Pet Aggressiveness/Friendliness

Can you train a pet to be friendly towards everyone in the family, including other pets, but be aggressive towards strangers, or is the friendly/aggressive training all encompassing one way or the other?

I don't think so. You can praise them for "hostility towards others" or scold them for it, but there isn't any distinction in terms of who the "others" are.
