26  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I Need My Censor Blur Back on: 2006 February 23, 19:07:39
Yeah, I think I'm gonna keep the dreaded blur (at least for now)...This ordeal was way too stressful and time consuming....I had to go through all of my downloads in Clean Installer and I just *happened* to see "censor" I almost missed it!

They don't tell you with "See Them 2" that it leaves a little sumthin-sumthin behind after you delete it.  At least I don't think it said anything about it.

Also, if your nieces are likely to be frequent visitors, it might be an idea to create an account for them, makes yours password only, and then give them a copy of the game to play which is theirs.  You can either give them suitable downloads, or allow them to find things themselves (while keeping a watchful eye, of course).

Bruce Banner, thank you!  I opened up Clean Installer and found the culprit "censor" and removed it!  It was hidden in there.  I loaded my game and funky Eldon Fuller got outta bed and took a shower and the blur was back!!

ZephyrZodiac, that's an EXCELLENT idea!  Thank you sooo much!

And to all the rest of you, thanks for your help!!  --green
28  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / I Need My Censor Blur Back on: 2006 February 23, 17:50:02
I'm hoping someone here can give me some suggestions.  My young nieces are coming over this weekend to play my game.  Me and my sister, their mother, have been putting them off for months now, due to schedule conflicts.  We finally planned for this weekend, and I can't get my censor blur back!  LOL!  Uhherrrm, I have some detailed custom skintones, and need that blur to cover them.

I have been playing "blur free" with no problems with the "See Them 2" program.  When I tried to turn the blur back on...and loaded up my game, the blur was still off.  I thought maybe it was because of the downloaded house I was playing, so I went into a couple other houses in my neighborhood.  The blur is off in all of them.  ( I never used "See Them 2" with my game loaded.  I had checked the box with the nude sim, and turned the green check into a red x).

So, I thought maybe I had it confused, I quit out of my game, and went back in and turned the red x into a green check...the blur was still off.  I tried it again the first way...still no blur.

So, I deleted the "See Them 2" program off of my computer.  The ReadMe said to just delete it from my computer.  I emptied my Recycle Bin, rebooted my computer, still no blur!

Can someone please help me?  Thanks in advance!    --green

Syera, that is AWESOME!  Thanks!    And yes, if it could come with TO's and TOff's that would just be a cherry on top!   --green

I just signed up!  I hope it's not too late!  It says my approval is pending, and I don't have access to the Testers Forum, yet.  So, I'm patiently waiting on you, Pegasys!  LOL!

32  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Random desktop crashes on: 2006 February 08, 21:50:20
My game would not necessarily "crash" to the desktop, but "fall" to the desktop...if that makes sense.  The screen would all of sudden, at random times(during loading, during the neighborhood screen, etc.)  just "minimize" to my desktop.  When I would click to bring the game screen back up...the game would come back with no problem, then do it's regular thing for a quick 3 seconds, then all of a sudden it would "minimize" to desktop again.  I would have to scramble to quit out of the game before it did it again.

I defragged my computer and that seemed to have solved the problem.  My hardrive was badly fragmented.  So, this might be what's going on with some of your computers.

I have yet to have a 3 bolt couple in my game...and I've had NL since it came out.  I think if this happened to me, I would most definitely have to go with it, no matter what was going on in their current relationship.  Even if it's my most favorite couple...there would have to be some drama! LOL!

Dag, this is some great information.  I've just started a fairly new neighborhood and I've been struggling to remember to go into CAS before I load the house to click random sims for about 15 to 20 times!  I was thinking to myself there has got to be an easier way!

I'm glad someone asked the question...I kept forgetting to.

I'm just amazed at the creativity!!  These wedding photos are fantastic!!  Brynne, I went to look at yours, and applied for membership to your forum.  I know I'm not a familiar face around here so I wanted you to know that it was me who applied.

37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Using Groups on: 2005 November 21, 17:03:37
This is one of the features of NL that I really love....reading this thread has given me even more ideas than I had been using it for.  I mainly used it for families and in-laws, to get them better relationships with each other.  Now, I'll have to try getting my Pleasure Sim, Chuck Harrison, to go on a few casual group outings to get the relationships up before asking for a date!  Thanks for the idea!

