No, I'm playing Mac OSX version 10.4.11 (intel core duo) using the max files cheat but I manually do it, because I'm too scared with doing it permanently. (it reverts back when I restart, which is almost never but it's very easy to check each time before I load the game) I wrote terminated but I am a pc and mac user, so I just meant the same thing though maybe I should take a screenshot of the exact error msg next time. Is there a log I can find somewhere?

these two commands into terminal:

I really can't tell what it's done to my system, I know the entire system has lagged menus in the past few months but I really want to relate it to applications becoming more heavy as with still using the old os, (and have not updated! because I don't want to replace my apps and risk not loading without a cd) I really need to upgrade to 2gb ram and maybe reinstall OSX. Honestly it runs very smooth as long as I don't have a lot of sims on the lot or a lot of background apps.

But I'm lost on the fence issue. :/ I also have that sunlight crash error a little too often, but I think that's because I use quite a few downloaded mini lots and face them the wrong way.

Yup it's every single custom fence. It's annoying as crap. I have the Holy Simoly ones too and they do it also. I want to say it started after seasons was installed. (which wasn't arr'd so it is a mystery)  I have gone for a while without any issue (ignoring it), I delete them, I put them next to each other, but if the game catches a bit of lag while I happen to be dragging a fence around all edge of the lot (it's not like they can walk off from there but it looks pretty) I know- can feel it, and then suddenly "The application has terminated" appears. So it happens placing or erasing.

If it not crashing doing that, my camera will go off world and I am sent spinning until I go back to hood view and reload the lot I try hard to stay away at least two blocks away from lot edges.

I did this exact same thing with that hood earlier in the week. It does get very laggy when using the gun (to the point can't move) but I have 1.79 gb of downloads and 1gb of ram it never crashed. Just took long enough and felt like everything froze. I close all background applications when batch creating townies. So I want to say the amount of downloads you have is ok for having that much ram (you meant 2gb of ram right?), do you have a good amount of HD space though?

Make a cas sim, move to blank lot, use townie gun. With nothing on the lot and just one sim, does your client crash?

I was building a house for almost an hour and could (should) shoot myself for not saving. My game crashes to desktop after I tried to erase a custom fence with the fence tool. I realized that this keeps happening with all fences whenever I have a custom fence in, and usually trying to erase a line near or close to the edge of the lot. I removed all downloads and dragging a maxis fence near the edge didn't produce the same results. It didn't bother me before I tried to remember about it, but so annoyed at myself right now. Anyways I have mac version (asdfjk;l) and it's arr'd so if it's a factor I'm not sure. I asked the person I downloaded a fence from if they had a problem, but didn't, and think it's not a specific fence because I downloaded several fences from different creators and they all produce the result, much to my dismay.

So tl;dr, any mac users getting a client crash when moving cc fences?

Thanks Zazazu!  I have found it. But it won't allow me to change the icon at all or move it to the top of the list not easily anyways, I have to move all the stupid maxis collections to the back now meh- is it safe to just delete them?
I went right past it because I thought it was the OFB one.

Yes I put the collections file in collections, and put the magic wand file in downloads. I only have 7 custom collection files the rest are all maxis, and it's not showing up at all.


I did click the collections file while in build mode. Thank you for telling me it is a box.
It is not appearing in the buy mode catalog where the others boxes show up (misc/all).
Can it only be accessed from collections? I'm perplexed as every other *hack* I have is only from this website
(took out non awesome things long ago), besides a few defaults for skin clothes from mts2. Normally all goes well. 
Could it be I need a higher ep?

Well I have no instant love in, so I am not sure how it effects it. By hours, I meant sim hours. The dad invited his muse over for a date after his wife passed out asleep at 7pm and they got in the hot tub by themselves. I told him to woohoo and the afterward make-out session went on til around 1am, which was then I instructed him to have her get lost because his wife had woken upstairs.

I know there was some collection files on mts2 that give you the craft items from OFB available to buy from build mode, the other stuff I'm not sure.

Wanted to note something- Lots have disappeared for me, with whole families just poof. It was always a max file issue though that only pertains to mac. (Loading with too much custom content didn't hax my terminal to allow MOAR files opening at once). I wonder if it could occur for windows if you ran out of virtual memory. But you'll know if that happens because your images for each hood at main screen will turn into green grid map looking images, and unless they were like that before (because no map image was defined for the .sc4) or you deleted the images, the game isn't loading everything. Also saving the game in that state officially borked my hoods so they had to be deleted.

It happened for me between two adult sims who were having an affair. I want to believe it's because the hotter they have it for one another, those animations show up  They were going at it for hours.

You should make a test hood when doing the 50/50 dance. Saving the game is not an option during that time. Might want to load from a backup.

Speaking of long numbered files... my game seems to generate a ton of them into my downloads folder everytime after I load. What are those? I deleted them and nothing happens but they do come back constantly. I don't even know how it does that because I set the folder to read only :/

Yes main reason I use empty templates because wanted to make sure I had only the minimal amount of sims possible in each hood. This hood is having only playables but without locals the vacation my sims had was very boring (and could not learn the local's skills).

