Changing restaurant menu on community lots (not business-owned)

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

this may be a retarded question, BUT

is there a way to make community lot (not business-owned) restaurants have just certain food available too? my simmies are tired of going downtown to every restaurant and seeing the same blah stuff on the menu. i even tried making the host selectable and clicking on the podium, but no such option. so i assume it's absolutely necessary that the community lot be business-owned in order to plan the menu? frickin' fooey. but if there's a simple way around this, please do share.  i'll give you twizzlers, or something.

Yes. It is impossible to plan the menu on a non-owned lot because those lots cannot save any object state changes.
