Freaking awesome! In my old hood I'll try Inge's buyable food truck again, my sims are screaming for greasy food.

Maybe you can wait with this and do us all a little favor: Do you have a test hood? Could you copy the subway station from the Beverly Hills side (the lot with just the subway entrance and the food truck parking space) and place some of them in that test hood? I wonder if the food truck will also show up there.

Good news!
I have installed the new version now and while my old instance of Bridgeport ist still borked (and meanwhile moved to the trashbin), the new instance has the food truck. It also drives to other lots and becomes visible there.
Great work, J.M.!  Smiley

I'm just wondering whether J.M. sees this. Was it the right decision to place it in this thread?
29  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Late Night bugs & annoyances on: 2010 November 12, 18:08:54
First of I have to apoligize. I messed up Twallans "MasterController" with "OverWatch". I have both installed.

I watched the food truck for about 3 hours parked at the same spot and then I left in order to update this thread. Just deleted the old instance of Bridgeport and start a new one right away. I will be back later with a report.

EDIT: UPDATE
Installed mods: awesomemod, MasterController

I have watched the new instance several times now. It's always the same.
The hood starts at 8 am,
the food truck always stands at the apartment which is face to face with the gangster warehouse.
The food truck drives away some time around 2:30 - 3:00 PM.
It drives around and disappears at some other lot with a food truck parking spot.
Short time later I can see 1-2 other food trucks driving around but disappearing.
Then the whole rest of the day there's no food truck showing up anymore.
30  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Late Night bugs & annoyances on: 2010 November 12, 17:52:30
It's getting more and more confusing. I'm just back from watching another sim day and now the food truck didn't appear at all. I mean there was even none driving around. After watching that I tried another copy of Bridgeport and the food truck is there, parked at one of his spots - even though I have awesomemod and MasterController running again.
After all it looks like my Bridgeport is borked. I'm going to throw that one into the trash and start a new one. Luckily I didn't have much progression yet.

EDIT: AFAIK awesomemod don't nuke derelict vehicles automatically but the MasterController does by default. Maybe that's what caused the issue. I have reconfigured this mod now and hopefully I have more luck with the new copy of Bridgeport.
31  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Late Night bugs & annoyances on: 2010 November 12, 16:35:57
yep
EDIT: I also had Inge's buyable food truck and the buyable food truck parking space installed (not anymore) but never used in bridgeport. Is it by any chance possible that those items intefered anyway?
32  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Late Night bugs & annoyances on: 2010 November 12, 13:11:22
Hi there,
I have a new issue actually. The first times I played Bridgeport I have seen the food truck in some places, but not anymore. When I go to the map view I can see it driving around. Then it stops at some lot with a food truck parking space and it disappears!  I can see not only one food truck but in fact three of them but the behavior is the same. I have also waited for a respawn. I watched the scene a whole sim day long. They appear, disappear, respawn and so on (with and without mods).
I use awesomemod and Twallans master controller but even if I put them out the problem remains.
33  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 11, 17:53:14
The only people I see bitching about it are noobs.

Do you really think between himself and his mods that he couldn't run his board however the hell he pleased, up to and including allowing for mass ass rapings of stupid and lazy noobs?

You have completely missed my point. Perhaps you should get some knowledge about what an issue tracking system is anyway.
34  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 11, 10:39:25
The other day I thought, "wouldn't it be great if Pescado uses an issue tracking system like it's usual with open source projects?". But no that doesn't suit here. It needs contributors with professional behavior.
And now before you tell me to go fuck myself, I go fuck myself.  Tongue
35  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Speed up your game by deleting world caches. on: 2010 May 30, 12:38:54
I'd like to go back to the topic because actually I have a question.
There is something odd: I have 3 copies of Sunset Valley, different town names, different Sims and different houses but they all share the same cache files! The same goes for third party worlds. Well, I wonder what kind of shit that is!
Especially with Sunset Valley I have to face the Error 12 so often that I don't even care to play it anymore! No problem with other towns. Is it in any way possible that this cache sharing causes this error?
I am going to test this. I moved the Sims and houses from the copies of Sunset Valley to different (well done) third party worlds, deleted the copies and I will see what happens.

EDIT (few hours later): Nope, I saved 3 times successful but the fourth one came up with Error 12 again. :-/

