1  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: 3Booter, the Incooperative Game Kicker on: 2010 June 08, 20:30:06
In a Vanilla game but running with the Vitality exe I saw more than 150 fps and that was just on the loading screen.  I left to grab a coffee and when I came back the air blasting out of the case, and it has five fans, was very hot and the game was running in map view.  I checked via the cheat menu and it was still whopping up over a 150 fps.  I would be interested to know if this was a fluke but I was not taking a chance with my card screaming at me.

2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 07, 23:50:03
If you sell it directly out of your inventory you will get promoted extremely quickly.  Selling stuff at the consignment shop doesn't count toward your promotions because EA borked it.

This is true. I am having no problems with the Inventing career or the Stylist career, apart from the fact it's bloody tedious being in neverending CAS land.  Inventing is going along at the same rate it was in the vanilla game.

One area of major pain I discovered in the vanilla game is the "upgrade hose" for the fire fighting career.  You can upgrade it in the station twice I think but once you reach the top and have the ability to work from home, you can only upgrade your home fire bell and engine.  This pongs badly of being the usual EA shit basket of failure because the hose upgrade helps you put out the fires twice as fast!

ShortyBoo I don't have the frame work in I took all my mods and packages out to try Ambitions.  When my card started screaming and going at over 150 fps I decided to try the limiter.  It worked first time just put the file in your ambitions directory this includes the 3booter execute, fps limiter execute, HookHelper dll and Limiter D3D9 dll those are the files I used.

Pescado, sorry I can't donate this time around at least not yet.  I have a funeral to pay for and most of the finances are tied up until everything is sorted.

The Red Assassin bug is in China.

I'll be donating again, just keeping an eye on the exchange rate so I can get the optimal sterling to dollars conversion.

Eevilcat I presume you are donating from the UK, feel free to poke me with a stick if that's wrong but my ears pricked up at the word sterling.  I ask only to find out the best way to do this that causes Pescado the least hassle with fees.  Is an international money order better than visa or a cheque.  I know in the previous thread a debate raged but nothing ever seemed to be put forward as the best way.

Donation sent.

Sorry Chaos I had the wrong quote I was in a rush.

Mootilda, did you not read the first post? The OP doesn't want to use AwesomeMod, because it's her daughter's game, and she wants to keep it vanilla.

Actually this isn't about AwesomeMod but pertains to the regional dll for the launcher.  In other words Mootilda the patch will bork different regions with or without AwesomeMod!
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: no cd crack and TSLHost.dll question on: 2009 June 26, 23:49:55
I had a problem with that particular dll, it kept coming up with invalid file and stopping on 97%.  I copied and pasted the original from the dvd over the old one and it then patched without a hitch.

So yes, I would say renew that from your dvd as the patch likes to bork on the launcher dll.

I built my pc a few years ago and like you I am looking around to build a new one.

One thing I will mention that can sometimes be overlooked:

if you are swapping out the fan off a boxed retail processor don't forget to buy a small tube of arctic silver.  Some geeks use liquid metal but being allergic to most metals I stay well away.  There are a few compounds you can use I think V is the newest but can't be sure.  Again if you are buying retail boxed and not OEM Chip then you won't need this unless tinkering with said fan.

I would also second what daistarr said.  Take a look at AMD the older phenoms had problems but with the newer they sorted that out.  Amd are about to release the Phenom II Quad Core (Deneb) this month.  Price has yet to be determined but it just might prove to be worth a look.

Good luck with the build.

First secuROM and now this!  Thanks to the most awesome for finding this out and giving the alert.

Has anyone informed the sheep on the Sims/Spore website yet?

12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sporetrial and SecuRom on: 2008 June 18, 21:08:57
That's a shame you really had me intrigued with that strange new planet theme.  Certainly a different take on the Apocalyse.

I like most Science Fiction which is probably why I was rather interested in Spore until bloody secuROM in its new form was to be sneaked into it.   That they've included secuROM in the demo of the creature tool rather annoys but I shouldn't be surprised since they intend to charge for the full program!

13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sporetrial and SecuRom on: 2008 June 18, 18:06:40
I was a "good" girl and tried to get mine from the official site but the bloody thing must have been overloaded, so in the end I snaffled the trial via newsgroup.  So that's probably why.  As I said, if you managed to get the "doctored" version then you should be fine providing of course there is one!  Kotaku's site might have had the secuROM removed but I can't be sure and it wasn't around long enough to find out.

While I'm actually posting...Zazazu have you written a second chapter to "Dark Side of The Moon"?  I really enjoyed the first one but can't find any sequel.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sporetrial and SecuRom on: 2008 June 18, 16:04:13
SecuROM is definitely on the Creature Creator.  My Kaperskey caught it I denied it anything and it slunk off with a rather large tantrum (that I didn't read).  Its the cmdLineext.dll I haven't found any other folder yet that has the flag secuROM so yeah if your launching the program then you will probably have this dll on your computer unless of course you've managed to get a hold of a "doctored" version.

Mine is now deleted but will probably come back if I launch the program again...its a persistent little bugger.

Kabuto, thanks for the downloads but I think there is a problem with those links.

After putting in the numbers to get the download it's putting a porn page up on my browser and pg2 is blocking a site called "InterCage, Malware Central Inc".  Luckily I block all http and only allow certain sites through Peer Guardian.  Thought you should know this so others don't get caught.

Sorry late to the party here, been busy with another challenge.

There is one way of dealing with the shower issue.  Make it so they can only have one shower per sim, per day.  If they use that on a morning and the baby gags on them in the afternoon they are stuck and stinky.  It eases the child stink issue while still keeping it slightly challenging for those unlucky mishaps.

After all running water today is expensive!

Cosy Cottage is exactly what I've been looking for.

Thanks Witch.

"Out of Lurk Mode"

I use the DC for BV all except the zombie mod.  I never had the courage to stick that mod in before but I'm due a system wipe and intend to have some fun with it before my game gets blitzed.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: More bullshit from Massive Shithead on: 2007 November 23, 13:47:14
Despite what MaxoidSam said the only thing EA is interested in is profit.  Until the secuROM fiasco eats into their profits in a big way it will be here to stay and will no doubt ship with Sims 3.  I doubt the Maxoids have any say in this matter at all.

I would be very curious to know though just how the Teen stuff-it pack actually did.  Anyone know if its sales were hit by the secuROM issue?

Plus the sales of the next "Lies and Propaganda" ep should also be interesting.
