151  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's in YOUR Downloads? on: 2007 December 21, 01:23:12
BV DC, minus norespawns, harderjobs, and nouniprotect.  And Monique's computer.
152  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Help! Accidentally stopped .package files from being openable on: 2007 November 30, 23:52:46
What operating system are you using?  If it is windows XP, I might be able to help you fix it so it is useable.

Open up a folder in view mode.
Go to Tools->folder options
Click on the file type tab.
Scroll down until you find the .package extension.
Set .package to open in SimPE or your .package viewer.

That's the best I can do, but I do know that somewhere there is a way to de-associate file types.  Perhaps someone much more awesome than I?
153  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How can i prevent visitors ringing at the back door? on: 2007 October 31, 06:51:04
I've found that if you use a double door as the front door, and an "interior" door as the back/basement door, it seems to remove the back door delivery problem.  Any way you look at it, though, the EAxis door system is fucked up.
154  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Vacation Locals invading neighborhood?! on: 2007 October 21, 09:52:32
Do you use "localwalky" by Pescado?  I haven't seen a vacation townie in my regular hoods since I put it in.  It keeps people in their own places.

Thank you, Oh Great Gwilly One.

*Mitchie prostrates herself in thanks*
156  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Pinstar's new Apocalypse challenge on: 2007 October 20, 23:52:00
I never tried it without the seasons rules, so I can't answer.  It is quite difficult, and temptation to cheat must be fought a lot in my case.  I've been considering using pre-seasons rules.  Anybody know if Pinstar is going to update for bon voyage?
157  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Wants & Fears Sanity "Death To All Nesses" Public Beta Edition on: 2007 October 19, 00:13:34
Mr./Ms. Gwill, I apologize for not knowing your preferred gender-based title, but would you please ask for this undiscovered shiny?
158  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help, fight constantly on: 2007 October 18, 03:47:37
When did this start?  Had you downloaded a new batch of custom content right before this happened?  CC can sometimes have odd effects, but I've never seen anything like that before.
159  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Securom and denying it permission from the registry, anyone know how? on: 2007 October 18, 02:58:20
Viral Orgy reminds me either of a band name or a very wild party with HIV infected participants.
160  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help, fight constantly on: 2007 October 18, 02:48:16
Do you have any hacks, cheats, mods, or other custom content in your downloads folder?  This is not normal Sims behavior, for a newly created sim to wish to pummel unknowns.  More information please.
161  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Securom and denying it permission from the registry, anyone know how? on: 2007 October 17, 23:45:03
I thought it said it was out of here?  Damn Liars.
162  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Securom and denying it permission from the registry, anyone know how? on: 2007 October 17, 20:35:10
I could have sworn multiple of us indicated that you could not just disable it and you had to remove it?  Some people apparently can't read in context.
163  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 October 17, 17:50:16
My game performance has altered little, but my DVD Burner software now works.  Before I payed closer attention, I actually went out and bought new (yucky) software for it that was "SecuROM Compatible".  With a No-CD executable and SecuROM removed, my old software functions properly again.  Also, no random hits on my firewall.  I don't know if everyone sees this, but my computer kept trying to contact someone or something about every 15 minutes before I removed SecuROM.  Now it doesn't do it at all unless I tell it to.  Again.  Finally.  The gods of sand that were compressed into chips to make my computer are happy again.  Techno-Shaman rule.
164  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Securom and denying it permission from the registry, anyone know how? on: 2007 October 17, 17:42:43
Last resort?  And here I thought it was the tried and true method.  In all my searching on the net, I have found no other clearly written step by step guide for removing SecuROM from a BV installation.  I hope you don't have to reformat your computer because you fucked with your registry.  Reformatting computers because of SecuROM is a debunked myth.  Reformatting computers because you borked it beyond repair messing with something you shouldn't have is more common, and likely if you don't know EXACTLY what you are doing.