This sounds like the way to go then. 

But I am not sure what this townie gun is? I understand debug mode cheat, but does townie gun come with freetime expansion? Because I have never used and can not find it. I only have up to BV because there is no mac version for the others. Thanks for the replies!

Blank templates in and the no regen hack so there are no locals appearing in vacation land.
At this point can I create some custom ones in game or would I need to use simPE - would prefer to not have to (mac)

Watering is how they skill the gardening skill. If you just want her to run the garden say > be farmer. I've had trouble with the queue not dropping before that was a conflicting hack. Try telling her to do something else first then crossing out the box.

No really how does that happen that much? Is your place not have room temperature? Do you drop equipment on floor a lot?
I had online service out of London at one time but they decided to shut down business with only a week's notice and everything I had was deleted (luckily nothing important).
It might be better (and cheaper) to just buy your own remote server and have space for a website too. Those sites with auto uploader also are shady sounding think spyware.

Try using Firefox browser or Opera. Was there an option to click security settings for allow?

The user who created the files was someone who once lived in this house, but since deleted their user account. The computer is used by all of the family with 4 accounts as of now.

Sorry if I maybe said this wrong. I will try to explain. A few months ago, the computer had a working graphics card installed for games. One day the screen went bad. We thought maybe the card had problem and bought a replacement. This exact same card but new, also did not work. We sent it to a repair person, and he stated to us that the mother board has a problem it can not read any cards at all and will have to be replaced. For now, we have monitor plugged into "basic" vga port (is this right name or maybe it is AGP port like you say). At the moment, the motherboard would cost to replace same as a new computer. So a new computer will probably be bought when funds are available. I was hoping to save this computer though for just basic use.

This account I am using is Administrator, but the file even then does not want to listen to changes. I believe because somehow the file is still owned by the user account deleted, it has become confused. But without safe mode I can not fix this. I was afraid I must do what you say with boot disc, and have been searching for it. A 500gb external drive was just ordered from Amazon, so hopefully it will arrive within a week to backup important data. I just hope the permissions will allow copying. On some of the files they may not even be copyable which is sad... because they are family photos The files in the share folder, are upsetting to family members and they wanted them removed. But I realize the entire computer is having major problem with permissions settings. I believe the deleted user did this problem, as well as the broken motherboard and perhaps spyware. My hood that was overloaded with too much CC started giving me the "$subject" memories of Sims just gone. I had over 4gb of CC at that point, all un-awesome things with .package files not set to read only. Beheld the unspoken terror and misfortunes of outer space as the entire population disappeared without a trace.

I thought if anywhere this place would be able to help me out. And this section seems appropriate for this.

So my computer is running Windows XP Home Edition.
There is several folders in the Shared Documents that are set permissions to Read Only and Hidden.
It is also thought that the owner is set to a user that has since been deleted. Even on administrative login name the files can not be changed or deleted- permissions (Error Access is Denied) are stuck.

So the security tab to change ACLs ownership can only be accessed in safe mode for XP Home. But upon restarting F8 to safe mode, and selecting safe mode the screen turns black and shows a list of .sys files and then locks up. It is required that I manually turn the computer off now. SO I attempted to use safe mode + boot, and other safe mode option with networking. All failed with the same .sys files listed.

I am thinking it is because the graphics card was removed due to the motherboard not being able to read VGA anymore. So where should I start to adjust settings so Safe Mode could load again?

Since this thread is here I am new in BV also. Wanted to see if anyone knows why in my game when I add more water to the beach lot with constrained floor false, the sims act like the water is not there. They walk through the water as if they are still on beach, once they hit where the water line used to be they start to "descend" into the ocean water, then 4 more tiles swim. Is there another cheat you must use when editing the water line?

Well I am not sure if this is what you want, maybe I can take pictures later when I open the game. I you have UNI (I think it came with that ep) you have the stage, and I used the stage to mess with the pool height instead of foundation because it seemed to react better. I play around with unconstrained floor a lot til I achieved the water level I wanted, but with the foundations it never worked.

Also instead of using the half walls from the game you could make your own fake ones from normal sized walls, which has added bonus of being able to accent it with a fence ontop.

First lay down where you want your walls with the normal wall tool, then place a foundation block one tile away from the wall. Use the land flat tool to drag from the foundation block over the "invisible" squares of the wall to make it lowered to the same height as the foundation block. If you place the foundation block on several clicks higher of ground, you can achieve different sized walls and effects.

The townies will breed on their own  ? Even if a TS3 notowniewoohoo was possible I just don't think I want it, it sounds very bad. Even though still want to buy a new gaming rig this coming year, newegg has some nice boxes for under 900.

What would be the best thing to do? Buy a very large box case, and go with agp vga only so you can upgrade every 3 months for the EP in the sims3? It's very un-nerving for this game to include secuROM also, with most of the serious sims 2 players informed I feel sales will be very poor for Sims 3.

Oh I will try the love potion - thank you for the explanation it makes more sense now to me. It is funny . They could woohoo without her loving him but I can not remember if it was like that before.
