26  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Adoptees Retaining Original Parents? on: 2006 March 28, 21:05:57
The adoption stuff annoys me too. I had a gal get pregnant by accident and use Inges bush to put her baby up for adoption. Her mother adopted the baby by calling the social worker and that's no big deal. But Pepermint (the birth mother) still remembers giving birth. Therefore it is highly annoying that she can interact with her own child as if she has no idea who she is. I fixed memories with simpe and family ties with the InSim so it's not like I don't have workarounds but still.

I think when a family has their child taken by the social worker (like another family in my hood) they should "cry softly" when they see them after that. Or even just think of them and cry. Same for the kid if it was older than toddler stage when it was taken. But no. Instead they cry for a minute when the kid is leaving and then imediately go to play the piano or goof off like they are happy as larks.
27  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Do You Fast Forward? on: 2006 March 24, 02:44:59
I play on 3 and 2 a lot but since I also pause a lot I guess it evens out right? I only slow down to 1 for parties, play/romantic dates and other relationship building "events".
In fact I've recently discovered that huge un-official "block" parties with most of the hood in attendance are my very favorite things to do. I just kind of let things happen at these parties. It puts a little spice into the sims lives I think.

I have aging and freewill on but I use the InSim to add or remove days as I see fit. Little kids/todlers/babies suck so I just do a few things with them and then skip ahead. All those stages are really good for is a makeover, "aww how cute" and a few pics. Well, with the kids I do a little social to set up for future frienships and such. I usually remove a couple days from their parents and siblings lives also just to keep things together. Not usually as many as I've removed from the kids though since teen and adult are my fave stages. Also on occasion I have added a few (7 at most. well i don't know... nevermind) days to a sims life for varying reasons.

I am still playing sims from when I first started. Only a few people have died. Usually because I killed them.
28  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Family Fun pack at *GRASPS* $20.00! on: 2006 March 16, 21:06:59
It would be cool if we could get a tree swing like in the original sims console game. That would fit a family theme. But I doubt they would have thought of it.
29  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: We have Rape/impregnation, Necrophilia, and STDs. whats next for the expansion? on: 2006 February 14, 20:55:52
Oh I love my DVR. Nothing on this earth is more awful than pressing skip and realizing you are watching your channel "live".
30  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: We have Rape/impregnation, Necrophilia, and STDs. whats next for the expansion? on: 2006 February 14, 19:56:10
Man I agree. Nothing pisses me off more than watching perfectly innocent tv (on any channel) and having some really awfull ad come on. Whether it's for a horror movie or some stupid shampoo or even cofee for Gods sake. HELLO people. Some lady pretending to get off in the shower has no place in a kids viewing line-up. Much less a comercial asking what you would do when faced with PURE EVIL.
On top of that I think some shows say stupid stuff without thinking. Like in a review of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where they compared it to an acid trip. Yeah, DUH retard. But it's a kids film and I don't think they should be hearing about that crap just yet. Much less as if it were fun or a "wild ride". Morons.
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Valentine's Day Maxis Content on: 2006 February 09, 21:37:22
I wonder why they didn't make the antenae as an accessory? Surely they could have learned how by now from the modders out there. lol.
They would have actually been usefull then.
32  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Valentine's Day Maxis Content on: 2006 February 09, 00:59:01
My guy and I go away for V-day weekend every year instead of doing gifts. I love it! For the first 3 V-days we went to a gorgeous restaurant in an old historic house on the lake but then they closed down. That restaurant has since re-opened as a B&B but we decided not to go since it is in a city we know like the backs of our hands. One year we went and stayed at a mountain top hotel and it snowed and it was beautiful. We can never go back there because it couldn't possibly be as good as that again. So each year we go somewhere new. It's kind of exciting.

