Isn't Monique's "create baby with X" good for this? The baby appears immediately in the crib. Maybe. I've never seen that one; it's not at MTS2 that I can find. Where would it be, and is it compatible with FT? Monique's newer hacks are at the InSim site. She has her own forum there.

I think dizzy made a hack like that. You might have to look in the graveyard. I had it on my laptop, before it exploded in a BFBVFS.
I have this hack. Sims put the plates away individually, rather than stacking them, as I'd like them to do.

Well, I purposely create leftovers for my families that have children, so that the kids can get leftovers from the fridge when the parents are at work, and then the nanny won't start making crepes suzettes, or something ridiculous like that, and burn down the bleedin' house. I don't like having to dig things out of inventory in order to use them, when I can simply click the fridge.

I would like for sims to stack and put leftovers in the fridge the way dirty dishes are stacked and carried to the sink/dishwasher when they are cleaned up. It's annoying that sims pick up every leftover meal separately, especially if the leftovers are all the same type of food. Granted, there are different amounts left on different plates/bowls, but it's just very inefficient for leftovers to be put away separately. At the very least, perhaps JM could add 'put away leftovers' to macrotastics, so we don't have to click every dish individually, or wait for an anal-retentive sim to put them away autonomously.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sims should radiate social...

Hmmm, I suppose it could be a coincidence that my sims don't seem to chat or gain Social when doing different activities in the same seating area, or that I imagined it, but it does seem to be the case in my game that they ignore each other when doing different activities. I will investigate further.

I get very irritated that, if one sim is drinking coffee whilst another is eating pizza, they completely ignore each other, even though they are sitting at the same table. Do you mean when you are using Power Idle, or anytime? My Sims always seem to chat when they are sitting at a table if their relationship is high, or they are family. I don't use Power Idle much, so I wouldn't know about their behaviour then. Anytime. If sims are doing different types of activities (e.g. one is watching TV and one is studying from a book), then they will not notice each other, even if they are sitting together. ETA: For some reason, if one sim is studying or watching TV whilst one is just sitting in the same room, they will chat a bit, and their Social will rise, but if both sims are doing a separate activity, then they ignore each other.

Having a person around and ignoring you makes you more lonely
Yes, yes it does, and this is why I've often used it as psychological torture. More in the past than in the present, but it is quite effective, nonetheless. I agree with the OP that sims being in the same room together, even if they are doing different tasks, should boost the Social motives of both sims, and that they should be able to chat while carrying out their tasks. I get very irritated that, if one sim is drinking coffee whilst another is eating pizza, they completely ignore each other, even though they are sitting at the same table. Edited for typo.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Children's workout cloths

I *think* that objects can be distributed in Sim2Pack format by placing them on a blank lot, packaging the whole thing, and then deleting only the lot with Clean Installer.
About children's workout clothes: When I had my custom fantasy/medieval 'hood, some of the children's clothing that I'd downloaded was coded so that it could be used in all categories, including workout wear. It never crashed my game, and I was able to buy it using JM's clothing tool, as well as Numenor's hacked coatrack, with no problems, so it CAN be done. Based on the evidence presented in this thread, I believe that TSR's 'security' coding is to blame for the OP's problem.

I don't know for certain if this will work, but you could try changing their appearance using a mirror. Just give them face paint, then remove it, and okay the changes (even though you didn't really change anything).

To be perfectly honest, this sounds nightmarish to me. I can barely handle three sim-days of pregnancy, with pregnant sims nearly dying due to their hunger and energy bottoming out at the same time, not to mention the morning-sickness during the first stage of pregnancy, with the puking after every meal, and the subsequent need to flush and clean the toilet. No, thanks. Also, the child, teen, and elder stages are already too long, IMO. This hack is an interesting concept, but it's not for me.

I don't know how new/old these particular graphics cards are (I use a Radeon X1600, myself), but with some of the older cards, it often proved helpful to roll back to an older driver, because the newest one was causing problems. If these are very new cards, however, there might not BE an older driver to roll back to. If there are older drivers, you could possibly try one to see if it works.

Now that I think about it, two of my teen sims got a flashing blue face when they had the Re-Nu-Yu Senso Orb reward object in their inventories (I wanted them to each have one when they went to uni without using any more reward points). As soon as I removed the objects from their inventories and sent them each to a mirror to change their respective appearances, their faces were permanently corrected.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Obsessive Diary-Writing

I think it was Dizzy who made a hack that only allowed sims to write in their diaries if they were alone in the room where the bookcase was. He recently posted his hacks on The Laden Swallow. It doesn't completely quash the obsessive diary-writing, but it does do away with a lot of it.

I don't have an answer for your sims being unable to leave their owned community lots, but a flashing blue face on a teenager usually means that you are using a custom skintone that doesn't include the teen age group in it's file, and thus will not provide a face when a child grows up to teen. If you are using a custom skintone, perhaps try removing it. The teen will revert to the Maxis S2 skintone.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No Unneeded Coats??
|
on: 2007 December 27, 23:21:04

Nounneeded coats affects all sims. They will not put coats on unless the temperature is low enough (by Pescado's standards), even when walk-bys and other non-playables are wearing their coats. Vampires will never wear coats, because they are undead, and thus cannot die from freezing. I removed the hack because I wanted my sims to wear coats when it snows, regardless of temperature. I don't really care if my vampires wear coats, or not.

Becky, did you close all background tasks (including the internet) before you installed? I got that same error when I stupidly decided to web-surf while installing an EP. That was a mistake, and I had to re-install the EP.
