Title: EAxis annoy me (modular stairs in Veronaville house)
Post by: Kitten on 2008 October 09, 16:32:04
In one of the houses in Veronaville (I forget which one), the fourth square above the stairs can be used and carpeted.
How on earth did EAxis do this, seeing as I can't replicate this elsewhere myself?

(Thanks Jelenedra).

In game. Press C. Go to your My Documents > EA  > Sims 2 > Neighborhoods >N002? (whatever the house is) > Storytelling

Pictures should be there.

I've got the picture taken okay, it's showing it my message that I don't know how to do.

Oh. Then click on the button that looks like a picture on the post reply page. If you hold the mouse over it, it should say 'Insert Image.' Copy and paste the web address of the picture inbetween the [im.g] [/img.] tags.

If you need to upload the picture to the web, then I suggest photobucket or something similar.

You need to be in live mode, and you need the stuck object remover. Place the stuck object remover on the fourth square using moveobjects on cheat. Go to live mode. After the burminated message pops out, go back to build mode and place a square of tile. That's it.

Karthik

I think it is possible without the stuck object remover. I did it before, and I don't have the remover.
If I remember right, you have to build the floor first (with tree holes) and than place a modular stair.

Pandaah: that method works, but you can't put in the wall afterwards whereas with the house EAxis made, the wall is there, and if removed, can be replaced.

With just the basegame, you only needed to leave three squares open above the modular stairs. You had to have four open to be able to place the stairs, if I remember correctly, but you could place floortiles and walls on the fourth tile afterwards. I don't remember if this was changed with a patch or just with later EPs, but I remember being annoyed when it did change!

It works for me with three spaces only. But then I build with "moveobjects on" activated until I get to the windows.

It seems to depend on which modular stairs  -- I like to replace non-modular with modular stairs in dorms, and can replace the 4th floor tile with most of the older/original modular stairs, but not with the newer ones that came with later EPs.

To get rid of the above problem, you can use my method. It is what I use when I need something like that. You can put a wall at the edge of the third tile as shown in your picture. Who knows, may the guys over EAxis use the stuck object remover to do the same.

That could make sense. 98% of the time, I'm using the basic wooden stairs or the slightly warmer ones that look like they belong in a country house.
