Well one has to find a use for them I suppose.
202  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Barrel Stands (and other weird desires) on: 2005 August 04, 17:07:54
Well fair play.

They need to afford to pay their staff £5 an hour when most of them do nothing. Although, they are the worst managed company ever... ok I won't get started on my rant, but you get the picture. If there weren't so many pros to me working there, I wouldn't be working there.

Also I get discount, so I don't feel the price so much Smiley

WHAT is wrong with the Co-Op? I'd like to know... it's better than fecking Tescos and Sainsburys put together... at least.

I hate all supermarkets mind, but I have this thing where I have to defend my place of work. Please excuse it, but I still want an answer. Tongue

Quote
I've heard of Spotted Dick, but I can't think of what it is now.

Tesco's sell them here in the UK.  In my house it's known as Spotted Private Parts Wink

Tesco's are evil.
205  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Easy Way to Change Comfort Value of Objects on: 2005 August 04, 14:05:12
The Placebo method for changing comfort is for your "Nancy Boy" Sim to "Come Home" and have a bowl of "Special K" while spending a "Pure Morning" in a "Brick Shithouse".  Grin

Benes to those who get it!

Ahhh "Without benes I'm nothing", therefore I always answer those who "Ask for answers". It'll be another "20 years" before I realise I was just a "Slave to the benes" and all this was just a product of "Teenage Angst". Therefore so I may "Hold on to my IQ" do not give me any benes, but "I know" that you know I got it Wink

I thought it was called Makin' Magic in the US... I didn't realise we got another special titled game just because we're British.

And I agree with that order...
207  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What the...?? on: 2005 August 03, 22:14:08
Haha I dare you! Cheesy
208  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Barrel Stands (and other weird desires) on: 2005 August 03, 21:59:53
*dies laughing*

Heh, what do you know, from the first page of google (I don't care that much about this) it would seem Cadbury invented it! Coolness - which means you're right. Cadbury is our big chocolate manufacturer here - I've been to the factory, it wuz awsum! (actually chocolate manufacture is surprisingly boring)
210  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Reaction Tester on: 2005 August 03, 21:38:47
Ha! Wish I'd thought of that for one of my art projects... my art teacher did similar things with LPs.
211  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Barrel Stands (and other weird desires) on: 2005 August 03, 21:20:22
You know, Turkish Delight (probably) originated in Turkey... they are good though.
212  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Barrel Stands (and other weird desires) on: 2005 August 03, 21:02:31
*laughs* I think it's a rarity these days, more of an old fashioned pudding like semolina et al.
213  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Barrel Stands (and other weird desires) on: 2005 August 03, 20:56:56
It's a sort of cake thing, yes. With raisins? Ancient Sim, you're gonna have to back me up on this.
214  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Barrel Stands (and other weird desires) on: 2005 August 03, 20:21:42
Smiley Yeah I could go for one, I'm hungry.

I couldn't remember if America had Spotted Dick or not... evidently not Smiley
215  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Barrel Stands (and other weird desires) on: 2005 August 03, 19:36:19
Wow, really? I can't remember the last time I went to Pizza Hut...
216  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Barrel Stands (and other weird desires) on: 2005 August 03, 17:43:57
Hmm... we have all those cokes, not so many of the pepsies. but then that's less popular. Eh, local stuff? Does lemonade count? And cherryade, and limeade and all the other 'ades we have, Dr Pepper, 7up, fanta, panda pops (pure sugared water and additives)... We have flavoured waters of which some are carbonated... I don't really drink fizzy drinks, so... y'know. I'm going by the stock take I did at work the other week - I did the drinks aisle, amongst other things. The vanilla coke I bought today is the first fizzy I've had in about two months.
217  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Barrel Stands (and other weird desires) on: 2005 August 03, 17:14:16
Well considering your small size drinks are supposedly the sizes of our large, I doubt I'd need a refill over there Cheesy

Well, no. I think there are probably some rare places you can get it, but I remember in TS1 the Pepsi machine - wondering what half the drinks were. We have Ben and Jerry's ice cream though...
218  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Barrel Stands (and other weird desires) on: 2005 August 03, 16:51:37
We have several hundred million [/exaggeration] different types of fizzy drink - including Coke and Sprite. Free refills? As if. I've never seen that be the case anyway.
219  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Reaction Tester on: 2005 August 03, 16:26:58
That's a good use for them actually, I'll have to remember that for when I clear out the space around my computer, which is long overdue.
220  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Reaction Tester on: 2005 August 03, 16:12:20
Yeah well that's what you get for still using floppy disks Tongue

And ta, I guess I'll just use the boolpropavailable one then.
221  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Barrel Stands (and other weird desires) on: 2005 August 03, 16:11:14
Here we call it a "fizzy drink" Smiley
222  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Reaction Tester on: 2005 August 03, 15:59:00
Time to rip my lips off.

Question: testingcheats -  Paul's reaction tester (Paul's, Steve's whoever's)
1. Is that "safe" to use (i.e. no firey balls of doom)
2. If not, is there something similar out there for download which is "safe" and if not, well... it's not that important, so nevermind.

This would be mainly to use for storytelling purposes.
223  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Barrel Stands (and other weird desires) on: 2005 August 03, 15:18:16
Well true, I suppose you could put a band in one, but then we would call it a band stand.

Amusing link. Smiley
224  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Barrel Stands (and other weird desires) on: 2005 August 03, 15:09:12
Eh? We have gazebos - they're little covered seating type things that you stick at the bottom of the garden for no real reason.

Bandstands are just plain bandstands.

I must really be a Southerner, I've never heard the word plodge before.
225  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Barrel Stands (and other weird desires) on: 2005 August 03, 00:50:36
Yup yup, although now my brain is frazzled from all the storey discussion and all the versions look spelt wrong.

Don't even get me started on the fanny pack thing...
