26  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sims not queueing up 'cry softly?' on: 2005 December 17, 15:54:44
I used to get every family member "crying softly" whenever someone died, old age or not, but now they ignore it pretty much, only the nice sims crying. Maybe something to do with nocrybabies? (although that's for fighting and such). But I have noticed as well that my sims are ignoring when their housemates/relatives are growing up as well (unless there's cake!).
The ignoring aging thing is probably due to JM's No aging swarm hack.  See if you have that one.

Aha!  Smiley Thanks rainbow, I've been building rather than playing since I got the hack and had totally forgotten about it until I got into this new family. Silly me.

No, my dad did. My parents, being ex-hippies (well, my Mum still is, but yeah), were real John and Yoko fans. Of course, everyone thought it was an insult - since the pet was a female dog. Not intended that way!!  Wink
29  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Names for self-sims on: 2005 December 14, 07:11:23
Damn, mine is kinda boring - Yoko Hale.

I've been naming like most here - if the screenname can be split, it is; if not, their last name is Maty.
30  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: my game is messed up on: 2005 December 10, 16:38:25
Hmm... I must've been confused because of the fighting aspect. There was definitely some oddness with babies and toddlers fighting, however, when Nightlife came out and I think it was hack related.

Edit: the only thing I can find is a post by Brynne with child/adult attacking. Sorry, LynnMar, it's definitely familiar. Maybe an old version of enemies accumulate? It was somehow related to the new fighting and furious system, I just wish I could remember!!  Sad
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: my game is messed up on: 2005 December 10, 13:37:36
IRIC, the babies and toddlers being able to attack older sims was due to the fightclub hack not being compatible with Nightlife. It was months ago that I read this, but it might be a good idea to check if fightclub is in your downloads folder.

Crimped pigtails! so cute!

It looks interesting... I hope the "create your own products" option doesn't get left on the cutting room floor. And that you're able to live and work on the same lot.
33  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Ultimate Sims Wedding on: 2005 November 25, 03:42:50
Wow.  Shocked I'm glad those pictures weren't deleted, they're fantastic! Heh, and is the girl's mother Dina? She looks exactly like Anastasia and Zara Goth (who recently passed away...) in my game.
34  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bugged lot... and I haven't even finished building it! on: 2005 November 20, 16:46:46
Actually, you don't even need to exit. Simply click on buy mode, and they reappear. This happens to me a lot, both when building and sometimes when changing levels during play.
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Alternate reality neighborhood on: 2005 November 18, 09:32:35
I copied Pleasantview - same reason, alternate reality. Smiley I copied the neighbourhood file and changed the numbers - but you also have to change all the numbers in the character files, the lot files (e.g. N001_User0000.package to N[number]) - basically check every file in the folder. It took me a while but I got into a rhythm after a bit. It was worth it - I resurrected all the dead spouses, and it's been a very different experience from the first time (when I was so incompetent Dina had aspiration failure every day, too many babies, and Mortimer died really early on... leaving Alexander with some harsh teenage years).
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who Are They? (A Guessing Game!) WINNER ANNOUNCED! on: 2005 November 14, 09:29:52
Heh, cool. Don Lothario definitely has some hot genes - all his children, no matter who their mother is, are beautiful. But especially the boys.  Wink The hottest sim in my current Pleasantview is a descendant of Dina and Mortimer, Beau, Lilith and Dirk, and Don. His sister looks a bit odd (eyes too close together...) but he's a cutie! And I'm 20, and having slight crushes on computer game characters is completely normal!... yes.  Smiley
37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who Are They? (A Guessing Game!) on: 2005 November 13, 17:23:49
I've resurrected him, and he looks like Skip just as a teen.
38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who Are They? (A Guessing Game!) on: 2005 November 13, 17:06:11
Blonde one has to be Skip Broke. It looks just like him. I'll agree with idtaminger on the other two being Brandi and Don.
39  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Shared neighborhood - ground rules on: 2005 November 12, 16:25:26
Your terrain and JadeElliot's decorations are fine by me.  Smiley

I'll volunteer as an incubator and storyteller - I can also contribute houses, say smaller ones for the less affluent area of the neighbourhood. I've got about five that were built in the game from "starter home" plans.
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Shared neighborhood - ground rules on: 2005 November 12, 15:40:49
I would think that if they are freshly moved in, without playing the actual family or greeting the welcome wagon, they would know no one outside of their family and so wouldn't bring any unwanted sims along with them.

