76  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a new no-CD/no-DVD crack for FT patch #2?? on: 2008 June 07, 13:18:44
Er.. that does look like the new one.  Has anyone tried it out?

Edit: I don't know if thats an actual no-cd though.  Maybe just a fixed .exe?
77  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 June 07, 10:55:35
I reckon it's more likely that they'd get rid of someone who proved it to them.

Awful image

What the fuck Fourcats.  Offensive, not appropriate, not even relevant.  Try to be a little less fail.  Get that shit out of this thread.
78  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 June 03, 23:00:36
I attempted to install the patch last night.  No errors on the patch installation, but any attempt to actually run the game (either via the launcher or the Sims2EP7.exe -- I never use the launcher normally but tried it this time just in case it might have fixed it, no luck) just gave an error message, something about a "conflict with the emulation software".  This was before it even started up the game, let alone got to the neighborhoods, so it can't be hack-related.

I ended up uninstalling FT and reinstalling it.  Fortunately I managed to get a current backup of my hood from SimPE prior to uninstalling, so I didn't lose anything.

I'm running Vista, all EPs, and several of the SPs including the KBID one.  I have never had the slightest problem installing a patch before, but I'm not going to try that again.  What a waste of time!   Angry

Karen

I got this message trying to use a no-cd crack that Vista didn't like.  Don't try to run an Unholy Hybrid and use a Vitality no-cd crack.
79  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: And now for some... TRIANGULATED BOOBS! on: 2008 May 29, 23:42:15
For serious.
It looks like you drew the first one with MSPaint.  Also, there is a teacup hovering about the bathtub.
80  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 May 29, 22:08:10
can i not just use a standard no-cd exe now, then replace it with it with the securom one when it comes out, then patch the newer no-cd exe?

BTW, how long do you guys expect to wait for this updated exe?

I believe you misunderstand.  No-cd crack .exe files are used so you don't have to load the game from the CD or DVD.  Bypassing the CD, means that you avoid installing securom (bad thing) on your computer.  When you patch, the no-cd crack is out-of-date, since it was made for the non-patched game.  This may cause problems due to what we call the "unholy hybrid" (patched game with non-patch no-cd .exe).  Thus, people wait to patch the game until a no-cd crack for the patch comes out, so that we can continue to avoid securom (bad thing).

Hehe, GJ.  I wasn't going to touch that one.

Wonder if the next EP Apartments will re-break some of these fixes or do more harm to the game it self.
Considering their inability to learn from past mistakes or actually use anything resembling logic, it's a definite. I thought that Lord Darcy postulated that the reason bugs and such keep recurring is because they are building the EPs & SPs all off the (unpatched) Pets engine. Well, duh. If you keep building off the same engine you knew had bugs without fixing it, you're going to keep getting the same bugs.

This upsets me, as Pets was the most bugged up expansion to date.
81  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Official patch not working? on: 2008 May 29, 18:11:25
any hacks for:

>triple speed community lots?

This bug has been around since at least Pets, as I recall, and I don't think anyone's ever made a fix for it.  I still have it happen now and then.

I only got this bug with BV.  It's the stuff like this that proves that nobody who works on the Sims2 series actually plays the game.
82  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 May 29, 16:00:09
Holy crap.  This is the longest list yet.  How the hell do they fuck this much up and not notice?

Waiting for a no-cd, like the rest heh.
83  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Official patch not working? on: 2008 May 28, 08:54:42
Yeap.
Make a copy of it to be sure.  I usually zip my EA Games folder up with winrar and keep it handy.
84  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Vista and Free Time Halp on: 2008 May 27, 13:46:16
Yeap, downloaded a new torrent and its all better.

Hey guys

I'm trying to install the vitality Freetime on to my Vista laptop, but its coming up with the error "Cannot copy Tsdata~/Casthumbnails.package from the media"

I am at my wits end here.  Is it possible I got a bum download?
87  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: EA/Maxis has found the Nvidia problem! on: 2008 March 13, 01:16:00
I want to say that people running Norton have it coming to them anyway. There's no excuse to have that bloater on your system when there are so many free and effective firewalls/anti-virus programs.

But yeah. Saying that you should turn off your anti-virus before playing is a little bit cheeky. More than a little bit. Why not just fix that memory leak of yours?

I read that as they "suspected" it was the games fault, but really, its Nortons!
Which may or may not be truth, but that's what I think they're saying.
88  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: EA/Maxis has found the Nvidia problem! on: 2008 March 13, 01:08:11
norton isn't our firewall and anti virus.  humm.  don't sim and net, that would require a lot of self-control.

Ok wait what.  Do you even have the Nvidia crashes? If not... why are you complaining about turning Norton off?

Its been said since the basegame came out that Norton and Sims won't play nice together.  Hell Norton doesn't play nice with anything.
89  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: EA/Maxis has found the Nvidia problem! on: 2008 March 13, 00:57:39
They're always said disable your antivirus/firewall.

Theres a simple solution Fourcats.  Don't Sim and Net.

Otherwise get rid of crappy Norton.

Is the Visitor Controller fully working with FT now?

92  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My Secret Science Club is Don Lotharios House on: 2008 March 04, 21:28:31
Ok so it turns out.. I'm not 100% on this, but I think my game spawns more than one hobby lot.

At first I thought this was just a graphical error, but now it seems like those lots are different places.  (Yes I realise thats not the Science lot but its the same for all my hobbies).

Basically, the first "Hobby" lot in the phonebook is Dons house.  The next two are the correct Science club.

My arts and crafts lot does this too.  I haven't been to Fake Backwards House Club yet for that one though.  To be honest, Fake Backwards Houses are a helleva lot more interesting than the clubs.  Whoever designs EA lots needs to be shot in the face.

94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Borked needs bars. on: 2008 February 29, 00:38:43
Have you just installed FT?

If so, welcome to the club.  Everyones motives are dropping quickly.
95  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Stupid Question - be gentle on: 2008 February 28, 23:35:03
Yes they are compatible.  Keep an eye out for more updates for the next couple of days though.

Yes, overwrite old hacks with new ones.
96  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My Secret Science Club is Don Lotharios House on: 2008 February 28, 22:21:22
Don is dead!
I shall send a sim round to kick his grave.
97  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My Secret Science Club is Don Lotharios House on: 2008 February 28, 21:59:56
Hey you're right, the house is backwards.

The FUCK?
98  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My Secret Science Club is Don Lotharios House on: 2008 February 28, 20:22:57
Whats with the weird L-shaped warp section?

I have no idea.  But its like a mirror.  If I move the camera around, I can see reflections of bits of hill and cliff that don't exist.

99  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My Secret Science Club is Don Lotharios House on: 2008 February 28, 09:45:35
Right.

I have no idea how to fix this so I would like to build the secret lot myself.  Does anyone know how to do this?  The instructions for building a BV secret lot, will not work.