EDIT 2: Ambitions FTW! This Addon decrapified my Sunset Valley save about 20MB, it saves in seconds instead of 4 minutes now and no Error 12 anymore!
36  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Speed up your game by deleting world caches. on: 2010 May 25, 13:32:01
I'm talking about 12fps and less, combined with lags of about 0.5 seconds.
37  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Speed up your game by deleting world caches. on: 2010 May 24, 11:51:44
Thank you J.M.  Smiley
I will do it only once in a while when I encounter massive drops in the framerate again.
I have also restored the original cache file of Sunset Valley because I don't know how the EP Setup will behave when the file is absent.
38  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Speed up your game by deleting world caches. on: 2010 May 23, 22:17:36
Great joke Mr. Pescado.  Grin
Now seriously, what's your recommendation about those cache files?
39  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Speed up your game by deleting world caches. on: 2010 May 23, 20:00:20
I keep the original cache file of Sunset Valley in a safe place until I'm sure it's OK to delete it. Maybe the setup routine of the next EP checks for all those files and refuses to install when it finds an incomplete file list. I don't know.
40  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Speed up your game by deleting world caches. on: 2010 May 23, 14:04:30
Hi there,
i searched through this forum and found several posts, mentioning the deletion of the world caches for fixing bugs but today I found another benefit.
First of I like to say why I came up with this idea anyway. The framerate of my game dropped down dramatically since the first days. I encountered this especially with the old neighborhoods Sunset Valley and Riverview.
So I moved the two files Riverview_objects.package and Riverview_sims.package to the desktop and started the game. Wow, Riverview has never been so fast!
Then I tried the same with Sunset Valley but to my surprise there are no cache files of that town in (MyDocuments)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\WorldCaches. I found it in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Caches.
Sunset Valley had the most awful frame rates but now it runs like a charm! The cache file is now rebuilt at the same location where the others reside.
The only (temporary) drawback I found: it takes up to 10 seconds for the game to render details of a lot but that's only when it comes to vicinity the first time. I think this is logical because that's what the cache files have been holding.
After all I guess those caches gather a lot of crap over time which slows down the game.

Now I'd like to know Pescado's opinion about that. Is it safe to do what I have done?

P.S. Sorry for my bad english.
41  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Books.xls structure please on: 2010 March 16, 22:54:20
Hi,
I have already wondered why the game wants an xls but here is the message word by word: "There are no **** Unlocalized Genre **** books defined in Books.xls" . This comes up when I want to add books of genre "Tutorial". The message changes to "There are no Article books defined in Books.xls" when I want to add the genre "Article". Well It could very well be a typo by the developers and it's meant to be Books.xml (which would make more sense IMHO) but nonetheless the questions remain because I can't find "Books.*" neither in "MyDocuments/Electronic Arts/..." nor in the program folder of Sims 3. Where is that XML you mentioned?
42  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Books.xls structure please on: 2010 March 16, 12:50:41
Hi there,
I'd like to stock certain book shelves of a library with certain genres. When I choose "stock with genre" -> category, the game tells me that the category can't be found in Books.xls. So now I'd like to edit this.
- Where can I find that file,
- what's the structure like (if it don't exist yet and I have to build it from scratch),
- oh and a list of category names would also be handy.
- Do I have to use the original english book titles or does it work with localized titles as well?

I can't find any of that information neither here nor somwhere else on the internet.
43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Harry Potter-inspired name generator, for your pudding-naming needs! on: 2010 January 01, 09:43:49
All that generators on the site remind me of some beginner stuff when I learned Basic on the C-64 several decades ago. :-)
44  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sunset Valley = Krypton? on: 2009 December 19, 09:27:07
I have that reddish glow once in a while but it always disappears simply by restarting the game.
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Car owner cannot be set since WA on: 2009 November 23, 22:26:20
I think I got how it works: Choose the Sim who should own the vehicle, then click "set owner" and both are connected. I tried it with one Sim and several vehicles. Whenever I changed the setting, the Sim drove the one which he was set to (sorry for my bad english).
46  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Car owner cannot be set since WA on: 2009 November 21, 20:11:39
So what does this mean?

A: Car ownership must be set in way I didn't get yet. -> So how does it work?

B: It's a bug. -> Will you put it on the ToDo list for the next AwesomeMod?

C: You're joking. -> Erm... well... haha or so. :-D
47  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Car owner cannot be set since WA on: 2009 November 21, 13:24:15
Do we have a bug here? When I click on a car the option "set car owner" is still there but nothing happens when I choose it. The list with the Sims of the household won't show up.
48  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Game gets stuck in CAS on: 2009 October 03, 19:26:47
I solved the problem with a workaround. I copied all households into the bin, made a new neighborhood and placed them there. Nevertheless I wonder how the click event subscriptions could have been destroyed.
49  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Game gets stuck in CAS on: 2009 October 02, 21:25:56
The only CAS related CC I have is afBottomBriefs_BikiniTie_Thong_HanlonRazor.package which works fine. I think if this error was due to CC then all neighborhoods would be affected by it. I once had afhairlongwave.Sims3Pack installed (from the store) but deleted it. I just reinstalled it to see if the lack of it causes the error but that didn't help either.
50  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Game gets stuck in CAS on: 2009 October 02, 20:52:01
Hi there,
I have one certain neighborhood in TS3 which has a nasty bug. Whenever I order a Sim to a wardrobe to get new clothes or to a mirror to changes his/her look, the game gets stuck in CAS as soon as I click on the OK button. It does not crash, well at least not visually. It simply don't react on anything anymore, but the UI controls in CAS still function, except for OK and Cancel. Even entering "quit" into the cheat line doesn't help. The only thing I can do is to terminate the game with the task manager. So there's no exception log, sorry.
All other neighborhoods are OK.
