1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hacking the Aspiration Meter - Is it possible? on: 2007 September 18, 12:08:19
Would love to have more aspiration point storage, now it's a little pointless to work for the hard to get aspirations with high bonus, except for the aspiration rewards and I always end up with more aspirations points then I can use on rewards.

Have you guys seen this...it looks pretty awesome. It's a remake of Targa's stairs, I think, with proper animations. I would use these because I like when it looks real. The new animation makes it drool worthy! http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=241795

Unfortunately, these ladders aren't sim/fool-proof. I had two sims who managed to get completely stuck by trying to use the ladders simultaneously. One was up, the other downstairs. Both were complaining that the object was already in use, and both kept waiting until the other had finished using it ><.
I have now reverted back to Targa's, no spiffy animations but no traffic jams either.

ETA; causes a problem with ACR too. Couple decided to have some woohoo, female reaches ladder first, male throws hissyfit about object in use, drops auto woohoo from cue. -_-'
Yes, just as the standard stairs, except they allow sims to meet in the stair but don't follow, as stupid as it sound, you might not be able to meet someone in a narrow staircase in real life but it no problem for lots of people to go up in a queue.
This is a typical AI routing problem; you can see it in many games, I have used it as an exploit in RTS games, get a enemy unit to stop and block the way and the rest might try another entry while you are shooting at them.
The problem with sims is that they have zero patience and no common sense. If the access is blocked by other sims they should wait longer, they move out of way for each other but might be busy so it can take some time before they move. Also if the access is blocked by trash or leftover, clean up. This AI change would help for stairs to, I don't think the modular stars have this problem, at least it much less, probably because each module are treated independent.

Hi, the table is named exploding dragon dinner table, it's a one tile table and is much used in the castle. Can you check that its name is in your game?
Else everything looks nice except that the house to the merchant next to the thief family didn't   have any roof Smiley

One more question, is the ottoman family safe to use? I assume this family don't have any memories or connections to Pleasantville. They would make good serfs after my opinion Smiley

I have little time to play now so I don't know much I could test the Wild West neighborhood, I have just started populating Scotia.
Will contact you then I got a little more time.

I have tested this now after downloading from shopping list and removing duplicated content, it looks wonderful.
One question, did you use the dragon end table a lot or are I'm missing some content? Thinking about the witch house and the merchant close to the thief, I did not see the royal castle before yesterday because it was so far out on the side of the map.

Do you have a neighbourhood file for your Wild West neighbourhood? It would be fun to test out.

I also have a zip file with all the required content from Scotia. I downloaded on work so I have the file. Don't think I can put it up public because it's from multiple creators but if somebody wants it I can make a link.

I have never used strealt stairs, but have no problems with it stairs are partial broken anyway.

I love the new animated ladder, hope it don't make queues like the standard maxis stairs.
They are broken, if to sims are following each other the second is blocked get angry and decide to do something else.
I have found that elevators actually is easier to fit then stairs because you can place the exit there you want. Else I use the spiral stairs a lot, and the old ladder stars.
If someone could make shorter stairs, a three or even two tiles stairs would still look like stairs but take less room.

You might want to talk to the creator of all about style, it looks like she know much about historical fashion and should know that what absolutely don't fit in, also a good possibility that she let you include her items in the download.

This is awesome, just tested Scotia and it look real good, I have most of the items required but not all, one lady showed up with no body just head and a ring Smiley Many other had standard clothing.
So I have to download everything except a few things I know I have, I didn't download everything from dark project or midsummer night only a selection and now is MTS2 very slow.
I had a problem with installing and I wonder if I did it right, I replaced the
The Sims 2\TSData\Res\UserData\Neighborhoods\N001 folder and removed the
My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhoods\N001 folder but then the neighborhood didn't came up so I copied the Scotia N001 folder into
My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhoods\N001 and it came up, is this correct or have I done something wrong?

Also like the Wild West project but has not tested it yet. Might be easier to install because it look like most of the cloting is from all about style. She has an amazing collection, I say that anything in the Victorian category can be used, and it should be more than enough variation, true lots of the clothes are a little to fancy for the frontier but you see the townies mostly then the have traveled to the town center. Also the wild west period was from the 1860 to 1890 and you can probably stretch it a little in both directions.
