THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I received this e-mail yesterday, and couldn't stop laughing...Smiley.

But really, has somebody a solution for this situation? I sent the poor girl several advises, but I will be thankfull, if someone else can advise her what to do.

"I am a fan of all these Sims games, i have Sims Online, Sims 1,
Sims2, Urbz.

My question, well actually 2 questions, but first is I hired a Nanny
for my new baby i adopted, ok?, I came home from work and she asked
if i wanted her to hang out, thie first time i said no, then i seen
it was hard to take care of the baby and get myself all green, so the
next day she asks, i said yes, well, she hasn't left since then, she
fell asleep and another comes b4 i left for work again. I tried to
dismiss both when i got home and it didn't work and now I have
another one, yes three Nannys and all I wanted was one. If I try to
click on any of them, it's telling me no action can be done.

So they are just now walking around looking stupid and doing nothing,
so i decided to adopt another one, being my youngest is in school and
the Nannys wewren't doing jack crap and i figured i'd give them
something to do, well now they ALL fell asleep on me, one being in
from of my baby's crib, so now i can't get to my baby, another one
fell asleep in front of the toilet, the other is on my top floor,
roof, which i put some money trees up there, i had like a dozen of
them but the danged old heffers (Nannys) keep going up there and
taking my moneys off of them, danged thiefs!!

If anyone knows what I might be able to do, pleeeeaaasseee help me, i
can imagine what my bill will be after they all three leave LOL, i'll
tell them to sue me LOL.

Take Care and Thanks
Lynn"

I suppose she plays without cheats, so all cheatless advises are welcome. Oh my, what an invasion...Smiley.

My nanny ask once after her shift if I want her to stay over and then never left. I put moveobjects on and deleted her then the next time she asked I said no, never ever say yes because they don't leave, well mine slept in the bed, took a shower just like she was living there and did't leave when asked to leave. So no more nanny visits for me.

Has she tried turning moveobjects_on and just deleting them?

Thank you, Katze and regico - that was the first advice I gave her. I hope it will help - it never happened to me. But as Katze says, it should help.

The second was to kill them all...Smiley.

I like the second idea much better.
It seems she got quite laugh even though the insidious hellspawns were obliterating her house...  Wink

ROFL, what a hilarious story.  I had a similar situation once, with 2 or 3 nannies all turning-up at the wrong times and never wanting to go home.  One of them was my most hated nanny, Kendal Lawson.  She kept falling asleep standing-up, usually in front of the bathroom door, and had green fumes coming out of her.  Everyone who walked by her was holding their nose.  I kept checking her stats and just at the point where she was almost dead of starvation, the irritating woman went and cooked herself a meal.  The next time she tried it I stopped her and got the kid to eat it.  She promptly fell asleep again and when I checked her, she had so many "Expire" icons they were right off the screen.  IMerola's Mind Control Mirror also informed me that the Reaper was on the lot somewhere.  Eventually she woke-up and was duly taken to the Big Nursery in the Sky.  I decided to delete the other nanny who was threatening to go the same way.

Nannies are simply the most annoying things in the game (apart from the cheerleaders). I never hire them anymore, it's not like they help anyway.

I had this happen yesterday. The nanny asked to stay after her shift and I said yes, but then she wouldn't leave. After awhile she even cried because she was so tired. It was hilarious!! I tried to interact with her to ask her to leave, but there were no options so I just deleted her. Everything seemed fine after that. In this same house the Sim day before... the baby's mom died from choking. It was that strange bug I've read about -although I don't remember the details. I think she was pregnant.

In another house I employed a nanny, but then two more showed up. So there were 3 nannies trying to endlessly feed bottles to the toddlers. I just deleted them all. I haven't played again since -so hopefully it won't happen again.

Resident nannies are cemetary material in the waiting: they get distressed because they can't leave, they have spasms so you can't interact with them, they get smellier and smellier because they keep wetting themselves;  they have spasms while selfishly cooking a meal for one in a full household then promptly fall asleep in front of the cooker so that the kitchen burns down.  Finally, they keep triggering the small window box due to near starvation terminal sleepiness.

