Reggikko!
You have been in my thoughts for the last few days and I am so glad to hear from you and that you escaped the worst of the devastation.
One of the news bulletins here, in the UK, suggested that the majority of the looters were doing it out of need rather than greed. If this is true, then I can understand why they are doing it because I suppose that if I had a hungry family to feed, I would do it any way I knew how.
I hope and pray that all your friends and relations are alive and well.
BTW, how are you enjoying life without the Sims?

Got it in the director's cut version.
At least I was able to find the answer before everyone pointed and laughed.

Yes, that was the one I re-downloaded today
I get the feeling I am going to feel awfully foolish when someone points out what I am doing wrong.

Thanks for the info on the TC
I am clicking on options on the baby controller, but all I see are
Manual override
Warning box
Lobot nannies
Always smart milk

Is this where I should see the IQ test?
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Unsticky Smartmilk question on: 2005 August 01, 13:19:34
Its mighty late here, which is probably why I started wondering:

How the diddeley do you figure out the IQ on your kids? Ive got the Baby Controller, but I cant seem to find any IQ checks... (Which probably says a lot about my own, but lets leave that for another cheesy post.)

It's in the newest version. Use the Sim you're checking to click on the eye, select "Options" and from there you can check the IQ.

I have never seen this option on the baby controller. I was pretty sure I had the latest version (the one in the hack directory, right?) but I downloaded it again just to be sure, but still no IQ reference. Probably says something about mine too cyperangel.
Any ideas Huh  anyone?

p.s. what's TC?

Does anyone know of any place I can get the characters (clean, physical, bodyshop characters-no ties!) of the Pleasantville ancestors of the Broke family, Goth family, etc.? I'm trying to recreate all that history again and I'm not sure of the best way to do it. If not, I guess I'll have to use my own talents in Bodyshop, but I don't wanna.  So far I have all my characters cloned, and I cloned the living Pleasantville characters. I'm just getting into creating family ties and I haven't even touched the memories yet.

Brynne, I have gone way way back and started from scratch with all of the pleasantview families. I used the current characters as templates to recreate their ancestors. EG I used Mortimer and Cassandra as templates to recreate the Goth and Crumplebottom ancestors. Then I used Bella to recreate the Bachelor ancestors. With a little bit of tweaking in Cas or body shop, it's quite easy (but time consuming) to get them all back.
I then played them all the way I thought their lives should turn out. So far,  I am almost back to the present day Pleasantview. Of course, doing it this way does not give you clones of the current characters, but it's fun and it helped me to regain an interest in the game when I thought I'd gotten too bored with it.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Maxing out sims skills on: 2005 July 20, 07:37:04
If tackled correctly, the max 7 skills, is one of the easiest LTWs to achieve. Knowledge sims gain asp points extremely quickly, much more than they will use in a lifetime. So if you want them to achieve that early, make use of those points.
Don't allow them to get a job. 20,000 is enough to keep them alive because they do not need most of the stuff they buy. Use your first lot of asp points to get an energiser and from then on they do not need a bed or a fridge because, if they keep skilling, they will always have enough points to keep it topped up and will never sleep or eat or socialise (unless you want them to of course). Neither do they need walls. They can now skill for almost 24 hours in every day.
The first time I tried this was for the email challenge and I think it took about 8 sim days to achieve that want. It could have been quicker, but I was wary of running out of money, so I didn't hire a maid or a gardener and the sim had to do all of that. I also took some time out to make a few friends because she was searching for a mate.
But, if you enjoy a mix of sim activity when playing then perhaps this is not the way for you.

Heh,heh. Add me to that category!
But, isn't this why we join such forums aka imagination/ideas/knowledge collectives?

LordHellscream, you must invite the headmaster on the day the toddles ages. I usually wait until the afternoon of his last day as a toddler, grow him/her up and invite the HM. Or you could time it so that they grow up on a weekend.

I have tried this challenge twice and now feel utterly indaequate cos I haven't figured out a way to make a female sim who doesn't have accidents.  Huh

This feeling of inadequacy that you have is entirely understandable.
Try the energiser.

Simshost, college is a breeze on this challenge, I've done it twice. Your sim has a walless looless dorm all to him/herself, a cook to make meals and no bills. So long as there is a handy bush on the front lawn, even a neat male will use it when directed to so long as he is outgoing enough. Females, of course are a bit more tricky. Aint that the truth.

I've temporarily given up on my second try at this challenge. Uri eventually found the perfect wife, but when their little boy became a toddler I discovered that the little brat had 10 neat points. So there is no way he is going to utilise the shower. Do I remember reading that little boys "use" money trees though? Can someone refresh my memory on that?

So meanwhile I have started again with another female. It's just not right that they are now allowed to pee on the bushes. I mean, come on, who hasn't peed behind a bush in her time?  Yes, I know about the animation thing. She is a knowledge sim whose LTW was to max 7 skills. I didn't bother to get a job for her, yet when she had maxed her skills, with 19 days to go to adulthood, she still had over 6,000 in the bank. Could probably have completed this quicker if I had hired a maid and gardener.
She has become very friendly with Don L and I think he might be just about perfect to father her offspring.

Started my second time on the challenge. I made a perfect 0 last time, but this time it's going to be a different story I think.
Mr Nate (Uri to his friends) started life as a college student. He got through that OK and has now moved into a nice little corral in Strangetown where he is searching for a perfectly sloppy but outgoing wife.

Other ganes?
I am afraid that I do not understand this concept of other games.
