And you can find it here.

Pescado is reading it now, and will post about possible conflicts, I guess.

Fixed an issue where NPC Mars Crumplebottom was causing objects.package to be corrupt.

Ha.

Thanks, BlueSoup. I probably wouldn't have found out about this until after OFB if you hadn't posted.

They still haven't fixed the things that drive me crazy, such as the extra (lower-level) graduation memory the YA's get when they move back to the neighbourhood.  I get so sick of having to leave the game everytime I move them in to get rid of those stupid memories.  Drives me mad when they wander around daydreaming about their Cum Laude when they actually got a Summa.  Why haven't they fixed this?

Anyway, I may not install this patch until I try this out, because I had no idea this bug existed and it sounds most intriguing: Young Adult Male Sims can no longer get pregnant and give birth by using the Electro Dance Sphere.  So who is the father of these babies?  I am simply going to have to find out ...

Oh boy..............

I read the descriptions for the patch, and I picked out at least a handfull of hacks that would explode the game. Even if I took the hacks out, the game would blow up anyway.  Lips sealed

It looks like they've fixed some of the issues JMP has patches for.

But they've claimed to fix the monday morning madness before.

Ancient Sim:  They can apparently be abducted by aliens while using the ElectroDance Sphere if they have been abducted before.  So I am assuming the "father" would be the Pollination Technician.  However, YA's can't normally give birth in college, so I guess they are fixing it.  This seems like a rather obscure bug though compared to some of the others.

I don't know whether to be happy about this patch or not.  I have just about gotten my game working the way I like it again after NL broke all my hacks, and now OFB is on the way.  This NL patch will probably break a lot more hacks, so all the modders have to start over and read through the code again and specify which hacks will work with which patch and so on and so forth.  Undecided

I'm rather reluctant to install it too - it doesn't seem to address any issues that my hacks folder doesn't!  (And my hacks folder is smaller!)

There are a lot of things sims keep doing until you stop them, why should poker be any different?

I was thinking the same thing. I just got my game running smoothly and here comes another patch. I would do a little investigating myself, but after seeing the code for juggling (which was a mess), I havent done it in a while.

That juggling one is the main thing keeping me from patching until the word is out here one what's really fixed. I don't want to remove CrammyBoy's fix just to find out Maxis still didn't get it right.

I just saw this on the Sims 2 RSS newsfeed:

New Update Available

We've released a new Update for The Sims 2 Nightlife. If you have Nightlife, keep your game up to date.

Here are some interesting things I noticed after skimming the list:

  • Fixed an issue where Custom Terrain paint was being uploaded with packaged lots and spread to other users' machine unintentionally.

Wonder if this will really work?

  • Fixed a rare issue where when a Sim was juggling would cause random objects to be deleted.

Can you say, "Crammyboy?"

  • Cowplants will no longer have their faces squished after eating Nightlife's NPC\'s.

Oh my, this is too funny.  I have to see this!

  • The Mad Scientist career track will no longer have a conflicting message about missing a day of work and having the day off.

About dang time!  But what about the other day-off Monday careers we identified?

  • Pollination Technician 9 family tree is now showing all correct branches.

Huh??

  • Flaming Bags of Poo should not be delivered indefinitely after a bad date.

LOL, it's the gift that keeps on giving!  Grin[/list]

I'm going to wait until Pescado gives the go-ahead, seeing as I have the MATY package.  I just thought I'd post for those who should know.

I'm interested in what they say about the terrains:

So, what I get from this is not that core issue with terrain paints is fixed, but that it should no longer package the first terrain in the package automatically just because you opened the terrain section.  Anyone out there with terrains care to check to see if this is the case?

What about other gift-spam that people have reported?

And honestly, however bad the date, would a sim go to all that trouble with bags of poo?  They make enough fuss taking them from the potty to the toilet!

I'm thinking it's about wording with that...I already knew there was an issue similar to the kicky bags with flaming bags of poo.

Also, ZZ, if a date is *really* bad, I'm going to be dropping off cat poo at his house for at least a week!  Grin

I will be waiting as well to see what JM, Two Jeffs and Crammyboy say actually is a fix and how it will affect the hacks I have and what is, as JM would say, "Maxian Propaganda".

I saw this in the list of things that patch "fixes." What's a family reunion and how can I have one? (I mean in the game.)

But you're not a sim!  And when you empty the litter tray, you have to put it somewhere - outside his house is probably just as good as in your dustbin!

Family Reunion memories are what family sims get every time a member of their family is invited over (or turns up uninvited) and there's been an FFS hack for this for ages!

    Probably patched or otherwise addressed:
    -antigypsywalkby
    -cellphonefix
    -mondayfix
    -noreunionmemory

and cboy's portal deletion fix v2.

Vampirefixes is most likely still needed since I didn't see anything about the other bugs in the changelog.

    ----

A family reunion is a party where a lot of family members visit. In an unmodded, unpatched game this results in page after page of "had a family reunion" in memories.

Doesn't have to be a party - I had one family YA keep getting them every time her father came calling - and they never had any parties in their house.
