1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: backing up game cds with dvd? on: 2006 January 08, 23:54:25
Does Daemon tools do that as well? I believe right now it's the most illegal of the image mounting software (illegal as in under-ground, not breaking the law) so it might have a better chance against those program police.
2  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Food facts(?) and Is it worth having a food processor on: 2006 January 08, 15:42:36
The worn fridge is the most efficient in terms of the "selling after it's empty" method because it holds exactly the same as the "cheap" one at 200. Restocking it costs 450 if you count delivery which is almost always higher than the cost you need to sell and buy a new one. You could even get a recolour for this that is not worn...  Wink

I was wondering, is the toddler mush free?

Last I heard, the no CD cracks disabled build mode in the game. Is that still the case?

It's only if you use a Sims2.exe file to overwrite the original one that build mode is disabled. Virtual Drive, Alcohol 120%/52% (The bartender woud love this!  Wink) as well as Daemon Tools can use the Virtual/Mini Image files without any problem.
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: hack to hide plumbbob and thought balloons? on: 2006 January 08, 05:10:51
After boolprop/woolprop

showheadlines [on/off] ... Toggles whether chat, emotion, and other balloons appear over Sims' heads.

Try this one, it should get rid of the balloons. Don't remember if it did remove the plumbobs or not though...
Inge has a hacked CD that does the similar option under "Global Hacks" at simlogical.
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Alien/Zombie/Vampire on: 2006 January 08, 04:50:43
I'm quite confused. Was this apropos of anything?

I was confused originally as well! I guess he's asking whether the dude in the picture is an alien/zombie/vampire. Why, I don't know.  Huh

UNFO. (Unidentified/Unidentifiable Not-Flying Object)
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: May I share your hacks with my mother in law on: 2006 January 07, 21:48:56
The hacks are small enough to be transferred by a floppy disk. Saves all the hassle of burning a CD, checking if it burned correctly and wasting it in the process.

Maybe you can make .iso / .bin & .cue files with a program like Alcohol 120% or Ahead Nero (I think Ahead Nero has a protection program that won't allow you to do that.) and then burn them directly on a DVD. This won't let you install right out of the DVD but then you still do have copies of the game.

If you are the LEGAL owner of the original CD you can legally use no-cd cracks/hacks.

They can be found under "Game Fixes."
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Categorizing all my downloaded hair... Any advice on how to keep my sanity? on: 2006 January 06, 19:00:07
Here's my idea: Select all of the strange hair you seem to have accumulated, and push the DELETE button.

I mean, seriously, You can't have that many sims. Even if every single one has their own unique hair, you STILL DON'T NEED THAT MANY. You do want your game to actually load today, right? Start DELETING!

It took me a lot of time to realize that. I'm down to around 100 from an original 500.  Wink
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Stolen Newspapers on: 2006 January 03, 03:16:40
How about the gnome? Does it still get stolen? I'm currently playing TS2 only base game so I cannot check about the newspaper..I'd rather that the grouchy sims steal the paper than knock over the cans tho.. Grin

They think they are being mean, but they are actually helping! Cheesy

The gnome still gets stolen. I never use it because of that - my sims can't survive without the sport of kings.  Wink
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Stolen Newspapers on: 2006 January 02, 16:09:09
JMP steals newspapers in my game.  He often runs onto lots in his tracksuit, like the highly active sims tend to do, and grabs a paper as he runs by.  He does it to people he hasn't even met.  If I stop him in his tracks by asking them to greet him, he gets very annoyed.

The same thing happens in my game! It's a pity regular object can't be stolen that way.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I've never seen this want before-is it common? on: 2005 December 31, 20:28:03
My bad - on my original Sims2 game I remember seeing that want just once - so it's probably not a very common want.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I've never seen this want before-is it common? on: 2005 December 31, 20:11:11
The PJ's one is very common for pleasure sims. Usually sims with other aspirations get that want if they have been wearing PJ's often while out of bed... not 100% sure.
I suppose personality has got to do with it as well.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Turning a neighborhood into another neighborhood on: 2005 December 30, 17:25:34
I nearly reported that image as offensive/adult content!

Arg, I did. I was trying to see what was offensive about it and then saw the button. I DID click on it and slide it away, which turns into a "invalid" cursor normally but it didn't this time. I went right back and clicked it *stupidly* to see if it was a real button. My backspace key wasn't fast enough.  Embarrassed

Oh well, they won't find anything offensive about it anyway.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? on: 2005 December 30, 05:02:40
Oh, I'm quite the opposite. My sims build on, unless the lot gets seriously glitched up. Ad my simshave a lot of furniture scattered around the lawn.

I only do that because my graphic card doesn't like big houses. It gets awfully cluttered after a while.  Shocked

Try this. N004 is turning into N005 in the picture - you can replace it to whatever numbers you like.

(Thanks to Zythe for the pic.)

Though I'm not a graphic nazi this certainly does give a much cleaner look.

"Thank you this is great!"  Wink

19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Requests? on: 2005 December 28, 00:16:20
What I really love about fortune sims is that they act like knowledge sims as long as they need that skill for their job. Along with the 3000+ bonus for promotions and the Earn x simoleons want, they really do work out nicely.

Still, I have some problems with fortune teens. Can't they at least earn as much as a Wal-Mart job?  : Embarrassed
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bad Kids? Bad People? on: 2005 December 27, 22:19:12
I recently read a rather convincing argument (using clones) that children growing up badly turn out less attractive - sunken faces, more prominant features and the like. </offtopic>

I would really love to have the link to this, if you don't mind. I have lot of trailer trash (no offense to trailer dwellers  Tongue) that are just waiting to have something worse happen to them.

21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: 6 want slots without Uni on: 2005 December 27, 22:11:24
That is correct - the fear slot is just a replacement for the 6th want slot.

Great hack, it will be very useful for my slob house in which family members regularly invite people to beat them up... for pleasure!