His LTW is to have 50 1st dates, he's already got 3 under his belt..so this will really help him.  Time was going too slow trying to have him talk on the phone to get the relationships up so he could invite them over.

This guy lives by himself, he's fat, balding, and wears glasses, but the ladies LOVE him!

I hope to have him find his true love during this 50 date adventure!
38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Are the Critical Fixes Ok with NL? on: 2005 November 20, 13:05:37
I was getting ready to post, that I have no idea where to find it.  So, Motoki... you think I should continue to just wait without any fixes in my game until I hear more on this?...or should I scavenge thru the old Armory hacks for what I can remember as being fixes?

I mean, it's a brand new neighborhood....I just reinstalled a new game about 3 weeks ago.  But, I'd like to be protected from bugs and things before I get too much more involved with it.

**I knew I should've read the post before I posted this....thank you JM!!
39  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Are the Critical Fixes Ok with NL? on: 2005 November 20, 12:55:17
I had taken out the critical fixes when I installed NL...and have been playing without them for some time now.  I did a search but couldn't find more information on this.

Are the critical fixes (minus the amnesia fix) ok to use with Nightlife installed?  I have Uni also.

I'd like to protect my game, and I trust JM's fixes to help me do that.

I read where JM is working on a Director's cut for NL, will this include all the critical fixes needed?

Thanks for any information!

40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hack request : Dance Together on: 2005 November 18, 22:44:48
I actually tried this earlier today...well, it was a child.  I wanted Amelia to join her father, Juan at the stereo...thinking, like you, I'd get her started on her dancing skill, since she's gonna be a teenager in 2 days.

It just dropped out of her queue.  I wondered why... and I think I remember I had children dance with their parents when I first got Sims 2.

I'm picking my jaw up off the floor right now.  I can't believe that this can happen!  An autonomous propose engagement?!!

This is the first I've ever read of it, and wow!  I'm stunned, but I sure like the chance of that happening in my game.

PS.  I just started using Lizzlove's bed, and last night while playing, I'm watching a kid play with his toys in his room (after I'd told him to go to bed...he completely ignored that), and then I pan the camera over, and his parents are in their room doing the "face together, holding hands, I'm getting ready to get some" animations!)

Next thing I know...the lullaby is playing.  I'd been trying to get them pregnant for at least one Sim week, prior to installing Lizz's bed!  It was so nice that it happened without my involvement, and to see them get it on when *they* wanted to!

44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Game messed up..sims "jumping" on: 2005 November 14, 04:47:09
In a previous installation, this happened to me as well.  My Sim went to Uni and made friends with the gypsy while there.  I decided to move her into a house downtown after graduation.  Things were ok for about 10 minutes of playing time.  Her friend, the gypsy, called her on the phone...(I was testing the phone hack) and she teleported there when she hung up the phone...three Sim seconds later, another gypsy that comes when a new Sim moves in, showed up...next thing I know, I was unable to interact with my Sim....first her plumbob disappeared, and then she would just stand around like you guys said, like free will was turned off.

I deleted her and her lot. End of story.  I didn't have any problems in my regular neighborhood, but since then, I've bought a new computer, and started over with everything.

gali, I've used the same phonehack, and I have problems - the phone will only set to off, or else it rings constantly until answered.  If a sim answers the phone, the caller then appears on the lot as soon as they put the phone down.  there are definitely some glitches with it, but it's still preferable to not having it at all.

I agree...it's still better than nothing at all, I get the teleported Sim as well.....all of this I can deal with, but that ringing is for..ev..er.  I really wish I could set the ringer.  Cheesy

kate, like a big dummy, I just did that, myself.  Now I'm looking like a durn stupid idiot to myself!!  LOL!!  Geeeez!!!  Luckily, I only had 7 people in there.  (just started a neighborhood)  I was overanxious to see the changes.  I usually read first, but this time I didn't.

I will report back after I've put it to some use.  I just had to start my game completely over.   So, I'll put the two new families in.  *doin' a happy dance!*
