But yeah, pretty much everything Rainbow said, goes for me too.

Blue, Honey, I'm not trying to pick on you or make you feel bad, but if you are referring to:

I know what every single one of my hacks does.  I don't even have all of JM's hacks

You know that's not true, however I will not make conversations held in other places public.
27  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: kind of a random question about hacks on: 2006 June 08, 11:59:32
Eh once again I find a thread of utter bullshit slander, do you people have nothing better to do?

Since when did it become the creators job to ensure everything works with everything else.  Take responsibility for what you download yourself and stop giving people a hard time, I bet you all never made an error when learning something new, or made a typo!  Heaven forbid!

I use a bunch of hacks from various sources, both Awesome (tm) and Non-Awesome (tm) If I notice a problem, I tell the creator, or look for an update or a conflict, or pull it out of my downloads.  Seriously this place has got to be the most pissy, whiney "in club" I have ever had the misfortune to see.

And half of you have hacks in your game that you don't even know what they do, and yet that is somehow OK, when putting in a hack you don't understand the description of is not.

If you don't like the creations someone is making, don't get them, but don't waste time whining about them.
28  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a fix for custom cribs + changing tables ? on: 2006 June 07, 10:56:16
OK I think there is some confusion going on here, or then again, maybe I am the one confused.

I don't think Holly is saying the cribs and changing tables don't work, but that the Nanny's (and playables?) don't use them autonomously, and they won't, the Nannies at least never do, and this is because the Nanny is coded to the GUID of the Maxis Meshes, and as all new meshes have new GUID's the nanny essentially doesn't know they are there and ignores than as if, in fact, they weren't.

As far as I know no one has come up with a feasable way of changing that.
29  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a fix for custom cribs + changing tables ? on: 2006 June 06, 21:47:30
I love the sitter mod, if only I could schedule grandma to come over everyday rather than forgetting until the carpool arives and mother won't go to work
30  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: possable use for the vamp overlay? on: 2006 May 26, 01:07:40
I don't know if this will help or not, but I extracted a vamp sim with sim surgery to clone in a hood rebuild and right from CAS she has the vamp overlay without being a vampire, therefore it may be possible to utilise the on/off in some other way.
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: House Layout? on: 2006 May 25, 04:03:45
My real life house floor plan isn't entirely convenient or comfortable for me either, I'd still hate to live in a house like that though.

What I don't understand though is this:  Gali likes her house like that, fine and dandy, I don't, also fine and dandy.  Why is there always this spate of "you must play like I do, it is the best and only way"
32  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Skin Problem with male fit S2 sims on: 2006 May 13, 15:24:46
Do I spy a mathman mesh lurking there?  Cause I had the same thing when using that.
33  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: LIzzloves beds on: 2006 May 12, 16:07:14
I use the waterbed, the one that is marked uni only but I have all the eps (but no sps) and I think it's mostly that it won't work in the base game because of menu properties that were added with Uni.

that one the customers will autonomously hop into bed with the girls and it has a bunch of options you can set, such as advertising strength and options for controlling who will do what, for example in my brothel I had to set female/female whoo hoo to not allowed because all my girls were in bed with each other and not the punters  Roll Eyes
34  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: LIzzloves beds on: 2006 May 12, 03:15:40
Mine is slightly different in that all of my working girs are playable sims, I have the beds, plus the lapdance chairs from Hunter at MTS2.  I have a bar/club area downstairs with the chairs and then the beds upstairs.  I do have the ticket machine downstairs mostly for the bar area and then pay doors on the bedrooms, so it's more a club with "extras" really.
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: LIzzloves beds on: 2006 May 12, 01:38:51
Yeah and it's a roaring success, my only business that is both popular AND profitable!
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I just had to share this on: 2006 May 02, 16:50:54
Yeah I've seen that in my game before...
37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Beer bottles on: 2006 May 01, 18:59:46
I'll have a look around for you pegasys I don't know if/where shes uloading right now, or even if she is, but I'll ask around.
38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Beer bottles on: 2006 May 01, 06:21:41
Pegasys have you looked on Insiminator.net, or wherever fireflies posts her foods these days because I am almost certain she or someone else did exactly that, bud version of the insta-meal, I used to have it and I'm sure that's where it was from.
39  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: CONFESS! How many of you pay for downloads? on: 2006 February 21, 23:48:39
But what would you do with a team of Russian Cossacks?  Cheesy

I didn't know this was that type of confessional....... Tongue
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: CONFESS! How many of you pay for downloads? on: 2006 February 21, 21:17:12
Now see this is the way I see it.