Also - when this was a neighbourhood swap I was interested but couldn't really get in on the action (due to slow modem), but now if it's just a one-off download I'd like to participate. Are there enough people already or are more participants welcome? And should the created sims we submit be singles or can we create more than one (like a family or group of friends living together) to submit?
41  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: changing eyecolor in an established Sim on: 2005 November 07, 09:22:40
I think Lyran has started making Contacts too (they go under Sunglasses) which you just put on your sim in-game.

I love those contacts. Though I prefer to create sims with the maxis eyecolours (to keep the genetics as they were intended - I don't like how all customs are dominant) they look so much more realistic with Lyran's contacts on. Of course, that also means all my sims have to have full face makeup or custom hair as a turn-on otherwise they're not attracted to neighbourhood sims.  Undecided
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? on: 2005 November 04, 17:38:14
I'd definitely like it toned down slightly. I've only had the game for a week and a half (so I'm yet to experience fighting for no apparent reason), but I find it annoying how the furious state comes in for ANYTHING. Georgina Pleasant (who just broke up with her cheating husband, Trevor) went on a date with Leo Depiesse, and in the middle of dinner he said "I've gotta go" - fine, whatever. They both had pink hearts, so it had gone well. I had her scope the room since her mood was high and she found a downtownie she liked. So she asked him on a date, and from nowhere Leo appears (thought he had to get home, hmmm...) and starts slapping her and she gets a cheating memory. I've always wanted to see more of a normal jealousy system in the game - and, now that we have the dating system, I had expected that unless there was some level of serious emotion (red hearts) or commitment (engagement, marriage, joined union, going steady) between both sims they'd be a bit freer to do as they pleased. I've been waiting for a mod like that for the past year, and I hope someone makes it now that Nightlife has made the consequences that much more dire.
43  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clothing equality mod - adult clothes for elders (updated 11-1-05) on: 2005 November 02, 08:09:42
This is fantastic. Now there can actually be some variety in my neighbourhoods. Great work!  Smiley
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I got the dreaded squigly lines in thought bubbles on: 2005 November 01, 07:54:10
I've had it in normal conversations between sims as well, since installing Nightlife. It freaked me and I wonder if the code has been modified and it's a fix that needs to be updated. Hopefully, as others have said, it's coming from something else instead.
45  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Just installed NL; controls don't work on dates on: 2005 October 30, 12:07:06
Oh, so they're bored? Righto. Makes sense, but I expected it to be a bit like Hot Date, where other sims were on dates themselves, eating out, etc. The places I've been to have karaoke, dancefloors, but they don't dance or sing. I'll put in some poker tables since they seem obsessive about them. Wink
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Just installed NL; controls don't work on dates on: 2005 October 29, 18:34:27
Yep, they got out of the car before the freezing started. I did a reinstall as Zephyr suggested and it seems to be running smoothly now. Although everyone at community lots seems to prefer standing around like stunned mullets rather than actually interacting with each other, which is kinda boring. Lucky I always backup before an expansion pack!
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Just installed NL; controls don't work on dates on: 2005 October 29, 16:11:03
I'm a bit confused by this. I just installed Nightlife and the patch, cleared out my downloads folder, and went to a lot. On the lot, the sims were fine. I've now sent them on their very first date in their new car to "Londoste" (because it sounded pretentious and they are very much so) - and the controls don't work. They aren't greyed out or anything, but clicking on them doesn't work. There was a bit of a lag at first, but it got better as the car drove up to the restaurant; but I'm unable to zoom in, unpause the game, etc. Has anyone else had this problem? Did I forget to remove something I should have?
48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I was dreaming about TS2... on: 2005 October 28, 18:25:24
You've never seen Tron? Infidel!

I've never even seen it in a video store, otherwise my curiosity would've gotten the better of me. What can I say, Australian video stores suck! Smiley
49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I was dreaming about TS2... on: 2005 October 28, 18:06:42
You remind me of a movie named "Tron": a user loses a game to the computer, and the computer swallows him and makes him a part of the softwares. Well, at the end he succeds to get out of it...Smiley.

I was very impressed by the idea, which described an addicted game player, becoming a software...Smiley.

Do you have Tron symptoms? I think many of us have...Smiley.

Oh, so that's what that movie was about. I've never seen it, but I have childhood memories of it being advertised on my disney tapes. The ad kinda freaked me out, and I'm glad that as a computer-addicted six year old I never actually saw it! Wink

And those roaches... I haven't installed Nightlife yet, but I hope there's a "no kick over trashcans" hack around
Yup, it's at Inge's site, www.simlogical.com

Cool, thanks for that. I'm currently collecting hacks for when I get around to installing, and I'm sure it'll be extremely useful. Smiley

Kukes, just answerred your e-mail. Did you receive it?

Yes, thanks for that! The hack works wonders; half my sims are cured already! Smiley
