Doing stupid shit, or at least watching other people do stupid shit, is how people learn "common" sense in the first place.
I really wish someone would create a tool that would allow old townies to use new face templates genetically. I don't know if this would even be possible, though.

My current pet peeve concerns the gardener. I DON'T want him watering my crops and I DON'T want him to rake my leaves. It takes far too long on my larger lots and he never finishes.
I totally second this. 3 trees and a small garden, and the gardener is completely unable to finish his work. It's one of those "did people even PLAY this game?" things. I have yet to have anyone overheat, but that sounds very annoying too.

I may be a bitch with issues but I assure you that I am not self-righteous. See, that's your problem: if you were self-righteous, you wouldn't have issues. You would realize everyone else had issues.

Just out of curiosity, what actually happened at PMBD? I only posted a hello and didn't stick around, did something more ghastly than the average forum flareup occur?
A bunch of 12ish spammers took over, starting stupid topics and replying to every single thing anyone else posted, with something stupid, of course. Now, there isn't so much spam, but there's a whole lot of stupidity of differing degrees. Example: a poll topic about how the poster hates "noobs", with people discussing the definition of "noob" and other people waggling their fingers about how everyone should be nice and not call names tsk tsk. When I read a reply to another thread that said basically "I hope no one here would be that mean", and the poster was not summarily tarred and feathered for sounding like she was addressing a bunch of preschoolers, I realized it wasn't the place for me. PMBD could use another BlueSoup-style cleansing.

The spammers that left seem to have been replaced by a whole new "retar-DOH!" bunch.
With the added benefit of "be nice!" scolds.

Peanut butter cheesecake, with chocolate crumb crust, decorated with honey roast peanuts, Nilla wafers, and chocolate-peanut butter twirl chips.
Wow, that sounds absolutely disgusting.

Oh right, I should have checked there -- wait. Same server. Actually, I still can't reliably log in to PMBD, not that I particularly want to considering what's happened there. Actually, the PMBD forums are intentionally kept on a different, unrelated server specifically to reduce the odds of both being knocked out by the same problem. Well, I couldn't get into either MATY or PMBD for the same period of time. Being able to log into PMBD is hit or miss still, though.

What about people who couldn't even get on MATY for the donation instructions? That is no excuse. There was a thread on PMBD too. Oh right, I should have checked there -- wait. Same server. I don't think helaene's 111 skins are particularly hairy, though the darkest skin tone does have too much hair -- people of African descent usually have less body hair. I think they just look like real men. Of course, anyone who's been paying attention (OK, wishful thinking) knows that I like my men to be kinda manly .

I use helaene's 1111 defaults. I think they're at sexysims now, because they aren't Barbie. I like them because they look somewhat realistic without being oily. The only problem is that the undereye is too dark, but that's very easy to edit.

Sorry, just had to respond... For all you programmers that don't comment your code... (tongue lashing)... QA's worst nightmare!!! Argh! I've been on both sides, and it is not too hard to put comments in your code, comments help with debugging. End rant. In the very little programming I've done, I've had comments all over the place. This is probably because I'm not actually a programmer, so I think in English rather than code. I'm another one who would be willing to help with translating programmers. I've felt the same problem in regard to finding advice on how to do things -- I've figured out a couple incredibly simple things on my own, but I can't go any farther. I also find many of the tutorials that do exist to be extremely difficult to understand. It seems that SimPE isn't the best way to really learn how to mod, either. It's great for recolors and editing saved games, but there isn't any way I can see to tear into the real guts of the game with it.

What sites do you recommend purchasing from? I will soon be in the market for a new a computer... and I suppose I will go the "build my own" route because it's cheaper and I can probably get better parts. Any recommendations?
Your friendly local PC dealer, not a chain, and not online. Every town has a couple random guys with their own PC businesses. I got my very shiney new computer from one such guy. It cost about $2000, and blows away a $7000 Dell. I checked online, and nowhere has a computer this good for this price.

I haven't found charisma to be a factor in schmoozing. Like Eleonora, I've found teenage girls to be the key. Male teens are only a little bit better than adults at schmoozing, in my experience. It's rather disturbing.
I usually skip schmoozing and just have my Sims spam "ask about interests" a lot. Chatting normally seems to work OK too. Schmoozing has too high a failure rate for anyone but teen girls, ime.

That happens to my Sims constantly. Every time I play this game for any extended length of time, I'm reminded how terrible the programming is . But yes, I want a fix for it too.