Firstly, no one makes anyone pay for downloads, if you don't want to, don't.  It really is that simple.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on paysites, and sure, say they suck if that's what you think.  But make sure you are actually saying it out of an ethical standpoint.  Not "Paysites suck becuase there's something I want on that site but I can't have it boo hoo!" Not that I am saying any of those who have expressed their opinion here is like that.  And believe me when I say if I did think that, I would say it.

I have downloaded from free sites and donation sites and subscription sites.  I have also created for free sites and donation sites, and subscription sites. It's my money, I can choose what to spend it on, and if that means I want to sub to a sims site, or if I was to hire a team of Russian Cossacks that's my choice.

There are some sites who are blatantly making a profit, but then so does every shop/store and if you want to get funny about people charging for game-related stuff, take a look on e-bay.  Not just CD's of sims downloads, (probably not created by the Seller at all) to plans and schematics for games like Eve-online.  At the end of the day we live in a consumer driven society.

What irks me about donation sites though is when sites split stes.  Like "Download out fansatic new FREE!! bedroom set (apart from the bed and dresser which are donation objects)  Well, it's either a free bedroom set, then the bed would be free since last I looked it was pretty essential for a bedroom to have a bed, or it's adonation set with freebies.  Let's stop getting the two confused.

And while I'm at it, about the diva-ish-ness of creators, I don't get that either.  Perhaps I am not of an artistic enough temprament.  Personally I create because I enjoy it.  not for fame, or glory or recognition.  I couldn't gove a hoot if no one has my stuff in ther game, or if a few do, or even if everyone does.  Big Whoop!  I enjoyed creating it, I enjoy having it in my game, so I choose to share with other who may or may not decide they like and want it too, but at the end of the day, take my stuff, redisribute it, cut and paste it into a franken-recolour, whatever.  Just as long as it's being used and enjoyed.  The constant diva tantrums of "Oh I saw somene upload my bikini I made to the exchange, now I shall never create again because my fragile ego can't stand the thought that all shall not know my name and bow before my truely might bikini creations!" it's just an attention seeking ploy, it's really a cry of "Quick, stroke my ego, I'm not feeling the love!"

41  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's the best method for editing family relationships on: 2006 February 12, 04:38:40
Don't get me started on this again.  Just....don't....make....me....do....it
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Greet me, Kiss me, Kill you... on: 2006 February 07, 20:08:43
Right lets just get one thing straight right off.  I'm and inteen and insim user (in fact check the credits for the insim, you'll find my name among many others there).  I've been using Insim since v1.1 and Inteen for months and I have never had any thing resembling "Bloated buggy crap".

First of, Gwill, I don't actually care to listen to anything you have to say on this subject you have freely admitted that you have never and will never use Inteen or Insim, any further comments by you are therefore, in my view, null and void.  I don't actually give a flying crap if you're a programmer, or a chimpanzee, don't talk shit about a download you know nothing about.

I really don't understand why people feel the need to bad-mouth a particular download of any kind.  If you don't like it, don't use it, or if you have any knowledge on the subject then perhaps offer constructive critisism.  But for the love of all that is simlish at least know your mod before you start!

I am so damn freaking pissed off with the mud slinging about Inteen and InSim, I know tons of happy simmers using these mods and you know what?  I don't see a particular decline in the kitten population, nor an increase in the number of games blowing up if they are used correctly.

There are mod conflicts all over the community, it's always, ALWAYS been a case of pick and choose which you want unless you make them yourself, and since we're all here downloading awesome hacks, them we obviously either can't, won't, or are too lazy.  Oh if I could be bothered to roll my entire hack subdirectory into one file I'd do it in a New York minute, and you know what else?  I like the "bloated crap" that Inteen offers, back in it's early days when he was much more of a t/woo-pregnancy thing I didn't use it at all, but the ingenuity behind all of the functions astounds me at times.

