76  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Hard-to-find conversational options on: 2009 July 29, 00:40:18
I think the "ask about" interactions (book, day, how slept, etc) have more to do with close relationships and recent activities than with individual traits. None of my sims have the traits mentioned, yet a father/child or husband/wife can ask each other how they slept, how their day is going, or about the book they just read, depending on whether a sim just woke up, just read a book, etc. I think it's cute.
77  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.3 Released on: 2009 July 28, 23:54:19
Considering how badly written and nonsensical some of the sentences in the patch notes are, I don't have high hopes for the patch.

rubenm, did you try deleting your cache files (any file under Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 that has "cache" in the name)? That might help.
79  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Removing Those Horrid Suspenders on: 2009 July 28, 22:58:10
I just "dresser" the sims wearing the offending overalls, as I see them. It only takes a few seconds.
80  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: 30x20 lots vs. 20x30 lots on: 2009 July 28, 00:23:47
If the mailbox were on the long side of the lot, that would make sense, but it's not. it's on the short side, meaning that the lot dimensions should be 20 x 30, not 30 x 20.

I'm very happy that this is now a standalone object. I did like the original; I just didn't want it to be an either/or situation. Problem solved!
83  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Manual or Help Text? Anyone? - Wiki Edits in Progress! on: 2009 July 27, 22:19:29
I only use SC for collecting rocks, bugs, etc, so I don't actually know much about its inner workings. Maybe someone who does know will be kind enough to add the info to the wiki.

Since TS3 sims are fairly smart about taking care of their needs, I've been taking a more hands-off approach to playing the game, and sims are hilarious when left to their own devices. The parents in the fambly that I'm currently playing will take every opportunity they can with their kids to praise them, express fondness for them, request them to do homework, and request them to clean. The daredevil teenage son loves to do the Watch This interaction, and the bookwork son wants nothing but to talk about books. Unless I queue them to skill or something, all they do is socialize with each other, read books, or play on the computer, but they mostly want to socialize. The autonomous book critiques are especially funny to me. Science fiction, romance and trashy novels almost always get criticized as lousy. Drama, mystery, and other higher-level novels nearly always get praised as being great, and yes, this tends to happen directly after a sim has finished reading a book.

In my game, the doppelgangers always appear as homeless sims. If you use the Awesomemod, and have debugging commands and testing cheats enabled, you can type "listhomeless" in the cheat window (Ctrl-Shift-C). If ISM is creating clones in your game, you'll probably see them there. I only discovered them when my game was lagging horribly, and I decided to see if there were any homeless sims. As it turned out, there were multiples of every family in my Library. Once I deleted them using the destroyalltownies command, the lagging stopped.

The gender-biased doors will come in handy for community lots. Thanks for the links!
87  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Driving Dead on: 2009 July 27, 03:48:18
That's just bizarre. I've been playing that lot, and the ghosts just haunt the house, as per usual.
88  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Story Mode on: 2009 July 27, 03:42:02
I don't want to completely disable immigration, but only the Library cloning. I don't think there's an option for that. If you're thinking of the option to create breeding fodder from sims in the Export bin, that's something completely different, and it has nothing to do with the Library cloning.
89  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: There Are No Schools In This Town? on: 2009 July 27, 03:35:35
Has anyone done any tests to see whether adding two versions of the same type of rabbithole is a VBT, or not? I've never experienced any problems with sims not going to work or school, nor have I experienced any pileups at said locations, but I also tend to play legacy style, with only one active fambly per town, and often don't have any spawn to speak of. It seems logical that adding a second school to a town might solve the problem of school pileups, but I could also see it causing a BFBVFS if having multiple schools confuses the game's routing mechanism.
90  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Story Mode on: 2009 July 27, 00:16:58
I've already stopped using the Indie Stone Mod. Some of the features are really nice, but the constant cloning of sims from the Library is just too obnoxious. I shouldn't have to delete the famblies that I've taken the time to create just so some retarded story progression feature can decide that it needs at least five copies of each fambly. Nope, I'm holding out for the Awesome version. Fuck Indie Stone.
91  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: A graphical glitch with adaptive anti-aliasing on: 2009 July 26, 23:46:31
I haven't used AA since before TS3 came out, but when I was playing TS2, lowering the resolution didn't help at all. My native resolution is 1680 x 1050 but I have it set to 1280 x 960 because it doubles as my TV and is thus a few feet away from me - I like to actually see what I'm reading or typing. Disabling adaptive antialiasing is the only thing that made a difference.

Edited for clarity. And because sometimes I are teh dumb.
92  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Creat a style drop-down menu spazzing.. on: 2009 July 26, 23:28:44
There's definitely a memory leak. Even when I save my game frequently, it still gets slower and slower as I play. I often quit the game to find that my desktop has gone black. The black desktop only happens when I've used waaaaaay too much memory. I have 4 Gb of memory on my machine. There's no way I'd be using so much of it after only a few hours of gameplay, unless there was a leak.
93  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Slacker Babysitters on: 2009 July 26, 00:22:16
I've noticed this, too, and since sims can just pull bottles from their butts, and spin babies to magically change their diapers, there's really no excuse for them not to. Stupid EA.
94  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Modern Wood - a starter home on: 2009 July 26, 00:14:39
I'm pretty sure that the game already allows sims to purchase lots either furnished or unfurnished, but this is only when moving in a sim from the bin, not when the game decides to move homeless sims into houses on its own.
95  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Charisma skill stopped building?? on: 2009 July 26, 00:12:31
Do you get any sort of popup message notifying you that your sim needs to meet more people and/or make new friends? There are caps at certain points in the charisma-building process that require your sim to meet more acquaintances and make more friends. Try that, and see if it works. Maybe you just aren't getting the popups like you're supposed to.
96  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Slacker Babysitters on: 2009 July 25, 22:45:15
If both parents are home when one of them calls the babysitter, then the babysitter will show up and do its job until one of the parents dismisses it. If one parent is gone when the other calls the babysitter, then the babysitter will automatically leave when the second parent gets home.

OpiumGirl, it was Kyna who linked to the wiki, not witch. You should change your info in the first post to reflect this.
98  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Useful glitches? on: 2009 July 25, 22:27:10
I actually agree with you, TEG. As soon as I noticed the glitch that I posted upthread, I rearranged my sim's house, so that it would no longer occur. It was just a curious sort of bug, so it stuck in my mind.
99  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Driving Dead on: 2009 July 25, 22:16:10
I've never noticed anything like this in the default graveyards, but my former playables who died in their homes will go running to and from their houses, like they're going to community lots and coming back. It's really funny to watch, especially the old lady wearing a fur-lined coat and high heels.
100  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: question: garden inside on: 2009 July 25, 21:47:56
When I built a greenhouse, the main house had a foundation, with no holes in it, but the greenhouse was on flat ground. Using the moveobjects cheat allowed me to have my sim plant directly inside the greenhouse, on top of a "dirt" floor (sims will complain if there's no floor in an enclosed space). I didn't have to use any special tricks to achieve this.
