Title: Evil kids
Post by: VJay on 2005 December 10, 19:23:42
whoa this is the very first the thread i make on here. humm anyway, i've noticed one the kids in my game goes walking around with a pointed finger and an evil wicked look on her face. She sends some sort of electroshocks to random visitors.  :o i had never seen it before! is that a new feature in NL? it's hilarious though.

Another thing, I've got a glitch in CAS with one of the new NL outfits for elder women. Anybody know what causes it?  :-\
See picture below.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help.  :)

I love it! What a great asset to the game. I've seen the scrunched up mean little face in other people's screenshots but don't think I've ever seen the reason for it explained.

I think the elder outfit may be a result of display settings, *apparently, outfits are created in layers and a lower settings will only show one layer (the mesh?) Changing to a higher setting should help.

*disclaimer - I just happened to read that at VS the other day but can't remember who said it

I've seen my kids do that-but only to their nanny! They rub their feet on the carpet and give out little electric shocks! ;D They look so evilly cute.

Shocking nannies?...finally the kids are good for something.

What personality does that child have? Low Nice points?

And as for the elder outfit - holy shit! With "holy"/holey being the operative word!

It's never happened to me, but maybe it only works with maxis rugs? Not with buy mode carpet. It looks like the original poster has a maxis rug in the same screenshot with the kid. Seeing as how I never use maxis rugs it would explain why it hasn't happened to me.

Need instructions! Now!  ;D

I'm making a story right now with a Sims 1 recreated family.  I finally got them to have a baby girl (3rd try) and she's up to a toddler.

Just ratched her nice points down because she was a witch of a child in Sims 1.  I had all of these happy families in TS1, and this girl didn't like anybody in her family.  It was my main family that I played constantly, over a year, and I couldn't get her to get along with anyone.

So, I need her to run around with an evil look on her face and shock people in TS2.  That she turned out quite pretty (so far) makes it all the better.

I'll just sit here and wait.  (And thanks for those pics.  They are hysterical.)

Yeah, you need a rug...I think it is totally automonous though, you just have to watch out for it  ;)

I am totally confused about the rug.  What the dickens does a rug have to do with kids pointing at people?  The kid isn't even standing on the rug!  Whatever causes this to happen, I can't believe it's a rug.  Even Maxis aren't that weird.

Wait until wintertime (when the air is very dry), put on some rubber-soled shoes, shuffle your feet on a woolen rug, and then touch a doorknob or a light switch.  You should get a nice zap from the static electricity.  Rubber gloves and a cat work well too.

Au contraire.  It IS the rug.  ;D  And yeah, it's only the Maxis NL one that does it. Be nice if someone could make it into a pie menu item though.

No, but I just wondered why!  I feel ignored.  And now I can't even see it!  It's gone!  I think installing Trillian has done something!  All my message info etc has gone too.

Because you're never in chat, Pescado normally only puts people in there who've been in the chat and escaped being kicked.

Emma is an exception of sorts.

My info is back.  Now, listen, I downloaded trillian, and I still can't even find the Chat room Door!!!  Where is it hiding?

Thanks.  I'll have a look.

I can't even understand how to work trillian!  It's ridiculously complicated!  And it's 4.57 am here, and I'm just too tired to try.

What I want to know is, are you going to let us have your self-sim for the MATY neighborhood?  That's you in the first picture, getting zapped, right?

Do adults give people electric shocks off the rug too?

Title: Re: Evil kids
Post by: ElviraGoth on 2005 December 11, 13:25:58
I remember seeing a child do this one time shortly after I got NL.  I think they must have had a rug, too.  Have a rug in a dorm at UNI but haven't seen any of the YAs do it.

Hadn't really thought about putting in many rugs.  I have a couple of homes with bath mats, but haven't seen anyone do this using one of them.  (Since they don't towel off, it seemed like that water had to go SOMEwhere!)

Ha!  Need more rugs iin my houses!

Confirmed. They need to be standing on a rug, then you select your victim. The nanny hates it.  :D
*ZAP* That's for not getting my schedule right!

yes that's sim me that was electrocuted by this damned child. btw the child is Capricorn, she's playful, not mean.
humm i don't know about uploading myself, i'm not well known here... i'm quite the lurker actually.  :P

Playful sims with poor social skills are forever landing themselves in trouble!  They always seem to choose just the very worst kind of sim to waterbomb or ventrilofart!  So I suppose it's the same with the kids!

As for the elder woman formal outfit, I had the same corruption in the game with the same exact outfit.  It looked pretty weird at her daughter's wedding.

Aha, I love this interaction, we had great fun with it last night. Its a prank interaction for those that do not know, you need a rug and a sim that is capable of pulling pranks. We made a set of evil twins to get started, high in playful/active/outgoing and low in niceness to be sure they could pull pranks. We made the elder sibling and single dad the opposites in personality. The twins are hellians and love pulling pranks and shocking people among the many other nutty things they do. Oddly the sibling and father seem to enjoy getting pranked. Go figure, I thought they would be in the corner bawling by now.
