Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Install 1.3 update or not?

Oddly enough, over on Facebook (because I haven't ventured over to 3Tardland today), I noticed quite a number of people kermitflailing over the patch and how they can no longer play with mods in the game. It was a mixed bunch: some had removed their Mods folder before installing, and some hadn't.
I haven't taken the plunge myself (I'll take the "wait and see" approach with this patch as I did with the last one), so I can't tell you if that's the case for me.

Possibly so, but I have a feeling that she's just waiting for the tools to be perfected. I remember that she started out with everything free on her site back when Sims 2 was still sort of new, and I'd imagine that this will be the case with Sims 3 (starting out free for a bit before putting in the "Donations Only" downloads).

Yeah, I'm working my way through those right now. This reminds me of years ago when I first tried painting with Corel Painter; I was totally out of my element when I first opened the program. I'd spent years painting with all sorts of mediums, but that was certainly no walk in the park. I have a feeling this will be the same way. Good thing that I'm a quick learner.

Mine's the Radeon HD3200, and I pointed out (probably in one of the undead threads you pulled up) that turning on adaptive anti-aliasing gave me no other problems except balding sims. Everything looked so smooth and sparkly like a baby's bottom, but so did my sims' scalps. Very much DNW.
Of course, I'd thought that quite a few other games have problems with ATI's lurvely AA, not just Sims 3.

I know. However, windowed mode and my computer hate each other (and have since S2) for some unknown reason, quite opposite of the problems others have. Frozen computer and then CTD occur, and it isn't something I like, so I choose to stay in full screen until I figure it out. I like the hairband but I think the hair itself is pretty hideous. It's all right. It looks slightly better than a lot of her previous offerings for S2 and S3. The true test of how it looks will be in gameplay, itself, instead of CAS. I'll get around to that in a minute. I had to up the brightness of my monitor because I switched from a 32" LCD monitor to a 17" CRT (bleh, the difference in brightness is staggering), and I was working on a personal core mod.
