76  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The scarecrow on: 2007 March 27, 15:51:31
I've only had one accidental death. My four year old however has had many. Now I max his sim's motives and stop the need decay so I don't have to explain why his sim fell asleep and the scary man came and took his sim away.
77  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: userStartup.cheat on: 2007 March 27, 15:47:11
Thanks, I'll try that. I wonder if all the cheats need to be in order of expansion release? But that would make no sense, code is code... Then again oft Maxis code makes no sense.
78  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / userStartup.cheat on: 2007 March 27, 14:18:44
What did I do wrong? I put the file (submitted for your approval) into several folders, I tried five different folders that looked like the right place, in documents and in game files. Is it my file? Where the hell does this thing go again? Did I name it wrong or what? I added the .txt extension just now to be able to upload it, when trying to use the file I did save it as .cheat.

I know I used to have it set up right.

AWESOME!
80  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / The scarecrow on: 2007 March 26, 19:20:44
Does it have a use? I've never seen any birds attacking my crops, just decoration or does it boost growth?
81  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Household residents won't approach the Cowplant on: 2007 March 26, 19:15:23
I would ask for the scissors, but I found out that the new smite option on the lot debugger is tremendous fun. May have made seasons worth it.
82  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Cheat to build out of lot range on: 2007 March 19, 17:57:49
Isn't there one? So I can burninate a stinky fogness as described buried in the odd things about seasons thread.

edit: Never mind. I was thinking there was because of the fact that you can edit the floor tiles. Google was not my friend and annoyingly notified me that the cheat is for floors only.
83  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Odd things I noticed about Seasons on: 2007 March 19, 17:50:01
Oooh, what if it is a pet? A dead stinky carcass pet... cool.
I've had stuck animations in corners. That frat house comes to mind, every time someone showers in the upper bathroom there are bubbles across the street. On my old computer and this one. I used to think it was my video card, but this is a different brand and it's still there. I don't think this is the same thing though, I scanned my entire lot for plates and garbage.
84  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Which hack let you select who was going on a community lot? on: 2007 March 19, 17:16:39
Wow. Don't everyone speak up at once.
85  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Shopping townies on: 2007 March 19, 16:49:46
Niftylicious. Carry on.
86  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Shopping townies on: 2007 March 19, 16:42:59
Been so long since I've played, I can't remember... When townies shop do their funds deplete over time or do they get a random amount each time they enter the lot. I know they run out of money in a single shopping session, but will they have more money when they come back?
87  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Which hack let you select who was going on a community lot? on: 2007 March 19, 16:38:52
I thought it was the phone hack... Now I've been without a computer for a very long time and am starting fresh. I didn't get to play much of OFB before the dark times of PClessness. I thought though that the hack worked with that, so two adults could go into the store and the teen stayed home to study. I have both the phone hack and the carpool hack. What's up? Is it a seasons thing that hasn't been addressed?
88  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Odd things I noticed about Seasons on: 2007 March 19, 15:51:31
I have that green fog too! Directly in the corner of the lot, like the lot angles point at it. I tried to burninate it myself, but it's outside the lot. I know in TS1 there was a cheat to extend the lot, like you could build across the street. Is there one in TS2? I bet we need to do that one and then burninate the damn thing.
89  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Odd things I noticed about Seasons on: 2007 March 16, 17:43:53
Not saying this isn't a bug, but I was able to adopt a stray. A propose option came up on the menu.
90  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Empty and Cleaned-up Templates. [UPDATED] on: 2007 March 16, 15:30:23
Does the townie tree let you make strays now? Will enabling testing cheats allow this?

Also, if I put in empty templates, will it only affect new custom hoods, or will it fubar my Maxian Pleasantview? I have the no regen hacks in place there already, if I changed the templates, could I take these out?
91  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Factoids and Statistics on Skill Gaining on: 2007 March 16, 15:04:13
Perhaps you could mod the bubbles they blow into the fire we were promised before the release of TS2, and then your children could be happy.
92  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Factoids and Statistics on Skill Gaining on: 2007 March 15, 14:53:30
Note the rates listed below can be modified by personality affinity, and a sim receives +100% learning rate while wearing a thinking cap, and +200% while under the influence of smart milk. Smart milk can normally only affect toddlers, but the attribute can become "stuck" randomly and result in children learning at accelerated rates. This tends to go away when you wear a TC, which also affects the attribute and thus clears the stuckage.
Does Fall clear the stuckage? I like the stuckage, resembles theories of learning during early childhood increasing the ability to learn later. If I never ever put a sim with stuckage in a thinking cap, should it stay even in fall or with teaching on a career reward? Resetting a sim will remove it, so that would include patches and hacks that affect globlas, right? In other words, what all exactly can clear the stuckage? Is there a list?
Strictly speaking, you can't actually have the Gold Book until it's way too late anyway. You'd need to actually do the Edumacation career, unless you cheat for it, and therefore you'd likely max out well before you were even allowed to try.