This is likely to make me unpopular here but I couldn't give two hoots, but I distinctly get the feeling a lot of the "Unawesomeness" around here about InTeen and InSim is because JM says it's so.  Often you idiots remind me of the BBS Sheep. "JM says I need this I must download it, even though I don't actually know what it does"  Or "JM says it sucks so it must"  He, I'm not as subtle or polite as Sleepycat, those of you like that, and you know who you are, no point denying it, are FanBoys/Girls You really should try to think for yourselves every once in a while, to Quote Edmund Blackadder - Thinking is SO Important.

If Inteen/Insim isn't to your playing style, then fair enough, don't use them, but don't try and destory the reputation of a mod just because you don't like it personally.  That'snothing but cyber-gossip.
43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Any dope on the new mini expansion packs? on: 2006 February 07, 10:09:30
Well, I shall probably have them fairly soon after they come out.  My ex seems to think keeping me supplied in Sim products as soon as they're on the market is part of the divorce settlement or something.

So I will let him buy them for me and let y'all know how they turn out  Grin

*Feels irritatingly smug about the way I cleaned out my downlaods*

I didn't have any baldies, but then I took the time to change all my sims hair to default and didn't open my game at all until I was done cleaning out.  I had a couple of sims who ended up in the burgandy and cream shirt/capri's and many of my men are now wearing a default suit.  But I can deal with that  for as long as it takes me to redress them all Smiley

A 8GB download folder?  Wow, I wonder what the limit is on the size of the downloads folder.  I believe in TS1 you couldn't get even half that size in the entire Sims folder.

Au contraire.  Just to prove what a download ho I am and have always been, my TS1 downloads reached a grand total of 12GB by the end
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Default Replacement Skins on: 2006 February 03, 00:04:28
you can download what 've already done from www.sim2living.com (it's a paysite so be fore-warned)  Or I did send them to Maggie from romance sims, but I don't know if she has them up on her site right now.  The issue I have is I have absolutely no hosting available to me right now, so anyone who wants the default onesies I've already done, PM me and I'll mail you something (maybe if I remember, a bottle of wine to myself an a few marital probelms are blurring my sense of reality right now)
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Default Replacement Skins on: 2006 February 02, 20:02:35
angelyne,

I think the default override of the baby diaper Sleepycat is talking about is the one I did, if there's any requests for the sleep-suit or anyone wants a particular texture, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: But it seemed like such a good idea at the time! on: 2006 February 01, 08:16:40
Ahh yes, see as Misty pointed out, when making something I move my downloads folder out of the game, zip zip, speedy loading.

The problem with so many of these downloading "rules" is they don't fit my playing style at all.

I can't swap in and out folders according to themed hoods, because I only play one hood.

I play with aging off, so keeping toddlers clothes down while possible, is less accurate.  My toddlers are toddlers for four real-time months, my children are children for eight real-time months.

I have 92 residential lots, incuding multi-family lots such as apartments and duplexes, and as someone said before, it gets so tedious decorating essentially the same five times or more.

I have somewhere close to 365 playable sims, so to get a varied look across the 'hood, that's a lot of clothes/hair (even taking one outfit for each sim for each clothing type)
49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: But it seemed like such a good idea at the time! on: 2006 February 01, 03:59:14
MisterPaper (oh I don't know why but I am loving your name lol)

It's definately the size of your downloads folder Smiley  My system has been totally overhauled in the last three months (New mobo, new CPU (twice), new PSU, More RAM, new graphics, in fact everything except the case and drives) and I have 1GB of RAM, and a 3.3GHz CPU, and my downloads folder is currently at 2.42GB (I know it's increased again, I SWEAR I didn't do it *looks shifty*) My game's not so bad now, takes maybe 5 or 6 minutes to load, perfectly acceptable from my point of view.
50  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sorry for sounding like a dolt. Question about aging_off and birth and stuff on: 2006 January 31, 03:53:45
Oh don't even get me started on my aging routines.  I have spreadsheets on them lol.

No one ages unless I say they can, when I say they can, it'd mess up my spreadsheet!

Oh for the love of all that is vaguely sane, someone either tell me I am not the only one this anal about my sims, or beat over the head until I fall unconscious!
