from now on.   Grin
134  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Enemies Accumulate and Fight Club with Nightlife on: 2005 September 26, 21:43:32
Fightclub made fights do more than just a Body check.  It's not an infinite loop, but it may take a while.  Of course, a normal fight can as well.
135  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Morality & The Sims on: 2005 September 26, 18:21:02
Some of my sims are monogamous, others are not. The only morality I keep them to is that I nearly always have them breed, because for some reason I can't stand having many sims with no family history. When I make CAS sims I usually make them toddlers and kill off the adult with them, then have one of my gay couples adopt them.

When you do this, does the game favor handing out kids for adoption who were once with families ahead of random ones?

The game should always pull Social Worker Abductees before creating random CAS uglies for adoption purposes.  Provided one is available for the appropriate age group, of course.
136  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: default hair problem on: 2005 September 25, 23:19:38
never used it yet...  I'm thinking the bow isn't actually part of the hair, but is actually a hat - what happens when they change to pjs, formal, underwear?  or it could just be that the water in the hot tub makes that fancy do go limp...

Ness

Nope.  You have it right.  The bow stays on for formal, but for PJ's, Undies, Swimwear, and Athletic wear it turns into a pony tail.  It makes sense considering the length of the bow.

What doesn't make sense is the "Countess" hair losing a foot and a half when changing outfits.
137  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Vampires: Whats the different between Staying outdoor and indoor at day time? on: 2005 September 25, 23:18:32
It seems like motives decay insanely fast during daytime, doesnt matter  i stay indoor or outdoor
my vampire is living in a house with NO windows, the roof is covered by floor tiles
anyone know if there is a way to stop decay when stay indoor ?
i know carrigon made a daytime vampire hack but its a bit too much, i would really like the decay to be stopped when vampire stay indoor in house without windows (which makes sense , how r u gonna get burned when there is no sunlight)

During the day, regardless of location, a SimVampire's needs decay at a slightly accellerated rate.  Adding windows to the mix ups the rate.  Going outside sends the rate skyward.  For point of reference, the standard decay would be a constant "one green arrow" of decay.  Window assisted decay is "two green arrows" of decay (if they're standing in the light patch from it you may even notice some smoke).  Going outside is like toasting a marshmellow after bathing in kerosene.  Otherwise known as "three green arrows" of decay.  All of it stops, obviously, when in a coffin.

Unless you create a retarded pathing system on a huge lot, any SimVampire should be able to get from their bed to a carpool at high noon without going up like the never-ending-bonfire.
138  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Blind dates and family trees on: 2005 September 25, 21:09:11
I'll have to check out the family tree of those graves. I'm currently playing that house, and the ghosts are very active. I have to clear them off because they'll slow my game to a crawl when they all decide to show up at once!

See if you can resurrect one of them.  That might shut the rest of them up.  (I don't have any sims rich enough to buy that house yet.)
139  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a hack in the plans for no random biting? on: 2005 September 25, 20:13:35
I'll be brave and say it would be really nice if we could get a version that only disallows it on Community lots.  If you invite them into your home, though, you're fair game.

Although, I'd be happy with the no-random bit.  It's worth the influence if you really wanna get bit.
140  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My popularity sim wants to be a romance... on: 2005 September 25, 20:08:21
No, he's just thinking about Memory markers that are sitting in his memory.  Either that or he is thinking of having children later (almost all Sims want to have children at some point).  Sims don't even realize they can change Aspirations, let alone try to give us clues about it.
141  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Townie Date Changed Aspiration mid-Date on: 2005 September 25, 20:01:40
I somehow think that's not supposed to hapen.  Did his Aspiration icon change in the Date panel in the upper right corner as well?
142  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This new furious state on: 2005 September 25, 14:54:23
Sim Jealousy has never made sense.  I just wait for the Romance mod to get updated.  Until then, I just ignore it.    Tongue
143  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife Chemistry on: 2005 September 22, 21:51:35
A bad aspiration and a bad astro sign = bad chemistry (repellant) regardless of other features.  The fact they are married makes it Neuthral chemistry, since that's the lowest you can go and be "in love"
144  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife bugs on: 2005 September 22, 01:45:45
Dancing skill accumulates slower than it used to, so bust a move is harder to get to.  I think they also upped the relationship requirements to be able to do it.  This is why you think you're not getting your dance scholarships.  They're there, they just take time.
145  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The boycot worked! on: 2005 September 21, 00:25:28
The game was officially released a week ago... most of those are pre-order titles...  Um.  Sorry, not buying it.  Cuz, ya know, it's also the ONLY SIMS GAME ON THERE and it's been available for pre-order for a few months.

So unless they're only counting games that shipped (judging by that list it's impossible) then I'd say it's doing pretty good.
146  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hey Pescado! on: 2005 September 20, 15:50:17
One only needs hands to rip lips off.  Or pliers.
147  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: More Townies on: 2005 September 20, 14:35:18
if "intprop maxnumofvisitingsims" still works, just up that number.

My laptop (3.0ghz machine) gives me about 12 to 15 sims on a downtown lot at a time.  My home pc (1.4 ghz machine) gives me about 6 to 8 on a lot.  This includes any Sims I take on my own and service NPCs.
148  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Matchmaker Madness on: 2005 September 18, 05:01:58
Chemistry (and therefore, what the Gypsy gives you as your date) is not based solely on Turn-On's.  It is based on Sim Personality (similar personalities attract), Zodiac Signs (which partially nullifies the personality bit, but not really), Aspiration (which can be a HUGE factor), and then Turn Ons and Turn Offs.  It's very possible to match both turn on's, but have opposing Zodiac Signs/personalities/aspirations and therefore NOT be a compatible match.  It's even possible to be repelled by someone who has both of your turn on's (but it's not very likely unless they also have your turn off).
149  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: mods that do and don't work on: 2005 September 18, 04:57:34
Motoki, are your Sims' influence bars empty or full when you're getting the influence wants? I don't care for that aspect of the game and leave all of my Sims' influence bars full and haven't gotten any influence-related wants. The only time I get them is when the meters are between 0-50% full and 50-100% full.

To be honest, I have no idea, but I am guessing their influence meters might be low? I really don't care for the whole influence thing and pay absolutely no attention to it other than to do it when they get those wants just to cycle them and get them out of the way.

That's your problem then.  If your influence bar is not completely empty or completely full (or nearly so), you will continue to get Influence wants rolling into your panel.  Of course, acting on them only serves to keep your influence bar less than completely full.  Ignore them.  Fill other wants.  Or turn on testing cheats and shift click the want to fulfill it and make it roll to something else.

I haven't seen this issue addressed anyplace: I don't find a way to delete a DT inside the game. There was a way to delete a UNi inside but that seems to be gone too. ?? The delete option for the main hood is there.

Of course, it's possible to delete these manually--but I could have sworn there was an in-game delete option. Am I crazy?

EDIT: I was NOT in the DT or Uni I was trying to delete.

Once you've installed a DT, you MUST have a DT in a neighborhood.  If you have multiple DT's, you can delete all but one of them.  This is because many special NPCs (such as downtownies) require a DT to function.