A parent could do that career and earn the bookcase, in which case the children could carry it to Uni in their inventory. No cheat required.  Cheesy
See: "You'd need to actually do the career". If you've done the career, you are either A: Not in Uni, or B: Not Gen0. In either case, this makes it much too late to be hauling things to Uni for skillpoints! I suppose in a truly sadistic case you could have a child who doesn't need it haul it to Uni and leave it there as a donation, but that's just convoluted.
That's the whole theory behind my knowledge sim fraternity (co-ed, my only co-ed uni fraternity/sorority). Any sim is welcome, as long as they bring a career reward to donate to the household. In return, they receive training from the seniors maxed in the skill of their choice. If the career rewards in their parent's chosen field already exists at the fraternity, they are welcome if they are willing to provide training to others. Then again I have the warped idea that sim kids and teens should spend time playing and only require that they earn at least 5 in cooking and 2 in mechanical, with a little more occasionally. Maybe some charisma from the toddler bunny. Then when they go to Uni there is actually something for them to do rather than just throw waterbaloons and wait for the final.

This is, after all, the company that brought us mops stored magically in people's behinds. Televisions in pockets, and an hour to use the toilet.

Sims die making one snowman? Mine survived hers...
95  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons: Plant sims on: 2007 March 13, 15:54:33
I wasn't one of the people who was begging for weather. I didn't even know if I would like it. But, surprisingly, Seasons is my favorite expansion. It makes the game come alive. Things change, in a constant pattern of existence, the ebb and flow of life. You get immersed in a whole virtual environment, while you play. It seems so much more satisfying, relaxing, enjoyable.

Yesterday, while my Sim grilled some freshly caught fish on his indoor castle BBQ, I could hear a dog barking outside. The cat meowed, and then curled up for a nap. The fireplace glowed, and I could hear the rain outside. As my Sim sat down to eat, I realized I was content. No matter what things are like IRL, in this little world everything has finally "come together" and it is wonderful. It feels like Sims 2 is complete, now. Seasons did that, for me.

OMG! That's just beautiful..... *sobs*

Wink

WTF, why didn't my penguin pee on my sim's feet?! I'm jealous.
97  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Garden Environment score bottomed out? on: 2007 March 09, 08:37:04
I have sims so mean they can kick the trashcan, and they live with gardeners. Smiley

He is not sleeping. Sleep is for wussies.
I think compost is just an alternative to the fertilizer that makes you a funky green person, so not necessary.
Man, I want this by 4pm so I can play with it this weekend, no internet connection at home.
99  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Garden Environment score bottomed out? on: 2007 March 09, 07:05:15

It's because the spoiled sims don't like to walk on the bare ground. You have to put a floor on the whole yard, and the rate will be increased immediately.

I don't think that's it. My greenhouse has bare ground and its score is just fine.
100  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Um? (Seasons fire glitching) on: 2007 March 09, 07:04:12
That's human logic you're using.   Grin  The Prima guide has a list of things that warm up or cool down Sims.  A big way to warm up sims is to have them bath - which is great when it's winter and your sim is about to pass out from the cold.  But when one of my sims got really hot, I sent him into what I assumed would be a cool bath - only to see him get hotter!  Though the guide does seem to say that the heat should max out well below SHC...still...
Does the guide say showers can cool them down? I've been using showers after a workout thinking that would cool them...
For the first time since I've been playing TS2, I had Sim catch on fire while cooking breakfast.  My kitchen fires have always involved whatever was being cooked.  Not this time.  She was nearly fried to a crisp before the fire dept. came.  Her parents just continued raking leaves.  None of the fire hysteria of the past.  They just ignored her.
Now that is messed up. I would freak out a lot more over someone spontaneously combusting rather than simply burning an omelet.
