I got a LTW come up as a want for a child at random, and had the option that if I "promised" the wish it would become the LTW so I've had children in my game with an already established LTW before aging up any further, through natural gameplay.

Nice Quick question though about the "aging at normal levels" comment - does that mean we can't play the game on epic, or if we do start the legacy on epic lifespan, that we can't change it at any other stage?

Potty training is definitely harder in TS3 because toddlers' bladders also seem to decay MUCH faster. I had a toddler with about 1/3 of a bladder bar, I clicked the toddler and went to potty train them, they'd soiled themselves before I'd had a chance to have my sim pick the toddler up.

I love the names of the books that come up My sim wrote a Masterpiece last night (after having written nothing but non-fiction novels) she got $7406 for called "101 Reasons Why Frosting Is a Food Group". I almost wish that was a real book, I'd LOVE to read that.

Slow Kikis Are Slow, but has anyone else realised that we FINALLY got our fire worshipping sims as was promised in the "OG" Sims 2 preview video? Maybe now that means we'll also get sims that can swing off the ceiling fans...

I can confirm that ALL upgrades to the PC ("sturdiness" or "improved graphics") are possible from Handiness level 0 if you are a Computer Whiz and choose the "overclock" option, you just don't get a choice in what upgrade it is that you get - you either fail to improve it, make it unbreakable or improve the graphics.

If you weren't talking about the Sims, all this stalking of children to schools and following them home could really be taken out of context horribly LOL.

Seriously children, meshing is hard to get right. There are plenty of things that can go wrong with it and cause exploded meshes, borked files and the whole nine yards.

I hate TSR as much as the next pirate and think their management could quite cheerfully DIAF for all I care, but I'm all for things that will provide me the means to attempt to mesh for TS3 the way I was able to in TS2. I was predominantly a clothing mesher for TS2 so admittedly I am watching Wes_H's progress like a hawk with anticipation to see if TS3 will be in the "too hard basket" for me as far as the effort of meshing will go (seeing as though I ended up meshing and creating more than I played and I started resenting it), but like mootilda said it shouldn't matter who makes the tools if it benefits everyone.

With that said, I don't make a habit of sticking my hands down a lion's throat so I'll wait until a few sacrificial lambs have downloaded said TSR tool first and come out of it unscathed before I make use of anything from their site.

Oh God, don't even get me started on this kind of thing. I had someone in my tutorials first year of university that just freaked out completely and could NOT comprehend the idea of Mercrutio having a homoerotic man-crush on Romeo and actually stood up in the tute and shouted "NO! THEY WERE HOMIES! HE WAS INTO CHICKS!".

It really IS just as bad for gifted children though; I started school at 4 years old as a 6, and was already reading at a significantly advanced level compared to my peers. I was breezing through books in Kindergarten that 2nd and 3rd graders were struggling with - my mothership told the school this, but due to my age and the belief in wanting to keep the status quo my school fought my family for a good 6 months attempting to hold me back a grade.

I'm still thankful to my parents that they fought so hard to keep my place and refused to let my school hold me back for my age - I ended up graduating approximately 18 months younger than everyone else in my class, but was equal dux of my grade senior year despite it. I spent most of my school years attempting to not appear to be that much smarter than everyone else and blending in, because in the modern schooling system you do NOT want to draw attention to yourself if you're too far advanced of the system you're in.

I never played the legacy challenge really in TS2, simply because no one aged around my family and it was a PITA to beam people in and then age them up all the time to keep them progressing along with my family (for example, we had the same maid for 6 generations in my longest attempt...WTH?). Now that story progression means sims around you age along with you, I'm keen to try and do a legacy again.

That's how ANY skin HP has ever made has been. I saw she'd made skins and it was a big ol' DNW from me given they tend to look orange and pixelated.

When I was high-school teaching I never had a problem with doing my own marking and getting my work done - did it take a large chunk of my social life that I wished it hadn't? Sure...but I still managed to do my OWN work and what was required of me without having to pass it off on others. The salary I was on was the only reason I left teaching for a higher paid job,  I never had a problem with doing the work because I knew what I was in for...too many people think that teaching is what they see on TV, that it ends once you leave the classroom, which is why they get butthurt when they realise the work involved.