I'm just wondering where s/he got a dam.  Is it a beaver dam?  I know that none of the major dams are privately owned.  Perhaps s/he built a dam in the back yard, and doesn't want to give it up?
166  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Wants & Fears Sanity "Death To All Nesses" Public Beta Edition on: 2007 October 17, 00:41:33
It sounds like you need Romance Mod, and maybe the Undiscovered Shiny which actually causes the extinguishment of old love/crush hearts during the marriage process. Ask Fat Gwilly People.

Mr. Gwill?  Could you please request this shiny?  It sounds WONDERFUL.
167  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV and no CD? on: 2007 October 15, 23:49:41
I can't find securom on oblivion or shivering isles.  I also can't find any reference to a security-type program anywhere on their site, although I do need the disk to run it.  So, safedisk is my guess for their anti-pirating software.
168  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: The SC4 Terrain I did so I could have more beach lots on: 2007 October 15, 23:41:07
I have managed to place several beach lots I downloaded from MTS2.  They work fine, with all interactions, including swimming, functional.  They were all created in vacation destinations as "vacation homes", but I have placed them in my main hood.  Perhaps where they were created has an impact?
169  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 October 12, 06:06:25
MS DOS?  Anyone remember Apple IIE?  The Commodore 64?  Programming in BASIC, "Hello World", backing things up on real cassette tapes, the innovation of the "hard" floppy, now THOSE were the days.
170  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage inconsistently refusing to load! on: 2007 October 06, 21:11:28
It could be the cars.  EAxis has published that it has redone the cars and to redownload.
171  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cleaning up Characters? on: 2007 October 03, 23:47:24
There is nothing you can do to save your hood at this point, that I know of.  "Abort, delete, retry" is the only solution I am aware of.  Once things go borked in a neighborhood, they stay that way.  You cannot save them through any method known to me, and I've looked.  If I am wrong, I welcome the pointy sticks of the other MATYers, as long as the poke is followed by WHY I'm wrong.
172  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cleaning up Characters? on: 2007 October 03, 23:23:04
I didn't expect someone to provide an example to what I was saying as to why people avoid this place. I state the problem, get some help, provide what is wrong with that in relation to my own game, and a fight starts because the answer didn't work. Your thing about who is right and wrong is exactly why he won't come here. You only believe one thing and find it impossible that someone else could be right in a different way.

You know what, forget it. Apparently I'm not going to get help here. I'm just wrong, according to you, and that is all that matters. Just forget it. I should have known better than to come here. I should have known I wouldn't actually get a solution, just have it pointed out WHY i'm wrong.

Your blind defense of your "friend" who apparently didn't mess up your computer, according to you, but DID do things you don't understand to your neighborhoods, files, and characters, is what has people up in arms.  They need to know exactly what you've done/had done to your files before they can assist you.  You should never allow someone to do things you don't understand to your computer.  EVER.  RTFM is helpful, friends who explain are helpful, blindly having faith that a friend is absolutely right, even if he can't/won't explain is not.  If your friend had posted the info here, lots of MATYers would have run off to try it, finding whether it works.  It would then be discussed, rehashed, modified, and applauded as needed.  Your friend is full of shit if he says he has the one true way.  Your files are screwed because not even YOU know what has been going on with them.  You don't know what your friend did to them.  You don't know what you've done to them.  No, you won't get help here, because to help, we need information, which you can't provide.
173  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cleaning up Characters? on: 2007 October 03, 23:02:03
Whine whine whine.  Too many characters... I found why this is bad by SEARCHING THE FORUMS.  Do so or sod off.  Bitch bitch bitch You come here asking for HELP.  These people try to HELP you, and you throw a hissy.  They are right, your friend is wrong.  Just because he doesn't see it doesn't mean its not there.  The people on these forums have been nothing but helpful to anyone who RESPECTFULLY states problem,  listens/reads solution, and posts INTELLIGENT questions about solutions.  If this is not your experience, look in the mirror for the problem.

175  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Walkbys/Vistors wear outwear in the snow hack? I really really have searche on: 2007 October 03, 11:11:21
Outerwear does have a very minor influence on how fast sims freeze.  It is practically useless, however.  The difference is minimal.
