Like I said Im such a novice I cant create a working user startupcheat or I would probably be Just Fine Embarrassed

The only things in my userstartup cheat are for the tv volume and the max # of visiting sims.  I'd imagine it'd work in any version of the game.

If you can't get it sorted, PM me with your email addy and I'll email it to you.

Hook, I'm positive I installed the right one.

Twice now actually...lol.

Brynne, I know I put my two cents in that thread as well.  Don't remember who started it.  But yes, it was installing Uni that made the facial animations stop in the first place.

Hook, I haven't noticed a correlation between the two, but I will pay attention and verify next time I play. I never noticed it before the patch either, which is why I had thought that it was a hak conflicting.  You'd think one would notice if every single Sim had that thought bubble every single time someone went to the loo...lol.

Re: max # of visitors...I have that in my userstartup cheat file.  I just put it back in, so will go test it out and see if it works or not for me...

EDIT: Max # of visitors in my userstartup cheat file is working fine for me.

I hope you sort your issue out!

155  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Don't hate me because I have to pee... on: 2005 October 16, 23:02:54
Okay...I've noticed that it's most prevelant when in the dorm...seems they all think about it when someone goes.  All at the same time.  Highly annoying, but not caused by a hak.  Good to know I've ruled out a hak as the cause of this issue.  When in a normal residential lot, they don't all do it all at the same time, nor do they always do it.  Seems rather sporadic.  Now can someone make a hak to make them stop thinking of it all at the same time? That is just creepy...lol.

And about the talking on the phone...I am running no haks at the moment and the Simmies are animated on the phone again.  So its possible either a) a hak does conflict with that code now or b) my earlier instal was somehow fubar'd.  Wish I know which it was, but can only find out thru process of elimination.

Thanks everyone for helping sort this out Smiley .  Makes me feel better knowing others have experienced it too.

Okay, I have uninstalled Uni and reinstalled it, plus the patch, and have no haks at the moment in my game.

So far, it doesn't appear that everyone is suddenly thinking about the person going to the bathroom.  (The thought truly just disgusts me...let them do their own business in there, geesh...)

The animations for the moment are back when they are talking on the telephone.

Now the fun begins trying to narrow down where the conflicts are...ugh.

Well now this is interesting...note: I do NOT have Nightlife.

Error messages galore in game now pertaining to the PleasureSeeker and Grilled Cheese Aspirations since installing the patch.

I only have base + Uni.

i.e. "ERROR Production: Want node in tree 0xce11bd96 has an illegal attribute key = PleasureSeeker.
.\source\TSWantTreeManager.cpp(582)
ERROR Production: Want node in tree 0xce11bd96 has an illegal attribute key = GrilledCheese.
.\source\TSWantTreeManager.cpp(582)"

And it keeps repeating, over and over and over...

Something definitely is wrong with the patch.  Of course I don't have PleasureSeeker or Grilled Cheese wants...I don't own NL!

Again, I have the base game + Uni + patch installed.

I have not yet removed any mods made redundant by the patch, as I was under the impression that was not necessary.  Though I will at some point get around to doing it, I want to try and sort out this issue first.  I do believe something is conflicting, because when I take ALL of them out, it doesn't appear to happen.  Note that my Sims talking on the phone still don't have their animations back either, no matter if all the haks are there or not now.  (I think that has to do with replacing the objects.package yesterday and not saving a backup of the one that was there first.  Well I did that to try and fix a Sim who had missing want icons...yes, post-patch...**sigh**)

Well that's my list.  If you have any other suggestions as to which one may narrow it down, it would be much appreciated.  Otherwise I'll work on uninstalling, reinstalling later today.

Thanks,
Smiley Smiley Smiley

Thanks for the suggestions on this.  I am going to uninstall and reinstall and test to try and see if its one of the haks now conflicting with the patch.

I'll look at the noroutefail and manualnavigation haks first.

Nope, it's not funny when they do it *every single time* they go pee.

And it just started happening that I noticed it since I patched the game earlier today.

Earlier, my Sim's mouths were moving just fine after patching as well when they were talking on the phone.

Now, it's back to static faces yet again.

I fear another unfortunate re-install is in order...

This is just *not right* ...

I did a major edit on my earlier post.

I noticed tonight...my Sims on my Uni lots do NOT have their facial animations back when speaking on the telephone.

As well, I'm still getting the message that so-and-so are no longer best friends when one of the Sims is deceased.

I'm so majorly disappointed....

Well, depending on how many Sims are on the lot at once, I have noticed when all those thought bubbles pop up at exactly the same time, there is a bit of lag.

It is still continuing in the game, after a restart.

Glad to know I'm not the only one with this weirdness!

163  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Don't hate me because I have to pee... on: 2005 October 16, 03:17:20
Seriously...now why does everyone think bad thoughts about the poor guy just because he's using the bathroom?

I have Uni installed, plus the latest patch.

This is the first time I've noticed that they all get the thought bubble of the person using the bathroom, with an "X" over it, EVERY time ANYONE goes to the restroom, anywhere in Uni.  I haven't tried it in the regular 'hood, but it's quite prevelant in both the Uni dorms now and on the Uni community lots.

