Sinking pets and choppy gameplay. How can I fix this?
« on: 2007 April 08, 20:02:41 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Yesterday, I had an Nvidia GeForce 7800 GS installed onto my PC to enhance my game performance, and it worked and played the Sims perfectly.  Today, while playing the Sims I came across some problems that really affects my gameplay.  The movement of my Sims is very choppy during play mode, my Sims will instantly cancel an action as soon as its given to them, and my families that have pets will sink into the ground with only their backs and heads popping up.  Also in Create a Sim whenever I try to create a Sim they'll stand inches back from the circle tile on the floor, and pets will sink into the ground.  Now I just want to know a way to revert my game back to normal.  Help will still be much appreciated.

I've never seen the CAS thing before but the only time I had pets sinking through floors was when I had an outdated version of the Insimenator in my game. Do you have that installed?

I do not have the Insimenator however I am responsible for the death of many kittens (I have the inteeminator).  Could that be the cause?

Well I guess you could take it out, give your game a try and see what happens. That's what I would do anyhow.

I haven't seen the CAS thing either, but I had a case of sinking pets that seemed to be caused by a custom pets-enabled bed.  Just another thing you might look out for.

It turned out to be the Inteeminator. (which was updated for OFB) I took it out and now it's working perfectly!

ever since the install of seasons i've had my sims dropping every action unless i constantly keep an eye on them.
and i had a dog sinking into the ground. Do you have seasons? The game throws a wobbly when it tries to fool with the temp gauge that the dog doesn't have when it uses the water wiggler from ofb, theres a fix for that around here somewhere. but this is all the input on these problems i have in my tiny brain

what EPs do you have installed? with InTeen you must have the correct version for the newest released EP you have installed - from the look of the pictures you have Pets so it is rather clear you were using the wrong version of InTeen  Roll Eyes

Wellllllll, I just had my first sinking dog.  Grrr.  I don't use Inteen and it happened suddenly.  All was well when suddenly all my sims kept resetting themselves (again) and the pets were sunken into the hardwood floors.  That had to ow, you know?  Oh well.  I'm just going to move the family to another lot and see what happens.

When I finally got all my hacks properly updated, my sinking dog problems were over 95% gone.  I bet you've got something outdated in there.

That's why I'm not an early adopter of Seasons...

That darn water wiggler was the culprit on my lots (have never used Insim or Inteen).

The wigglers were great because the dogs could wash themselves.  That was then.  Now they're banished from any lot with a pooch.

This hack may address some of your sinking-into-the-ground reset issues. And shame on you for not having it! It's an ORANGE!

I moved my family to another lot and all is well.  Then I also d/l the orange-coded thingy (see above) and all is still well.  The interesting thing about the lot I had been using when it occurred is that it had a floating floor, where I'd put walls on the lower level to build un upper, then removed the lower.  It did weird things to the greenhouse as well (the tomato plants floated in the sky).  Of course, that may also be attributed to the fact that it was a greenhouse on the roof.  LOL I think I just borked the lot, that's all.  'tis gone now.
