THANKS THIS IS GREAT

... but can computers be affected by cold?

I've noticed that when my computer's cold (it's in my bedroom and I sleep with my windows open, so it can get quite chilly especially in winter) it has problems with running properly. The screen blacks out at random (and comes back up after a while - time varies) and if it's having a particularly hard time, it'll reset at random.
When the room's heated up however, I don't have any difficulties at all.

So is there a connection between temperature and computers functioning? I know a computer can overheat but I've never heard of it getting undercooled... And what can I do to prevent it? Dressing the case in a blanky seems really silly but if it's the only option I'll have to endure people looking strangely at me.

Computers are affected by cold: For the most part, they like it! Computers run better in the cold. Computers do NOT, however, like moisture, which can accompany cold in some cases, particularly when you open windows. Computers like cold, though.

Think condensation, which extreme temperature fluctuations will create.
