-clutches head- Too many townies!

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Please, O Combined Awesomeness.. tell me, is there a way to safely remove a good chunk of townies in a played custom neighborhood?

We were doing okay, but someone smacked the NPC/Townie tree one too many times in the past, and now the wife is populating the hood with her made family's offspring, not knowing that she was bogging down the town's files.

Do I kill them off individually and delete their tombstones? I have no idea who "knows" whom of the played chars, so I don't want to go randomly removing the files from the actual folder and likely screw things royally. As it is, we had a past experience (pre-Awesome-joining) of downloading and planting two sim-infested lots from the exchange. I finally got all of them killed off and as a result got rid of the "unknown neighbor" errors a while back. I dun want to go through THAT again.

Purging townies is a multistep process.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill because they pissed me off.
