Title: Greetings from inside my 'puter!! I live in my Sims houses!! Make fun of me!!!
Post by: MommaPat on 2005 July 18, 14:04:02
Fist I must tell you, I "think" I have found a way to lock in the smart milk faster learning for the life time of the Sims;  I have a Gold or Platimum(sp?) Sims feed the toddler smart milk just before the age transition is suppose to start, say around 5:15 or 5:30, and when they change into a child the faster learning is set unless the thinking cap or a move from home is used. How did I do??  Am I 100% w-r-o-n-g???

Here is my real problem that I have not read about from others!!  I am afaid I used the dreaded boolProp testingCheats only once to change some of the bars on one family only and immediately dis-abled it and now my Sims can NOT adopt!!  None of them!!  Not in any of the neighborhoods!!  They call and are approved and told that they would have a visit the next day at 10 and then NO one shows up and option drops from the phone forever as long as the same family lives there. I had an object error pop up during the closing of the testingCheat that said  "Car - Social Worker - 0,8" #142,  then something about  error: Stack overflow.   How can I fix this??  Also the headmaster fails to show up at random homes, no mater how many times you call him, but does show up at others!?!?!

You can make as much fun of me as you like if you will help me out!!!  And by the way, thank you so very, very much for the death fix!!!! (bows to you in worship!!)

Patty

It's not a "reliable" process. In testing, I've found that it will often (but not always) happen if you simply feed the toddler one smart milk in his entire life. Sometimes it takes more than one to stick. Sometimes it never sticks. You can get more exact empirical figures yourself on the latest version of the Automated Baby Controller, which includes an IQ Tester in the options. If you get a value of 300 or more, it means smart milk is in effect. If it still says that when smart milk hasn't been in effect for awhile, you are stuck. At that point, feeding MORE smart milk, like with bubble butt and other stuckness situations, can actually undo the effect.

Err...beats me. I think you have some hack-that-isn't-more-awesome-than-you.

AWOL headmasters is fixed by the Lot Debugger (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/hacks/ffsdebugger.zip). Picking the "Fix AWOL Headmaster" option detonates the corrupted scenario controller, forcing the game to regenerate a new one which should not be stuck.

He's got a hack for that too. More realistic social worker.

That doesn't fix this particular social worker problem. I'd need an error log to find out what, if anything, is going on. Odds are this is some other hack that isn't from FFS, though.

Ugh. Duh. Oops. Sorry about that.

You know, you're starting to sound like Maxis. Problem? You have a non-awesome hack on your machine. Mind you, this actually makes sense, as opposed to the official tech support. Non-awesomeness is not a good thing.

Well, certain things are particularly prone to being affected by the non-awesome hacks of other less than awesome people. In particular, anything which might involve woohoo is a leading offender. If your sims are having problems with that, I'm inclined to blame certain hacks for it. The Social Worker's Car happens to be a repository of certain Social Worker codes, and it's possible that somebody tampered with it in an attempt to do something to adoption. Which is quite likely, or else you probably wouldn't be adopting babies from Ugly Babies With Horrible Names, Inc.

This is DEFINITELY a not-awesome hack. The fact that the error is from a "SIMPE__A2O_CARPOOLMINIVAN_DRIVER_LOOPBREATHE" clearly indicates that it has been tampered with grossly (and badly, with a complete lack of subtlety). Find and remove this hack. It is not an awesome hack, and so there is nothing more I can do here.

I found it!!  It's GONE!!!!!  It was a yellow car from Killersims that just sat around the yard looking pretty.  It was only on one lot on one neighborhood, the one that the headmaster first quit coming to!!!  That should have been my first red flag, but dumb ole me kept rite on playing and it finally messed up the social worker in all 5 of my neighborhoods!!  Well, now that it's gone, I'm gonna play again and see if it helped.  I just hope it didn't mess up anything that won't right itself now!!!

I truly appreciate your help today!!  and the great fixes that you have made!!
Thank you, again and again, so very, very much!!

Makes sense.  Cars of any kind seem to screw up the game and cause it to function in a disorganized mess, similar to Congress.  Until Nightlife comes out, downloadable cars are a big no-no.