We aren't married but on our first Valentines together I kissed him for the very first time. It was not our first date and we went to the afore mentioned gorgeous retaurant. He swept me off my feet I guess. So anyway it is the closest thing we have to an anniversary and we go all out.
33  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Any dope on the new mini expansion packs? on: 2006 February 09, 00:29:28
I want fireworks. Didn't the holiday pack have fireworks?
I'm going to have to replace my base game disk anyway since I lost it. Had to borrow my dads disk when I needed to install on my new computer. Guess I'll get all the holiday stuff with that.
34  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Getting the husband to take his wife's name on: 2006 February 08, 22:42:29
It's surely the hack. I had it in my folder by accident once even though I try to always de-select it when installing the directors cut.
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does This Sim Scare The Bejesus Outta You? on: 2006 February 08, 22:38:42
I think your sim doesn't need the surgery.
In the original pic she was a cute monkey looking girl. The second pic was scary. The third just kind of plain. She looks much better as an adult. Still a little off but not very bad. She isn't so much ugly as just not pretty.
On the other hand it took me some agonizing before I let Meadow have babies with that blue haired Uni guy because of his nose so I can't be certain I wouldn't change her if she was in my game. His kids haven't grown up yet so I guess I'll find out just how accepting I am later.
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Greet me, Kiss me, Kill you... on: 2006 February 07, 22:43:18
I love the InTeen and the InSim. I love that the InTeen has everything I need for it to have. I like all of the options (except the go steady before engagement) and I use them. I also love the InSim. I use nearly all the options pretty often. So for me it makes sense. On the other hand I have other hacks that do some of what the InSim does and one thing it doesn't. Gosh it sure would be nice if I could just have the one thing InSim doesn't do instead of a whole hat full of stuff. It would be cool if they added it to the InSim.  Tongue  But oh well.

As to hack conflicts I have the Clothing Tool and Moniques Computer the yellow DMA Burgalar Alarm and obviously the InTeen and InSim as well plus many more. I'm sure I read it if it was in the RTFM but I haven't experienced any "problems" that I was aware of before reading here. I never go to UNI anymore and I thought the clothing tool worked properly. I had no idea. It's no big deal though since the way it works suits me fine.

I also have Casual Romance and the Romance Mod and I love them all to bits too! And when you set all your prefs for the Casual Romance aren't you just adding and removing bits of functionality there? Yes? I thought so. (but isn't that great?!)
37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Taking a census on: 2006 February 01, 21:32:28
I also wish there was also a way to remove or prune people from the relationship panel, especially the ones that you have 0 relationship points with. Too bad they don't just drop off automatically so that you wouldn't have to waste the space or have them clutter up your relationship panel.

Ste

I want that too! I have spent much time wishing I could just click to get rid of some of those useless people. I guess they have to be there so your sim will know they've met them? But why when they don't really know them at all? Even if they can't be gotten rid of it would be nice if all 0/0 relationships could become invisible or hidden from the panel view somehow. It's a pain to scroll through all those nobodys to get to the guy you are furious with. And sometimes the panel gets weird and the scrolling loops and it won't stop at the begining anymore.  Angry

Anyway, yeah, that would be cool.

What is "Power" aspiration?
39  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Taking a census on: 2006 January 31, 00:23:44
This sounds cool. I'm interested in age, sex, asperation, zodiac, career and if possible also turn ons/offs. This would be so usefull. But it would be even cooler if you could do townies and playable sims seperately. The townie info squished in together would make the playable sims info harder to gauge if you were only interested in them.

I am such a loser. I got to a page with singing horses and was having so much fun with it that I opened a second window and tried to get them all timed to harmonize. lol. I got all of them but the poom chh chh horse to synch up. woohoo.

Thanks for posting this.
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is this possible? Someone want to try? on: 2006 January 25, 20:15:45
This reminds me of an article I saw recently on "murder houses." Some people think real estate agents should disclose if a horrific crime has taken place in a house, and that the price should be adjusted accordingly. I don't believe in the poltergeist thing, so I feel like I wouldn't want to know. Although, if it could get me a discount....

I'm not sure where you are or what country but I thought in the U.S. it was a law that they do have to tell you. Not sure if you have to ask or if they have to volunteer the info though. I'm sure in some cases it does have an effect on the cost of the home.

