1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: is there a way to turn off opporunities or allow the sim to decide themselves? on: 2009 July 16, 14:19:20

can you turn those off as well veezee? =D thanks!

I will have a look at some point, but don't hold your breath. I did quickly scan as I put in the phone splattering, but I didn't see anything I could configure relating to work opportunities.

hey just thought of helping, but i dont tink work opportunities appear from the cellphone, you've silenced the phone and the random skill ones(eg,paint this for me blahblah/write autobiography..ect)
i think the work ones appear randomly while youre working >.<

as for the rest of you all,i dont understand why you are all getting upset over this.
i want to play the game the way i want to play it. just because i dont play the game the way you guys play doesn't mean you can blast off at me and i feel sorry for you guys if you guys actually enjoy making decisions like ":can a come to my house;b wants to talk to c,can b talk to c;a needs you to make a new friend" and so on.

ohhh.i get what you mean, but if i let indie mod run, theres a chance that my family will move away(awesome mod prevents this i think&indie too)
also indie mod will make decisions for them, for now im running a couple family,i dont want to have kids.
indie mod author and many people have said that it has a tendancy to pair people up, so i might come back with kids, lots of them!!.
if i turn off story progression in indie(so the game doesn't make decisions- on statis), the game will go nowhere.
if i turn off story progression for my house(and eenable it for everyone else) nothing wil change.

what i want is the game to continue running and my sims to not make any huuuuuuge or major decisions.
if i stay with the family and go afk, they will just do what they need to do to not die and not get sacked. they will get promoted, neighbourhood will progress.there will be no major changes in my lot =D

anyway i tried the mod that veezee posted,it doesn't work that well.
i've been runniing it for awhile, it does stop outside opportunities and phone calls (haven't got one yet)
but work opportunities still occur.

can you turn those off as well veezee? =D thanks!

sry,haven't been on for awhile.
anyway i'll try the mod by veezee and check back in awhile.
indie's wolfrun doesn't do what i want, wolfrun makes your sim do nothing the whole day, say like he has a job, he will just sit infront of the tv,while the neighbourhood progress.

job swaps are opportunities i believe.

thanks all btw =D

no indie stone works differently, the way indie stone works is that it makes a family run while you're not playing it,
i want the game to NOT pause.
like i want to have the sims 3 running and playing while i go out for dinner / play another game(say CS or dota) and come back to find it not paused.
right now , phone calls and opportunities will pause the game, so say like if i go out for dinner/play another game , i will find it to be paused with a "someone wants to go to your house/wants to chat/do this for boss(and so on)"

>.<

i dont think it would be hard to turn off opportunities as someone have already made an opportunity mod (this one increases the freaquency sadly.)
and to turn off the phone >.<

sadly , i have no experience in modding the sims and would like help.

8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: is there a way to turn off opporunities or allow the sim to decide themselves? on: 2009 July 12, 15:39:57
thanks , will try indie, sounds good cept that i read it makes decisions for my sim :/
i want my sims to make decisions for themselves >.< the mod says that it will make decisions that would make my sim another sim >.<
whats supreme commander btw?is awesome mod good? i heard that the new patch does alot of things that the awesome mod does so it isn't really that awesome anymore =D
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: is there a way to turn off opporunities or allow the sim to decide themselves? on: 2009 July 12, 10:32:05
i want to stop it from popping up , so i can get out of my house and my sims still continue with their lives.
so i dont have to "play" it, instead just let it run in the background.

=/
i dont get why the game cant be like simcity where you can let it run in the background while you do something else.

so i can let the sim live on their own?its kind of absurb that i have to decide if kid a can go to kid b house or if kid c can come to my house :/
and when an opporunity pops out it pauses the game so i cant really do something else while playing the sims 3:/

if the wife and husband both have the fertility treatment, tripliets is 100% guranteed so your family will multiply like acursed ants!!
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Career Profitability and Perks on: 2009 June 02, 01:08:34
Satire is not unlocked by any other genre.  It appears as a type when your Sim gets to a specific writing level.

i have level 10 in writing but i dont have satire :/
i got all the writing achievements as well..
17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: How to Torture Sims on: 2009 June 01, 15:30:30
tried scaring a sim to death??just a random thought
18  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: revive sim that already have a tombstone? on: 2009 June 01, 15:26:53
Ambrosia simply resets the Days Before Aging timer for the Sim that eats it, and as far as I know does not actually revive any ghost Sim. What are your sources? Where did you hear this thing that sounds a lot like a fallacy?

I can confirm - it does revive a ghost.

Heh, trust the noob who's never cooked Ambrosia to put its foot in its mouth. But yes, it's an opportunity.

umm..why dont you try it yourself?i've cooked ambrosia several times and used it a few times myself.
19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: revive sim that already have a tombstone? on: 2009 June 01, 14:56:38
ohh i see its an opportunity.. meh.. dis sux
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: revive sim that already have a tombstone? on: 2009 June 01, 12:19:15
Ok, then I guess there is a profound difference between ghost babies and real ghosts. Can you please reiterate clearly what you are trying to do?

My ghost baby (grown up now) ate ambrosia and just got her day counter reset to the beginning of the current phase.

dont know about ghost babies but this is what im trying to do.
- my sim died of hunger
- got urn, planted the urn in my garden -> becomes a tomb.
- family went on with life.
- after a while i got 10 in cooking and fishing, so i can make ambrosia now.

now this is the part that i cant get to happen -> revive the ghost sim/get her to eat the ambrosia.

if you took the urn (not the tomb) to the science lab, you can play as the ghost sim -> make her eat ambrosia = alive again!
but i tried taking the tomb with me to work as a lvl 10 science job -> nothing happened :/ cant bring her back?? -> cant eat ambrosia = cant come back alive.

21  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: A special breed on: 2009 June 01, 12:09:28
- sims with the hidden firemen trait get twice the mood from a comfy fire, plus they don't get -200 when on fire but +75, although they can still burn to death

what would be the point of this..to be happy while burning to death?
22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: revive sim that already have a tombstone? on: 2009 June 01, 11:59:30
mm thats not true, you can revive a ghost sim and play it if you bring the urn to the science lab, and you can revive it to a normal playable sim if you feed it ambrosia.
but the thing is you cant make the ghost sim playable after you give it a tomb :/
23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Razor1911 release vs. Reloaded release on: 2009 June 01, 11:35:08
i installed the RLD version and patched with the 711mb to upgrade rld to razor's release.working fine so far..can patch it..
seems it replaces game and gamedata folders
24  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / revive sim that already have a tombstone? on: 2009 June 01, 11:26:19
meaning you cant bring the urn to work so that the sim becomes playable ?
already have the ambrosia..the ghost wont eat it thou.is there a way to force the ghost to eat it?
mine died of hunger because i was fooling around with the bars (testingcheatsenabled) ://
it'll instead go make its own food ~_~
