126  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Um... How Many New NPCs Are There in Happy Holiday Stuff? on: 2009 January 30, 10:02:29
Santa is a free best friend.  Handy for Popularity sims, I never checked if he count towards career friends.
He's annoying as hell though; after eating his cookie and dropping the present he always heads straight for the bathroom where he alternately pees and goes "ho-ho-ho" for the rest of the night.  In order to give him that hug and get the free best friend I always have to remove BUY (which does not eject Santa since he's an NPC).

If not, by all means;

128  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Menu problem on: 2009 January 27, 15:27:24
I can't remember if it still does this in my game, but it's annoyed the hell out of me for a long time.
Some times clicking many times help, but then you risk accidentally clicking on whatever option pops up on the next menu, and you have to start all over again.
It happens on all items, but it's extra noticeable on Inge's shrub because that tends to take you through many, many more... clicks.
129  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Are maxis terrain paints always huge/blurry? on: 2009 January 25, 11:27:00
The maxis terrains aren't very high quality textures, and as you observed, they are stretched over a considerable larger area than floor tiles.
As for CC...  Most CC terrain paint sucks.  They're too easy to make, so any idiot with a tiling (or ever non-tiling) texture at hand thinks they can make great terrains.  Most of them never gives any thought to scale.

Ask whoever made the hack.
131  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: "Jump rope" leaves behind stuck object on: 2009 January 14, 15:17:42
I never had problems with jump rope, but the tip jar for the violin has nearly killed sims by trapping them in a corner by the sofa.

Minemineminemnine!  You no can haz!
133  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Comm lot borkage and a question... on: 2009 January 10, 13:53:39
Hmm, removing the download folder did in fact fix the problem, but due to my unwillingness to do a binary search through 4400 files (most uncategorized) it looks like my sims are going to just have to hoof it whenever they want to go anywhere.

Why is it that people seem ti grossly overestimate the hassle of doing a binary search?  Unsorted is not a problem, quite the opposite; it makes it easier to divide your downloads in halves even.
A binary search of 4400 files will require you to start the game no more than 13 times, and since your downloads folder will be exponentially smaller each time, loading time will also be greatly reduced by each reduction.

Stupid question number 2: Are you remembering to save?

By cheating.

Could be awesome as Wolverine! claws if not for the little jewel things dangling from the cuticle.

The "all ages" bit bothers me.  Do you really want a toddler with claws like that?
137  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there hack for tweaking (but not randomizing) personalities on: 2009 January 03, 19:10:18
Don't forget it needs to be turned on while in neighborhood view. If you turn it on while in lot view, it won't let you do that until you exit and re-enter the lot.
For some reason, changing and saving your graphics settings also activates the cheat fully, but the lag is almost as bad as just re-entering the lot.
138  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Coffecuphack and Nobathroomdishes Incompatible??? on: 2009 January 03, 14:18:03
Have you recently downloaded a mod that changes the colour of coffee cups? In my game, the new default coffee cups (brown stripes) cancels out the automatic washing/disposal of said coffee cups.

That's what happens when people who have no idea what they are doing makes replacements.
They must have cloned the whole cup in stead of just replacing the texture (which would have been quicker and easier anyway).
139  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: M&G Breaks Everything (well, almost) on: 2008 December 30, 14:16:41
Sorry, I don't have M&G yet, but here is the thread you were thinking of: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,13932.0.html

As I would have pointed out, if someone hadn't locked the thread; I had alfixes installed at all points during my troubles.
140  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Go to finals broken on: 2008 December 29, 14:37:21
I had that problem.  Pescado "fixed" it about three times before I took the hack out while playing uni lots.
141  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Butler relationships on: 2008 December 28, 15:05:48
The restaurant cooks walk by on community lots, and can be interacted with normally.
That's not normal cook behaviour.
142  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Getting the damned caustics to work. on: 2008 December 24, 11:28:22
First open tag, then close tag.
Open one tag for each tag you close, and vice versa.
143  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bad memory of an engagement on: 2008 December 24, 11:25:18
Is it a bug?  I thought it was some kind of inconsistent feature related to secondary personality.
144  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Butler relationships on: 2008 December 21, 13:19:32
I shouldn't think so, butlers have 'real' names don't they? They aren't just 'Butler'.

That's not the only criteria for "stay off!".

Very few NPCs will blow up your game.  He might still go around whitegloveing counters, but no *boom*.
145  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Holy crap, Guise on: 2008 December 18, 14:07:33
Some specific NPCs appear to bypass the spawning vectors entirely, such as, yes, the reporter (intentionally) and the grand witches (will probably code a fix for them eventually to detect their spawners and nuke them).

Grand vampires, The Gypsy and damned Mrs. Crumplebottom!
I have some owned community lots, which is basically just a hideout for romance sims to own, to have secret dates, get away from their spouse and get public woohoo memories without too much fuss.  Unfortunately, Mrs. Crumplebottom still gets in (despite the lot being closed) and harasses my sims.
I'm almost tempted to add the visitor controller back in.

147  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Illuminating 2 story rooms. on: 2008 December 15, 20:09:43
Windkeeper has some really tiny lights.  I believe they can be found in the booty.
Inge has a ceiling light hider mod.  Place lights on the first floor and hide them.
148  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How I went from body skill 1 to 10 in under 15 seconds! on: 2008 December 13, 11:08:10
I had a bug with the ballet barre immediately after installing M&G that did that.  It happened on several lots; sim touched the barre and immediately I got ten pop-ups about body skill.  Replacing the barre fixed it.
I have no idea how it happened.
149  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage Bugs Found After AL Installation on: 2008 December 13, 11:03:34
Third, after my sim explored the pirate ship and the ghost of pirate captain appeared there is no queue for joining the pirate chant. All I can choose is Entertain...Joke.
I'm not sure whether it's an actual bug since I haven't tried this before I installed Apartment Life; maybe I'm not doing it correctly... Huh

This is normal.  You need to build up a bit of relationship before he'll teach you the song.
150  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Pythagoras window won't go on diagonal wall with M&G? on: 2008 December 12, 23:02:28
They did this on purpose. I know it.

In other news, anyone see the wall called "Brick Rolled"? "This wall is never gonna let you down."

I rather like the Noble End Table from Store Stuff castle set.