Only once was I kind enough to delete, other times I let smother nature take its course. Smiley

I turn my most annoying ones into babies - the game generates new ones if you hire another nanny, though.  But since they are in their second childhood, it seems appropriate!

I had this happen with Kendal Lawson (who is now no more) and now I think Christina Despond is next in line.  In her case, she was never invited to perform nannying duties.  For some strange reason, when one of my Greek house males invited a friend over, the friend he asked if he could bring with him was Christina Despond (why a nanny to a Greek house?) and now she won't leave.  She keeps falling asleep standing-up and is totally red on hygiene.  She eats of course, that's the problem with them.  I am leaving her there because it's hilarious, although I had to lift her up and stand her outside the last time she fell asleep as she was stood right in front of the toilet, causing everyone to wave their arms about (alternating with holding their noses) because they couldn't reach it.  So, at the moment she is in the front garden doubling as a sort of nanny statue.

Ancient, I swear you have the most hilarious things happening in your game. It makes me wanting to try a household with 'free will on' and just letting them roam (more or less). Ofcourse, I would have to put in the non-autonomous refrigerator and make the computer  inaccessible (lobster thermidor burning and SSX3 playing drive me up the wall), but that should be easily accomplished.

But just WHY do nannies pee themselves? I mean, every other visitor to my Sims house can find (and more importantly, use) the toilet, how come the nanny can't? It doesn't make sense.  Angry

Hmm, my nannies use the toilet.  They DON'T leave after their shift, but I use Inge's teleporter shrub to "clear off" non-residents and that takes care of it.  Grin

My nannies use the toilet, but what I wonder is do they actually USE the toilet?  What I mean is, when they start cooking a meal they leave it to burn, or cook it then never eat it, start playing chess or the piano but stop after a few seconds, that sort of thing, so maybe they go to the toilet but don't actually GO to the toilet.  Or maybe they start going, then stop mid-flow.   Cheesy

I suppose with the abysmal programming and wierd sense of humour at Maxis, anything's possible!  I suppose you could use the Mind control Mirror to find out!

I have wondered that myself. Back when I still actually used nannies, they did go to the toilet, but they still managed to leave puddles all over the place.

Now I just snag an unsuspecting townie off the street, move her/him in via Inges teleporter shrub, and declare her/him babysitter. The townie can skill, be social, and if it amuses me, it may stay a playable character. They get moved into my apartment-building (thanks again, Inge) and I go from there.

Sounds fun!  I just make sure there's a teenager in the house - older siblings aren't allowed to go to college unless their parents have enough vacation days!  (If necessary they have to stay teens with the elixir!

I haven't actually had nanny-concerns in ages, because my houses are more elder-heavy: There tends to be at least 3 or 4 elders in the family waiting to kick it, due to a one-child policy. And the reason the elders all live there is because the REAL problem is not actually the number of sims, but the number of families: Each additional family adds extra drag weight on the playing of the neighborhood, and so my end goal is to actually downsize the number of families by merging them together through aforementioned one-child policy: When the two single children of a family marry, that effectively merges the two families together. You'll notice this effect in Maxian ancestral families, where most of them do not have siblings and are only-children that thus ends up merging 2-4 families together into one person.

I gave the whole nanny issue some deep thought (over a cup of tea) a while ago and concluded it's because Nanny's need their vehicle to leave the lot.  They are just like my Mum, they can arrive on foot but expect a lift home. Smiley

Do you use the storytelling feature with your families, or do you just use them for alpha and beta testing?

No, I don't use the storytelling feature, although I do play them for more than just testing (although I'm not above enlisting them as guinea pigs if the test is expected to be nondestructive - I have a neighborhood of hapless slapped-together sods for the really mean stuff). I do, however, occasionally take snapshots for the perusal of others, but I don't generally write elaborate stories about them. It'd get pretty repetitive if I did. Besides, what's the point of filling in everyone's SimBio, "This is So-and-So. He is mean, and likes to scowl. Do not feed him."