I can definitely say that I Would want to know because how awful would it be to find out After you bought the house. That would just be too creepy even though I don't really belive in ghosts either. Because I Do believe in my ability to be silly and stupid about things at the most inconvenient/unexpected times.

As to the rent/lowered value thing I'm interested in something like that too but figure the loan shrubs do it well enough. I guess if you just always pay the fees and never pay off the loan that is like paying rent. My download folder is full enough already.
(note that that won't stop me from dl a hundred more things if I like them. lol)
43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: ????? No time 'unfreezing' in OFB ????? on: 2006 January 25, 20:01:55
Why can't you just have your sims meditate for the amount of time they were away?

And I don't think the teen years last too long. Since I have the InTeen (with the independant days at the end of the stage) they are my favorite time. I never play Uni so I pack some of the young adult type behaviors into the end of teen and begining of adult stages. I get a little bored with the toddler and child years. I usually just speed up time or use InSim to subtract days for everyone when I am tired of a stage.
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OT - You know you're an internet geek when.... on: 2006 January 24, 21:45:39
I met my guy in a strip club which is like a bar only better. We chatted on-line a few times after that but never in any meaningfull way. Just general chit chat.  What actually got us together was later when I lost my internet and would go over to his house to mooch his. Somehow magic happened and love was born. So we met the (sort of) old fashioned way but the internet brought us together.
I mean how could I not appreciate a guy that had already seen me half naked, was a good (internet) provider and oh yeah, he saved some wild kittens from a well (okay honestly this is the thing that caught me) by sawing a hole in his laundry room floor and climbing down inside to get them.
He's my hero.

Your prison is really cool humybyrd.
So just out of curiosity what gets a sim locked up? Just fighting? Or does stealing gnomes and kicking headstones count too? Is there more?
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This can't be good on: 2006 January 10, 21:24:57
Can you not just apply for the scholarship before they reach the psuedo adult days of the teen stage?
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: All my plans Ruined! on: 2006 January 10, 21:20:04
Last time i played my game I tried to change my sim self from pleasure to family since she is married with kids now. Unfortunately that took her and her sim husband down to one bolt. Of course I imediately switched back to pleasure. There's no way she's letting him get away! I was disappointed, but not really suprised I guess, to see that their asperation played such a huge part in their chemistry.
48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This can't be good on: 2006 January 10, 03:05:46
LOL. Maybe I'm a sucker but I was wondering the same thing.
Surely if there isn't one one could be written. They could use a random chance of the flu basically right?
49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This can't be good on: 2006 January 09, 23:45:14
I absolutely LOVE the InTeen. I don't recall having any trouble with the current release.
My sims are also teens for as long as I feel like having them that way. I speed some up and slow some down. I like that they have some school free days before moving to the next stage. Some of my teen gals/guys are eventually seduced by unscrupulous persons or their boyfriends/girlfriends. Then again some of them are just harlots and some are sweet innocent angels. I have had a few teen moms as well and some raise babies and some send them off to the adoption pool.

I also have Casual Woohoo. I could wait for them to fall in love but why? Especially when it doesn't suit my story. I actually wish it were easier to get one sim to like another better than they like them back. It would be really nice to have someone in love with someone who doesn't come close to liking them as much without cheating. (Hope that made sense.)
The plus of all this is that it's fun and moves the story forward. Otherwise everyones story would be the same.
50  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Family Allowance/Child Benefit for sim parents? on: 2006 January 08, 16:32:38
I don't think my sister is a welfare cheat. I think she was in a bad situation and was forced to make a bad decision. She couldn't afford food, rent etc. and childcare as well. She only pays 250 a month in rent for a tiny basement apt. but in a good neighborhood. She's lucky she's not stuck in crack town where her rent would probably be higher anyway.
I guess I just think it's stupid that they claim they want to put welfare moms to work but they won't even help them keep the jobs they already have.