It also happens when they are going to take a shower as well.  The showers and toilets are all in enclosed bathrooms, with doors on them.  Below is a closeup of the thought bubble that appears very strange, like there is more than one bubble there, stacked on top of each other.

And I must say, this is highly annoying!

MAJOR EDIT:

The below is NOT true for Uni lots.  On my Uni lots, my Sims still aren't getting animations while talking on the phone.  How very disappointing this is!

One thing that I wanted to note about the patch for Uni:

It did fix the facial animations when the Sims are talking on the house phone.

That had been my #1 eyesore since the game came out because that problem was one that none of the modders could fix.

I can't tell you how much it bothered me.  *Ready to throw the game out the window* bother me level.

I did not test it with the cell phones yet,  since none of my Sims at the moment have cellphones.  Hopefully that was fixed as well.

Elvira, here here! I agree totally about the inconsistant pie menus.  They must not actually play long enough to get used to them being in one position is all I can think of, else it would annoy the crap outta them too!

Zephyr, yeah it's low priority.  Same with actually coming out with any patch for Uni.  I was hoping more for a third party fix for it...at least that way, it'd get done sooner rather than later.

Misty...did you notice if it only happens with custom clothing? I did not test it out with Maxis clothing, or a combination of Maxis and custom clothing...my bad for not doing so.  I will try to remember to test it.  If its only happening with custom content, then it's got to be some setting in *something* that I've downloaded that's causing this, because it certainly wasn't happening as little as two weeks ago and yes, I did have some custom clothing in there then that wasn't causing this problem.  Now rooting it out will be a nightmare...argh.

Well, I was a wee bit worried because this is the first time that its happened to my game.  And I've had base and Uni both since they were released.

I don't like it when unknown new things creep up in my game...lol

It's only been recently that I've really started downloading clothing (and none with new meshes) and was wondering if that possibly is triggering it.  I had a limited amount of custom clothing before the reinstall, but not as many as I have now...lol.

I have had other weird clothing glitches before, but this one was a first.

And it's highly annoying especially since I am buying a top and a bottom at the same time.  And they already have more tops and bottoms in their dresser.

Glad to know it isn't just happening in my game.  Now if someone could only fix it...lol.

...until you purchase both a top and a bottom.  Are you sure you want to purchase this outfit now?"

Argh...how annoying! Especially since I AM purchasing both a top and a bottom at the same time.

It'll let me still buy the clothes, and from what I can tell, still wear them.

However whenever I go to buy seperates (everyday wear) it's giving me this message.

This seems to be a fairly recent development in my game, and I'm clueless as to what is causing it.

Anyone know what's going on?

I only have base+Uni installed if that helps.

Edited to add:  I do not have any clothing haks in my game.

Thanks,

Thank you aussieone and vecki Smiley

Now vecki, you aren't supposed to be truly jealous til I tell you that all I've done is change my eating habits and a lil bit more walking now than I used to :p ...and not exactly on purpose either...lol.  Started a new job in July and that has me walking more built-into my job...lol.  So I don't realize that I'm actually getting a workout til it's all said and done...lol.

Way to go, Ivy! Good on ya as the Brits or somebody would say!

Thank you reg Cheesy  And I'll take a "good on ya" anyday...I have lots of friends from Austraila and New Zealand and they say that there as well Smiley And from what I have been told, is a very high compliment indeed Cheesy

Uni was waiting for me in the mail the very day my husband got out of the hospital from having a heart attack.  That is precisely the day we started our healthy eating habits.

And my avatar is the "new me" Cheesy

Ya know...in the time it's taken for these people to release the patch...I've lost 5 dress sizes...that translates to 45lbs.

Just imagine what THEY could do if they actually put their minds to it!

173  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Submit Issues about Nightlife on: 2005 September 22, 12:25:21
I hate to really sound sour about the whole issue, but this is what happened after Uni was released.

The form was put up for 4 months before anything was mentioned of it again.  We submitted form after form, and apparently they went *poof* somewhere in lalaland, because nothing yet has been done...i.e. we still don't have the patch for Uni.

Part of the reason why coming here to this BBS helps you out so much Tom is that it's easier to get more detailed information that someone simply submitting a post...you can ask for clarification and get it here.

I thought with that, ya'll had finally learned something.

Guess that I was wrong.

174  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The boycot worked! on: 2005 September 21, 00:00:44
Well, one could hope anyway! Glad to see it's doing poorly!

I still will not buy NL until both Uni and NL are fixed.  And I still think it's ridiculous they are holding back the Uni patch until they patch NL as well...   Angry

175  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / No autonomous kicky bag or pillow fight? on: 2005 September 20, 23:57:42
I know of the hak to limit kicky bag to outdoors, and the hak that pillowfights must happen in a room that has a bed in it and the target, but are there haks to prevent such things from occuring at all unless the Sims are directed to do so?

I'd also love the ability to do without the pranks altogether.

I have Uni, not NL installed.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Ivy
